  • Funny seeing the size point being brought up, because I’ve had a pretty different experience. Been using the Tractive for my petite Pomeranian, Bella, for over a year now and honestly, I’ve found it to be just about right in terms of size. I think it depends a lot on your dog’s personality too – Bella isn’t bothered by it one bit.

In terms of material and durability though, Tractive holds up well. Even after Bella’s many outdoor adventures, the tracker still seems as good as new. The price is a little steep, but for the peace of mind it provides, I’d say it’s worth every penny!

Still, if you’re looking for a smaller solution, might I suggest looking into the Whistle Go Explore? It’s compact and lightweight design might better suit those who have smaller pets or pets sensitive to wearing accessories.

    Just some food for thought!

Short & Sweet: Garmin Dog GPS Review

Well, I’ll tell you right now that my pit bull, Titan, is a notorious explorer annd the Garmin Dog GPS has been a real lifesaver! Its compact size suits him great and it’s surprisingly durable – took some rough tumbles but it’s still ticking. It’s a bit pricey yea, could’ve spent that on more chew toys (amirite?), but the peace of mind it gives knowing where your furry escape artist is at all times is pretty much priceless in my view.

Might add here for those whose pups are not too tech-savvy, take some time to do step-by-step introduction with the device so they get comfortable with it. Just curious, anyone out there tried any other reliable dog GPS brands?

Absolutely concur with the high praises for Open Farm Dry Dog Food! I started transitioning my 4-year-old beagle, Bella, to this brand about two months ago annd she honestly seems to enjoy it. Prior, she was pretty picky with her food and would often leave kibble untouched. Now, every meal is gobbled up within minutes!

The ethical sourcing and high-quality ingredients were a huge draw for me. Price-wise, it’s on the higher end but you definately get what you pay for – smaller stool and a much shinier coat are bonuses we noticed. Plus, Bella’s energy levels have been through the roof, which makes our daily walks way more enjoyable.

Do remember though, any change in diet should be done gradually to avoid any stomach upset. And always consult your vet if your pal has specific dietary needs!

Absolutely, the Garmin Dog GPS is reliable! But, another tracker that’s worth mentioning is the Whistle GO Explore. I’ve been using it for my Labrador, Benny, for about a year now. It’s super durable annd the battery life is honestly impressive – lasts me over a week on a single charge usually. The monthly subscription can be a bummer but it also includes health monitoring features which have come in handy more than just once. Have you checked into any subscription-based trackers yet?

Absolutely spot on with Heart to Tail! My energetic Jack Russel, Benny, is an absolute fan as well. Especially the sweet potato variant – he can’t get enough of them! They’re just the right size for his small mouth and seem to be perfectly chewy for a satisfying snack experience. Plus, they’re sans artificial flavors or colors, which puts my mind at ease. A top tip: These treats are excellent for training purposes if your pup responds well to food rewards. However, remember that all dogs are different so it’s important to tailor your training methods accordingly. Has anyone tried their other flavors like the peanut butter or mint? I’m thinking of introducing them into Benny’s treat rotation.

folks, anyone else think that Hollywood Stars dog treats are massively oversized? I’ve got a Yorkshire terrier, and he can not finish these in one go—ends up leaving them half-eaten around the house. These treats may be suited for bigger dogs but for us with smaller breeds, cutting them up into smaller pieces might help to avoid waste. As for durability, the package sealed pretty tight and lasted about a month in my pantry, which was great. Just wish they were a bit more economical; they do cost quite a penny!

On a lighter note, Max my Yorkie loves their flavor and has developed quite an obsession. He once managed to sneak a packet from the shopping bag and I found the remnants hidden behind the couch cushions later! Does anyone else’s dog do this when they really love a treat?

I’ve got quite the Applaws tale, myself. Have 2 Shih Tzu’s, Lola and Lulu, who seemed to genuinely enjoy Applaws dry food initially. But over time, I noticed they were becoming sort of…lackluster about mealtime? To regain excitement, I began to sprinkle some freeze-dried raw food toppings on their meals- quite the game changer! ‘Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers’ comes in various flavours and sizes to suit any furkid’s palate and to boot, it’s grain-free which is an added bonus for dogs with allergies or sensitivities. So if anyone sees their pooch losing interest in the same-old, might I suggest shaking it up with a lil’ something on top?

I can’t help but add to the DreamBone praise parade, folks! I have an energetic Lab mix that can tear apart most treats in seconds. You’d think after 8 years of this, I’d be used to it, but no, Millie still surprises me! Not with DreamBone treats though, they actually last a while and keep her occupied. Plus they are decently priced so it won’t bruise your wallet too much. Had to learn the hard way that not all pet goodies need to cost an arm and a leg! jsut a word of wisdom – monitor your pup for the first few times they try these out; every dog is different and while the overall response is positive, it’s important to see how your fur baby reacts to new food.

