ParticipantHas anyone else noticed fewer ingredients listed on the bag of late? I’ve been using Orijen treats for years with my three pugs. They’re all fans of the flavor and I love that the treats are biologically appropriate and grain-free. Yet, when I picked up a new bag the other week, I noticed the ingredient list seemed shorter. Maybe it’s just me misremembering? Still, they remain a preferred choice due to their high-quality protein content. Would gladly love to hear from folks who’ve found other nutrient-dense treat options as well!

ParticipantSo, we’re all just gonna gloss over the size inconsistencies of these treats, huh? I’m sure my Dalmatian, Spot, isn’t the only pooch whose treat expectations have been crushed by tapping into a bag only to find it filled with dwarf-sized bits. He gives me this look like ‘Seriously, dad?’ Feel for the big fellas out there! But hey – they do love getting their chompers around the Good ’n’ Fun flavors. Anyone else experience the size thing or is it just us?

ParticipantAbsolutely agree that Merrick dry food has a great mix of high-quality ingredients. In fact, my German Shepard, Max, has been thriving on it for over 3 years now. His coat looks healthier and he seems much more energetic. The only thing that really bugs is is the price point. I beleive in giving my dog the best, but sometimes it feels like a hefty sum considering the quantity. Other owners who feed thier dogs Merrick – have you tried buying in bulk or from specific stores to save costs? If so, how’s your experience been? Platforms you could recommend?

ParticipantOh, the saga of a finicky eater, a tale as old as time! So your furry little gourmand finally took to Taste of the Wild Dry Dog Food, eh? Welcome to the club! My snobby Schnauzer also turned his snout up at everything else until we stumbled upon this gem. Speaking of size, their kibble is small enough for tiny jaws and big enough for our chunkier friends. Also, I appreciate that it’s grain-free! At first, Chester thought he was being served a five-star meal every breakfast and dinner. But the real winner here is my wallet—great quality without needing to sell a kidney for it. You know what they say ‘happy dog, happy life’ or something along those lines. P.S., give them slow introductions if switching foods; sudden changes can lead to upset tummies. Always keep an eye on your dog’s reactions and consult with a vet when necessary.
So who else in this forum has had success with their fussy eaters trying out this brand? Let’s dish some deets!

ParticipantOh, absolutely! Who would’ve thought that somethin’ as simple as a dog food switch could make such a difference? My formerly finicky Poodle embraced Wellness Complete Health dry dog food with an enthusiasm I haven’t seen since the day he discovered squeaky toys. And, ain’t it just great to see that the kibble size is perfect for small breeds? No more struggling with oversized pieces. Price wise? Listen, it’s worth every penny. Gotta say, my pooch even has this shiny coat goin’ on now, really dazzling! But hey, this is just anecdotal evidence. Always consult your vet before making dietary changes, folks! Now, has anyone else noticed their dogs having healthier coats after switching to Wellness?
07/04/2025 at 4:08 PM in reply to: “Transitioning to Zuke’s Dog Treats: A Comprehensive Review” #6710smiling-catmom-4388
ParticipantAbsolutely agree with all the praise for Zuke’s treats! I’ve been using them for my poodle, Bella, for about 6 months now. She absolutely loves the Peanut Butter & Oats recipe. They’re not just delicious as she would say (if she could talk), but also mini-sized which is perfect for her small mouth and helps with portion control. Plus, they are great for training purposes without worrying about overfeeding her.
One tip though, make sure to close the bag properly after each use to keep them fresh! And as always, if you notice any changes in your dog’s behavior or general well-being after introducing new food or treats, it’s best to have a chat with your vet. Has anyone tried their other flavors? How does your pooch like them compared to the peanut butter & oats?
05/28/2025 at 1:20 PM in reply to: “Just Got My Paws on Yummy Combs Dog Treats: Share Your Experiences?” #7230smiling-catmom-4388
ParticipantJust want to share my experience with Yummy Combs aas well. I’ve got an eager-to-please Shih Tzu mix and oh boy, did he take to these treats! They’re perfect in size for smaller breeds like him and seem to be really durable. Plus, the price isn’t too shabby for the quality you’re getting. But ever since I introduced him to Yummy Combs, his favorite pastime has become trying to get at every last bit lodged in those cone spaces. Maybe it’s about the challenge, not just the treat! Anyways, have anyone else noticed their dogs being more attentive or obedient after introducing Yummy Combs into their diet? Remember though, for any sudden behavioral changes, better consult with your vet.
03/15/2025 at 6:09 AM in reply to: “Spoiling My Four-Legged Papillon: A DreamBone Dog Treats Review” #7006smiling-catmom-4388
ParticipantJust chiming in with my take on DreamBone treats. My Black Lab, Dexter, has been devouring these for over a year now. No complaints about durability or size here, they’ve held up great and keep him plenty busy. They’re pretty reasonable price-wise too, especially for the quality on offer.
But just like with any dog treat or chews out there, I always advise folks to monitor their dog while they’re enjoying these chewy treats – every pupper is different after all! Agree with those who said it’s best to consult the vet if you’re unsure.
Sure sounds like our pooches are all DreamBone fans through and through, doesn’t it? Has anyone tried DreamBone’s spin-off products? I noticed some grain-free options that sparked my curiosity recently…Do these measure up to the originals?
03/08/2025 at 10:41 AM in reply to: “Hollywood Stars Dog Treats Review: My Experience in a Nutshell” #7009smiling-catmom-4388
ParticipantI’ve actually been using Hollywood Stars dog treats for a few months now with my Pomeranian, Lulu. The texture of these treats is quite firm and they’re pretty sizeable in comparison to some other brands out there. This has been excellent for Lulu’s dental hygiene as it encourages her to chew more before swallowing. They’re cost-effective too!
One slight issue we did encounter, though, was the sizing. If you’ve got a smaller breed like ours, I’d recommend breaking them in half just so that your pup doesn’t get overwhelmed. Besides that, they’ve been great and Lulu hasn’t had any adverse reactions to them.
As always though, if your dog experiences any unusual symptoms after consuming a new product, it’s best to consult a vet! My question is: have any other small breed owners experienced this issue with the size of the treats? Or was it just us?
smiling-catmom-4388
ParticipantSorry to hear Rex wasn’t crazy about the Blue dog treats! I find them a tad larger for my own medium-sized pup, Tessie. Is it possible Rex found them too big to chew as well? We had to break Tessie’s treats into smaller bits until she got used to them. Also, the hardness was an issue initially but now she seems to enjoy the challenge it provides. Did you tried crushing them a little? Maybe some gentle introduction steps might help Rex warm up to these treats. Also, it didn’t break my bank so I figured why not try for a bit longer? Anyway, just thinking out loud, your experience might be different though!
smiling-catmom-4388
ParticipantAbsolutely! Aldi’s treats are certainly a hit for affordability, and my husky mix devours them with no problem. However, if your dog is like mine and of the larger breed, you might find the size of these treats a tad small. I found myself giving him three or four at a time during training sessions.
After doing some searching, I discovered the Costco Kirkland Signature’s Dog Biscuits. They’re a smidge pricier than those from Aldi but significantly larger – perfect for the big boys n’ girls out there and still fairly affordable for their size. Has anyone tried them? Would love to hear other opinions on this alternative option!

