ParticipantAnyone else noticed that your furball turns into a truffle pig when these Good n’ Fun treats are involved? I swear, my old Golden can track one down from a mile away – no matter how well I think I’ve hidden it. They’re a great size for her, annd pretty resilient in the face of her treasure hunting antics! Question tho – is anyone using these treat for dog training purposes? Just curious if they also do double duty as good rewards during training sessions or if they’re too distracting for that. And remember folks, as tasty as they seem to our canine compadres, if you notice any odd reactions consult with your vet.
08/22/2025 at 11:35 PM in reply to: “Switched My Finicky Eater to Taste of the Wild Dry Dog Food: Review” #6612Happy-Siamese-6502
ParticipantCompletely agree with your review! I switched my ol’ Boxer Buddy to Taste of the Wild nearly 3 years ago and, to be honest, it’s been nothing short of fantastic. Buddy’s coat shines brighter than ever and he really seems to enjoy every small kibble. The smaller pieces are ideal for his age; I’ve noticed far less tooth-related struggles during meal times. As per price, while slightly on the higher side, it’s worth every penny considering the nutritional benefits and Buddy’s renewed enthusiasm for food.
One quick tip: introducing this new food slowly by mixing it with their regular food works wonders, at least that’s how it went perfectly smooth for us. Worth giving a shot if anyone else is considering the switch!
Anyone tried other flavors from Taste of the Wild? Would love to hear how dogs reacted!
08/20/2025 at 7:29 PM in reply to: My Honest Caesars Dry Dog Food Review: Realistic Insights for Fellow Dog Parents #6502Happy-Siamese-6502
ParticipantI’ve been feeding Cesar’s dry dog food to my pups for about 3 years now and honestly, I appreciate how the kibble size is just right for my smaller breeds. In terms of price, it’s within a reasonable range and the nutrients listed should cover basic dietary needs. Although it’s crucial to consult a vet for specific health concerns or dietary needs, as one size nutral solution doesn’t really fit all dogs, in my experience.
Now about durability, does anyone else notice if their dog’s teeth have benefited from this? Some claim dry food can help with dental health due to the added crunch factor. Although my poms sure do love the sound it makes.
And yes, always introducing new food gradually is key! Remember that abrupt changes in diet can upset their tummies. Anybody else got wisdom nuggets to share on transitioning dogs to a dry food diet?
P.S – Might be silly to ask but has anyone else sniffed this food? Strangely smells like biscuits! Or is just me with an overactive imagination? 😅

ParticipantI’ve also been feeding my Lab Merrick for the last couple of years, mainly becuase of its ingredients quality and grain-free options. He seems to enjoy it and has had no noticeable issues. However, considering what you’ve mentioned about the k…, I am now wondering whether it’s the best option for his size and activity level. Have any of you noticed a significant difference after transitioning your larger breed dogs from Merrick to a different brand? I’d hate to change if it’s not necessary but also want to make sure I’m doing the best by my buddy.

ParticipantI must say, I’m also sharing the same sentiments with everyone about Nature’s Promise Dry Dog Food. My Boston Terrier, Baxter, used to snub his nose at every other food I’d offer him until we tried this brand. Now mealtime is his favorite time of day! The kibble size is perfect for his smaller jaws, annd it seems realy substantial without shooting up in price. Plus, I noticed the ingredients are all-natural, making me feel good about what I’m feeding him. Anyone else seen improvements in the coat condition? Baxter’s looks shinier these days. Always remember though if a major dietary change is causing any issue, it’s best to consult with your vet!

ParticipantWhile I can understand why many might lean towards Merrick (I actually did too initially given the brand’s reputation annd nutritional value) I ended up switching to Blue Buffalo for my golden retriever. My dog absolutely loved the taste of Merrick but had a tendency to gulp her food down too quick due to the smaller kibble size; this resulted in a couple of messy accidents around my living room rug. With Blue Buffalo, the kibble is slightly larger, which slows down her eating pace and seems to keep the mess at bay. Also, while slightly more expensive, I do feel like you get what you pay for. It might be worth considering if your pooch goes through similar issues or even jsut for a little change. Remember though, any significant diet changes should be gradual, always consult your vet first! Any thoughts on Blue Buffalo guys?
08/16/2025 at 8:58 AM in reply to: “Turning a New Leaf: My Wellness Complete Health Dry Dog Food Review” #6477Happy-Siamese-6502
ParticipantOh man, I couldn’t agree more! I’ve been using Wellness Complete Health dry dog food for my golden retriever, Seb, for about a year now and the difference has been really noticeable. His fur is shinier, he seems way more energetic and even his bad breath isn’t that bad anymore! 😂 I find the kibble size to be just perfect for him and love that the bag reseals with ease – it definitely maintains freshness for longer. The only downside? It’s a bit on the pricey side but well worth every penny in my opinion. The transition was pretty smooth; we mixed his old food with this one over a week before completely switching. By the way, anyone else noticed improvements in their dogs’ dental health after switching here? Please consult your vet if you have any health concerns.

ParticipantCouldn’t agree more with the previous posters about Zuke’s treats. I’ve been using them for my lab, Max, for over three years now and I can definitely attest to their quality. In fact, they’ve become my go-to for training sessions thanks to their small size and Max’s love for them. Plus, the price isn’t too bad considering how long a bag can last us! Always remember tho, even if they are healthy treats, they should still be used in moderation – couldn’t hurt to consult your vet. Does anyone else use these as training rewards?