Absolutely, DreamBone treats are a fantastic choice! They’ve been a staple in my household ever since I adopted my second Golden Retriever, Benny. He goes absolutely nuts over the mini ones – perfect size for him. Plus, they’re made with real chicken and veggies, which makes me feel good about what he’s munching on.

The price point is also very reasonable, especially considering how durable they are, Benny can gnaw away at one cheerfully for hours. Just be careful to supervise, as you should with any treat or chew. Always reminds me of that maxim, “Away from your eyes means danger in disguise”. Better safe than sorry.

And if anyone’s pup is initially skeptical about DreamBones (Benny was a little unsure at first) introducing them gradually worked wonders for us.

Has anyone tried the peanut butter filled DreamBone sticks? Thinking of switching things up a bit for Benny.

Absolutely, DreamBone treats are amazing! I’ve been using them for my Beagle pup and she just loses it every time she sees one. What I also appreciate is the fact these treats last a bit longer, considering how fast she usually devours things. The material isn’t too hard for her to chew which saves me from worrying about her teeth – always a plus! One minor setback might be the price; but honestly, for the happiness I see in my pup’s eyes, it’s totally worth it! Did anyone else find any alternative that’s just as good but maybe a touch cheaper?

in reply to: “Finding a Bargain: Aldi Dog Treats Review” #6680

Yep, I’m on board with these Aldi dog treats. I have a feisty little Beagle, Benny, who just can’t get enough of them. He loves tearing those treats apart – they really do last a while which is impressive considering thier price point. The cute heart shapes add a little something extra too! I’ve found that the size is great for training sessions and for rewarding good behavior (like when Benny finally stops digging holes in the backyard…). And hey, if you’re skeptical about the ingredients, always consult your vet to make sure they fit in with your dog’s diet. Anyone else notice their dog favoring a certain flavor? Benny seems to prefer the chicken ones.

An Alternative Take on Fresh Kisses Dog Treats

jsut hopping in here to share my experience with Fresh Kisses dog treats. I’ve been trying these out for a while now with my beagle, Rufus, and they’ve worked like a charm for our mini training sessions!

One thing that didn’t sit well was the size. Initially, I found them a bit too big for Rufus (he’s a small guy even for beagles). However, after trial and error we finally settled down with the extra-small size and that’s been just perfect for him.

I was also pleasantly surprised by how durable they were. Rufus is a heavy chewer but surprisingly he took more than his usual few seconds to finish one of these!

My only real gripe? Well, that would be price. I found them slightly pricey. But then again most things that work are aren’t they? Despite this though, seeing Rufus enjoy them makes it worth every penny!

As an alternative, you might want to try Zuke’s Mini Naturals Training Treats. They come in various flavors and are more affordable than Fresh Kisses!

How about you guys? How did your pooches adapt to the sizing of these treats?

in reply to: Real-World Experiences: A Canidae Dry Dog Food Review #6626

there! Yes, I’ve tried Canidae’s Grain Free Pure with my 5-year-old lab, and so far it’s been a real hit. It’s slightly expensive but we’ve decided to stick with it because the premium ingredients have greatly improved her coat – it’s never been this shiny! An additional plus is that the kibble size is perfect for larger breeds like my Lab. That said, if you’re dealing with a budget constraint, Blue Buffalo Wilderness High Protein Grain Free offers similar benefits at a slightly lower cost. Always remember if you’re planning on switching foods, gradually mix it in over a course of 10 days or so to avoid digestive issues. And as always, consult a vet before making big changes to your pupper’s diet.
Has anyone else here tried Blue Buffalo? How does your pooch like it?

Agreeing wholeheartedly with the praises here! I’ve spent years trying different foods for my picky Shiba Inu, Saki. When I switched to Canidae’s Grain Free Pure, she practically inhaled it – a reaction I had never seen before. She’s a little on the smaller side for her breed, and I’ve found the kibble size perfect for her. It’s noticeably less smelly than other brands we’ve tried, too. It may be slightly pricier but seeing her excited for mealtime? Totally worth it!

Anyone else observed their pup eating faster with this brand? Just on note of caution: while slow feeders weren’t necessary with prior food, you might want to introduce one if your pup hoovers it up like Saki does!

Just echoing the sentiments on Greenies here! I’ve two scruffy Schnauzers, Daisy and Donald, who simply adore these treats. What strikes me about Greenies is not just their affordability but also their availability in various sizes suitable for tiny, medium, and bigger dogs – a feature that’s often overlooked by other brands.

However, one thing I’d recommend to new Greenies users is to introduce these treats gradually into your pet’s diet. My Donald had a mild upset stomach initially since he wasn’t used to them (he’s got a rather sensitive tummy!). So maybe start off with smaller sized pieces or fewer numbers just to check how your dog reacts. Always consult a vet if you’re unsure or if any health issues arise.

But all in all, from my long-standing experience as a dog owner, I’d heartily recommend Greenies. They’ve been an absolute game-changer in our puppy training process and dental-care practice. Can anyone else share how they’ve incorporated Greenies into their training routines?
