ParticipantWell, as a proud German Shepherd owner, the Pawfit 3’s sturdy construction has been great for us; my boy loves running around and exploring, but his size means he can be kind of rough with his gear sometimes. Despite that, this tracker is still going strong after several months. tho it may be a tad big for smaller dogs (we didn’t have an issue but can see how others might run into sizing problems), it’s been perfect for our larger pup. The price point might seem hefty initially, but considering its durability and advanced technological features, I’d say it’s worth every penny in terms of peace of mind it offers.
If any other big dog owners are out there wondering whether this would hold up to their rough-n-rumble antics, I’d definitely recommend the Pawfit 3!

ParticipantI couldn’t agree more with how handy the Whistle Go Explore has been. It’s compact indeed, but it houses some powerful and useful features – from tracking to setting “safe zones” for your fur friend. The durability of this gadget is also impressive; my Jack Russel Terrier, Eddie, is a hyperactive explorer who has no issues roughing it out in parks and trails. Despite his activity levels, the Whistle Go held up amazingly well! But with all said and done, do you guys think the price tag justify its benefits? For those who already have one, was it easy to introdcue the device to your dog? I recall Eddie being nonplussed initially but he eventually grew accustomed to it.

ParticipantI have to chime in here as we’ve been using the Link My Pet GPS Collar for our golden retriever Max for about 6 months now. Yes, the size and bulkiness is a minor setback, as it did look quite large on him initially. We got used to it though, and fortunately, it didn’t seem to bother Max at all. Over time we’ve come to absolutely adore this device because of how reliable and durable it is!
When it comes to price, I’d say it’s worth every penny given the peace of mind it provides knowing exactly where our adventurous boy is at any given time. A day comes to mind when Max got a wild hare and decided to go on an unchaperoned field trip around the neighborhood – we nearly had a heart attack! But with the help of Link My Pet’s accurate location tracking, we got him back safe and sound within minutes.
My advice? Give your furry friend some time to adjust to having it around their neck and monitor them closely in the beginning. It sure does grow on you (and them!).

ParticipantI’ve gotta throw my hat in the ring for Orijen too. I’ve been giving them to my two Border Collies, Ziggy annd Tweed, for about three years now. As far as cost-effectiveness goes, sure, they are priced at a premium level, but I find the quality justifies the price tag. The treats are grain-free with a good amount of protein and no unnecssary additives – which is a key aspect for me. Plus, they’re freeze-dried which helps retain the nutritional value which isn’t something you’d find in many cheaper alternatives.
A tip I could give to balance out the cost is use these treats sparingly for special training sessions or as a high-value reward during teaching new tricks, rather than for everyday snacking. Ziggy and Tweed definitely seem to appreciate them more this way!
Any other tips on how fellow dog-owners make the most out of premium treats like Orijen?
Kindly_Shepherd_9601
ParticipantJust chiming in with another perspective here. I’ve been using Orijen dog treats with my Golden Retriever, Mr. Fluff, for about 2 years now. Sure, they’re a bit on the pricey side, but for the quality and nutritional value, I personally think it’s worth it. But our journey to find the right treat was anything but simple; Mr. Fluff had an unexpected fondness for fruits over meats at first!
For those looking for a cost-effective alternative though, you might want to check out Nutro Crunchy Treats. They have both fruit and meat varieties and are easier on the wallet. Just remember every pup’s taste is unique– keep trying different brands until you find their favorite! Has anyone else tried Nutro treats? How did your fur baby take to them?

ParticipantI totally understand your struggle with a picky eater; I’ve got a finicky Jack Russell myself! After trying out different brands with no luck, Taste of the Wild Dry Dog Food has definitely been a game-changer for us. Not only does he like it (Win!), but I’ve noticed his coat has a healthier shine and he seems more energetic too. The price is higher than some other brands, but in my opinion, it’s worth every penny considering the quality and benefits!
My tip would be to transition gradually if you’re switching food brands – sudden change can sometimes upset a dog’s stomach.
Has anyone else noticed health improvements in their dogs after switching to Taste of the Wild?