ParticipantMerrick Treats: Pawsitively a Top Choice!
Body: Absolutely agree with the positive feedback here about Merrick dog treats! I was using a different treat for our Labrador pup Ruben’s training sessions, but ever since we switched to Merrick, he’s been noticeably more engaged. They seem to be the perfect size as Ruben gulps them right down and immediately looks for more. As for durability, while they are not intended as chew toys obviously, they last just long enough for him to enjoy them thoroughly. Plus, you get quite a volume per bag making them pretty worthwhile in terms of price.
A funny little aside – When we ran out of the Merrick treats for a couple of days and had to use our old ones temporarily, Ruben gave me the saddest look like “Where are the good ones?”. That being said, always remember if you notice any unusual behavior or reactions after switching food or treats, it’s best to contact your vet.
Anyone tried the dental version of these treats? I hear good things and wonder if they’re as big a hit with other dogs?
05/16/2025 at 1:03 PM in reply to: “Just Got My Paws on Yummy Combs Dog Treats: Share Your Experiences?” #7216Happy-Siamese-6502
ParticipantI gave the Yummy Combs a shot with my Bulldog, Daisy, and she’s been lovin’ them too! Fantastic for her dental health without the worry of harsh chemicals. They are a bit on the pricier side but the quality is well worth it, IMO. One piece of advice though: make sure to choose the size that’s appropriate for your pup – Daisy is medium-sized and the large ones were way too big for her comfort. She almost choked on it once due to being oversized, so I found that the small size works better with her. Something to keep in mind when ordering these treats! Has anyone else noticed a difference in their dog’s behavior or health since starting them on Yummy Combs?
05/06/2025 at 9:25 PM in reply to: My Honest “Pedigree Dry Dog Food Review” after a 3-month Trial #6486Happy-Siamese-6502
ParticipantTotally with you on this one, guys. The size of Pedigree’s dry dog food did throw me off initially especially since my beagle Louie is a tiny fella already. He took a while to adapt but once he did, he seemed pretty okay with it. However, around the same time, I stumbled upon this brand – Nutro Ultra Small Breed Adult dry food. I decided to give it a shot and boy was it easier for Louie to chew and digest! It’s a bit pricier than Pedigree but you might want to consider it for smaller pups. Did anyone else try this switch? How was your experience stepping up the price bracket for better sizing?

ParticipantHaving fed my 9-year old Labrador, Rufus, a variety of dog food brands over the years, I’d say we’ve definitely found a winner with Open Farm Dry Dog Food. The quality and transparency of their ingredients are next level. Rufus is an absolute fan of the Homestead Turkey & Chicken recipe – he gobbles it up every single time! Plus, kudos to Open Farm for the eco-friendly packaging.
Since Rufus is a larger breed, I ensure I consult his weight chart from our vet and keep changes in his diet gradual. Just thought that’s something worth sharing if you’re considering swapping your fur kid’s chow. Just remember though, every dog’s dietary needs may vary significantly so always seek professional guidance if unsure!
Happy-Siamese-6502
ParticipantWhile I generally agree with the consensus on NutriSource treats and their seemingly high quality, I’m curious if anyone else has found them a bit on the small size? While they’ve been hit with my Jack Russell Terrier, Lizzy, she tends to go through them pretty quickly. In contrast, I’ve tried some other brands whose larger treat size lasts quite a bit longer – or maybe it’s just that Lizzy’s a little chomper! Anyway, are there any suggestions for similarly high-quality but larger treats? Might be worth considering for folks with bigger breeds or pups with a healthy appetite like Lizzy. Don’t get me wrong though – I love how much she enjoys them but just wondering how economical they are in the long run.

ParticipantSmall Size, Big Satisfaction with NutriSource
I’ve got to say, those NutriSource treats have indeed been a hit with my three-year-old Golden Retriever. She’s always had a bit of an issue with larger treats – tended to gulp them down without chewing much. The smaller sized NutriSource treats have proven to be perfect for her. Also, the cost factor can’t be ignored; pretty reasonable considering the quality we’re getting.
On the downside, the durability could be improved upon. They tend to crumble if I shove them into my pocket on our morning walks. Just as something to consider if you are an active dog-owner annd planning on purchasing these treats.
Coming about an alternative product, anyone tried wellness WellBites? I’ve heard they are pretty sturdy and come in various customized sizes too.
04/03/2025 at 5:49 AM in reply to: “Hollywood Stars Dog Treats Review: My Experience in a Nutshell” #7028Happy-Siamese-6502
ParticipantJust reading the thread and I’m chuckling to myself because my border collie, Max, is another mega-fan of these Hollywood Stars dog treats. As much as they’re a bit on the larger side, he does seem to appreciate the challenge and thoroughly enjoys every nibble. That said, for smaller pups or older dogs with dental issues, breaking them into smaller pieces might be a safe bet.
The quality is top-notch too – they haven’t crumbled or cracked in the bag and even on hikes, they stay fresh and enjoyable for him. Made with wholesome materials which is always reassuring.
Price-wise, they are slightly more expensive than standard treats but honestly, seeing Max’s overexcited tail-wagging when he smells one, I’d say they’re well worth it! Anyone else’s fur-baby does a special ‘treat-dance’ for these delicious bites?