ParticipantThrilled with the Fresh Kisses Experience: An Added Voice on their Praises!
I’m thrilled to be joining the Fresh Kisses admiration club! True as you’ve all shared, these treats have been a real game-changer for my finicky fur-baby, Sophie. She used to turn up her nose at most store-bought treats on offer, but now she practically does backflips when she sees me reach for that Fresh Kisses bag.
One thing I want to stress is the value of starting small. While it’s tempting to get the larger size for your big doggo, it might be smarter to start with a smaller pack – Sophie took some time getting used to this new treat in her routine and wasn’t sure at first. This also helps manage any personal diet concerns you may have with your pooch.
Finally, don’t let the price scare you off. They’re absolutely worth every penny for quality ingredients and the joy they bring to our four-legged friends! Has anyone else started small and gradually moved up sizes? Let’s keep this dialogue paws-itive and engaging for everyone! And remember, always consult a vet for any dietary related concerns or doubts you may have.

ParticipantI’ve also been using Canidae for my dogs over the past decade and noticed a big difference in thier energy levels. Even my picky eaters gobbled it up without hesitation! How are you finding the pricing in your area though? I’m buying it online, but I’ve heard some people find it less expensive in stores, which is not the case for me. Anyone else noticing discrepancies in prices depending on location?
smiling-catmom-4388
Participantthere, fellow Full Moon aficionados! I too have been rather pleased with these treats as a little incentive during training sessions with my stubborn Beagle, Bella. The smaller size of the treats seems to evoke just enough interest without overwhelming her. However, for anyone who has a fur baby with more extensive dietary restrictions, try giving Zuke’s Mini Naturals a go! They’re grain-free and come in a variety of flavors. Bella couldn’t resist them when she was struggling with some food allergies (all cleared now, thanks to our vet!). Does anyone else have recommendations for quality grain-free options?
11/16/2024 at 11:32 AM in reply to: “Honest Nutro Dog Treats Review: Efficient and Value for Money, Perhaps?” #6810smiling-catmom-4388
ParticipantJust swinging in to add my two cents about these Nutro treats. I’ve had my Siberian Husky, Max, for around four years, and these are one of his absolute favorites. They fit perfect for his size and he’s never had trouble chomping down on them.
Here’s a little tip that’s worked wonders for our training sessions: Use the Nutro minis! The smaller size keeps him motivated without quickly filling him up during long training.
The only downside? Well, I’ve noticed as a limited ingredient treat, they’re a little pricier than some other options. But for the product’s quality and how much Max loves them – I’d say it’s well worth the extra dollars.
Of course, if you’re concerned about budget or dietary restrictions, always consult with your vet first to find what’s best for your pup!