ParticipantJust hopping on here to praise Nature’s Promise Dry Dog Food! I’ve got a five-year-old Jack Russel who’s always been quite picky with his meals. The minute we switched over, we noticed him showing much more interest in his food. He even finishes his whole plate now, which never used to happen before. And as a bonus, the bits are nice and compact, so it’s not creating a mess around his bowl or throughout the house. From my experience, this kibble is defo worth the price! Anyone else noticed less of the mess?
08/07/2025 at 2:32 AM in reply to: Digging into Canine Nutrition: A Comprehensive Royal Canin Dry Dog Food Review #6436Kindly_Shepherd_9601
ParticipantOh, sing it to the choir, folks! Rex and Brutus sure have fine palettes. So, here’s the deal with my Golden Retriever, Honey. Been on Royal Canin for over 3 years and I swear by it too. Let me tell ya, initially I was a bit wary about the price point cause let’s face it, this isn’t exactly a bargain brand. But you know what they say – quality comes at a cost.
The kibble size is just right for her (she had trouble handling larger pellets from other brands before), and the bag’s durable enough to keep those pesky pantry moths at bay. Little tip – keep an eye out for sales or discounts online, really takes some of the sting off the price tag. Anyone else finds interesting deals on Royal Canin?
07/19/2025 at 10:23 PM in reply to: Reviewing the Fi Series 3 Dog Collar: Worth the Investment or Just Hype? #7588Kindly_Shepherd_9601
ParticipantAbsolutely, the Fi Series 3 collar is a real gem! Got one for my energetic Border Collie, Dash, and it’s lasted through all his outdoor adventures. He loves to explore and sometimes gets a tad bit too adventurous. What really amazed me was how durable it is considering Dash’s rough-n-tumble play – still looks great and functions perfectly. The tracking feature brings an incredible peace of mind knowing I can always find him if he strays a bit too far. The price point might seem high initially, but considering its longevity and features, it totally worths every penny!
06/21/2025 at 9:27 PM in reply to: “Transitioning to Zuke’s Dog Treats: A Comprehensive Review” #6703Kindly_Shepherd_9601
ParticipantOh, Zuke’s treats? Those little things are like doggy heaven in a bag! I’ve been treating my old gal, Molly, with Zuke’s for about 2 years now and she prances around like a puppy whenever she gets a whiff of ’em. Even at her age, they’re small and soft enough for her to chow down without any issues. Pricing might seem a bit steep initially, but let me tell ya, quality wise you’re getting your money’s worth. For anyone considering transitioning, I’d say go slow or you’ll wind up with a pooch that only performs tricks for Zukes – talk from experience here. Anybody else had their fur-baby develop an exclusive taste for these treats?
06/21/2025 at 5:57 AM in reply to: “Transitioning to Zuke’s Dog Treats: A Comprehensive Review” #6701Kindly_Shepherd_9601
ParticipantWell, isn’t it fascinating to see another Zuke’s enthusiast! I’ve been tossing these tasty tidbits to my rambunctious Rottweiler, Rex, for around 7 months now. I’ll tell ya, the size and texture are just perfect for his giant chompers. They’re not overly hard like some treats can be. As for the price, well let’s just say Rex has expensive tastes (worth every penny mind you!)
Ever have any problems with them being a bit too irresistible though? Last week I left the pantry door a smidgen open and let me just paint a picture – pandemonium ensued. Our previously spotless kitchen was a scene from “101 treats got loose”! So my question is, how do you store your Zukes to keep them safe from persistent, four-legged burglars?!
05/23/2025 at 5:37 AM in reply to: “Unleashing My Thoughts: A Crazy Dog Train-Me! Treats Review” #7326Kindly_Shepherd_9601
ParticipantWell isn’t this a parade of praise for Crazy Dog Train-Me! treats. I gotta hand it to them, they’ve nailed the size aspect – perfectly petite for any snout size. But here’s an alternative view from the land of three Bulldogs, each one as stubborn as they come. For us, the Crazy Dog Train-Me! treats were like serving a 5-star steak to a vegan; no interest whatsoever! We found salvation in the Old Mother Hubbard Classic Crunchy Natural Dog Treats instead, which had them sitting pretty on command in no time. jsut goes to show that what works for one mutt might not cut it for another. Anyone else got Bulldogs who turned their noses up at these “irresistible” nibbles?
05/18/2025 at 5:20 AM in reply to: “Bocce Bakery Dog Treats Review: Incredibly Tasty or Just Hype?” #6654Kindly_Shepherd_9601
ParticipantDefinitely agree with you there! We’ve been giving our two boxers, Bella and Boomer, Bocce Bakery dog treats for the last year or so. They’re uper keen on them, always make a fuss when they see the package come out of the cupboard. The bite-size pieces are perfect and good for training too! If anything, it’s a bit too tasty and they easily get excited just seeing the bag.
Price wise, not bad at all especially when considering the ingredient list is filled with all-natural items – I’ve noticed no artifical stuff mentioned which personally, is a big plus.
One thing my opinion differs in however, is durability. The treats do tend to crumble if left in a open bag for long periods of time so just be wary of that. My solution – I usually transfer them into an airtight container right after opening to keep them fresh.
Anyone else got any tips on making them last even longer?
05/16/2025 at 12:10 PM in reply to: “Just Got My Paws on Yummy Combs Dog Treats: Share Your Experiences?” #7215Kindly_Shepherd_9601
ParticipantI’ve also tried Yummy Combs with my Lab, Max. They’re indeed tasty (according to pooch’s reaction, not my taste buds!). But as I found, they didn’t last very long with him; a larger size might have been more appropriate for my big furball. On the flip side, I really appreciated that these treats are relatively low in calories, considering Max has been packing on a few pandemic pounds! As an alternative, we’ve started incorporating long-lasting chews from brands like Nylabone annd KONG – they seem to endure his vigorous chewing while still offering that dental hygiene boost Yummy Combs claim to provide. Has anyone else tried switching to long-lasting chews? Did you find your dog took well to them? Keep in mind if your dog has any dietary restrictions or allergy concerns always consult your vet before introducing new treats!
05/03/2025 at 2:27 PM in reply to: “Diving Deep into the Jiobit Next Review – A Dog Parent’s Honest Take” #7662Kindly_Shepherd_9601
ParticipantTotally agree with your points about Jiobit Next. The compact size and secure material build certainly add to its charm – it fits my Lab quite comfortably. However, I feel the need to stress on its battery life, which for me made a huge difference. Think back a couple of months, we took a road trip to the mountains with Chocolate (my Lab 🐶) and even after a day filled with trails & adventures, the Jiobit Next was still functional without needing an immediate recharge! My advice here would be to double-check how often it needs recharging based on your pet’s activity level and lifestyle. Despite the price tag being a bit on the higher end, I’d say it’s absolutely worth it for peace of mind when it comes to our fur babies’ safety.
Anyone else had similar (or different) experiences concerning battery life?
