05/30/2025 at 6:47 PM in reply to: Experiences with Triumph Dog Treats: A Comprehensive Review #7353
smartpetlover4263
ParticipantI too have been using Triumph Dog Treats for about a month, initially worried that the size might be too large for my teething Shih Tzu puppy, Molly. Surprisingly, they turned out to be just right and she absolutely loves ’em! The price is also quite reasonable considering the good quality and durability of these treats.
Just a tip though; it’s always important to supervise chew time to avoid any potential choking hazards with smaller puppies. This rule applies regardless of the treat brand or size.
One question I do have, however – has anyone else noticed their dog’s breath smelling better after regularly using Triumph treats? Molly doesn’t seem to have that typical “doggy breath” anymore but I’m not certain if this change is directly attributable to the treats. Would love anyone else’s insight on this. Thanks!
05/27/2025 at 4:46 AM in reply to: “Bocce Bakery Dog Treats Review: Incredibly Tasty or Just Hype?” #6664smartpetlover4263
ParticipantJust wanted to add my two cents. I have three dogs of various breeds, and they absolutely adore Bocce Bakery’s dog treats. They’re a tad pricy compared to the standard stuff you’d find at the pet store, but considering the high-quality ingredients they use, I’d say it’s worth every penny. If you’re looking to spoil your fur babies, Bocce Bakery is definitely the way to go.
My Labrador Retriever especially enjoys their PB& Bacon flavor. It’s a nice balance for him because he’s notoriously picky about his snacks but these little goodies are irresistible apparently! Just remember, even though they are tasty, they’re still treats. Don’t overfeed your pups with these – moderation is key. If there happens to be any digestive upset after changing up their snacking routine, always consult with your vet just to be safe.
Has anyone tried giving their dogs other flavors from Bocce Bakery? I’m always looking for new ways to spoil my puppers!

ParticipantI’ve been using the Tractive GPS Tracker for about 6 months now with my energetic Springer Spaniel, and I’ve found it to be quite robust and reliable. Agree with previous comments on sizing, initially it seemed a little bulky on my boy, but he’s gotten used to it and doesn’t seem bothered anymore.
However, I must say that I had a fair share of connectivity issues in some rural areas, which was a bit of a bummer when we took our camping trips. But customer service was pretty helpful when I contacted them about this.
As for the material, it’s durable but my dog has somehow managed to graft a few minor scratches onto it – doesn’t affect functionality though.
In terms of cost-effectiveness vs durability, you might want to consider the Fi dog collar as well. It’s got stellar reviews for its chew-resistant design and offers similar functionality. Any other Tractive users have the same experience or is my pooch jsut super active?

ParticipantAgreed! Merrick Treats Really Deliver
Body: It’s refreshing to see so much positive feedback about Merrick treats. I’ve been using them for my lab, Bella, over the past couple of years, and boy does she love them!
The size of these treats is indeed a game-changer. They’re small enough to not overfeed her but substantial enough to be used as an effective training reward. When it comes to durability, they don’t break apart in my pocket or bag easily – a Godsend if you ask me!
Price-wise, they might seem a bit on the high side at first glance. But considering the quality and health consciousness that goes into these treats, I believe every penny is worthed.
Any newcomers starting Bella on Merrick, remember to introduce any new treats gradually – this way they can get used to the rich taste profile. Also, anybody experienced food coloration changes with their dogs after using Merrick treatS?
Remember folks, as much as our fur friends love these treats, always maintain a balanced diet and regular check-ups with your vet for optimal health!

ParticipantI’ve also been using Merrick treats for my pair of sprightly spaniels and they too seem to relish the taste! However, I did notice that some of the chunkier pieces can be a bit big for smaller dogs to chew on. Last week, one of my spaniels had a hard time breaking down a particularly large piece. For small or elderly dogs with weaker teeth or jaws, I’d definitely recommend checking out Zuke’s Mini Naturals. They are great quality, similar price point but smaller and easier to chew. It might be worth giving them a try in addition to the Merrick’s! Has anyone else had this experience with larger treat sizes?
05/09/2025 at 9:41 AM in reply to: Let’s Talk Taste & Nutrition: My Nudges Natural Dog Treats Review #7313smartpetlover4263
ParticipantI’ve been feedin’ my lively Border Collie, Jack, Nudges Natural Dog treats for a good while now. The size and texture are on point. They’re large enough to satisfy Jack’s “chomp-chomp” desire but soft enough for a comfortable chew. Considering their high quality nutritional aspects, I find the price reasonable.
Here’s a li’l bit of advice from my side, especially if your dog is the eager type like Jack. Use these treats in moderation during training sessions – they work magic when used as a reward for learning new tricks or behaviour correction. It also avoids over snacking between meals.
Has anyone tried their grillers variant? Are they any good? Delighted with the Jerky Cuts but thought about mixing it up a bit! I’ll definitely second the idea of consulting a vet if you have any health concerns related to feeding habits though. Cheers all!
05/02/2025 at 12:39 AM in reply to: Upgrading to Freshpet Dry Dog Food – A Review from my Experience #6450smartpetlover4263
ParticipantYou’re right about the kibble size of Freshpet dry dog food. My Beagle mix, Max, found them a little too large to comfortably chew on. On the positive side, the freshness of the food is undoubtedly noticeable! We switched about half a year ago and it really appeals to Max’s picky nature. I’d recommend trying smaller softer kibble brands if your pooch struggles with larger sizes, like Royal Canin or Hill’s Science Diet. Always worth a chat with your vet to get a diet plan tailored to your buddy’s needs tho! Has anyone else experimented with switching brands for their fussy eaters?

ParticipantTotally agree with the positive feedback on Open Farm Dry Dog Food. I’ve been giving this to my 6-year old Boxer, Bella, for about a year now and she can’t get enough of it. I appreciate the quality ingredients and grain-free option, and not having to strain my wallet too much just to provide her with a healthy meal. And don’t even get me started on the packaging; it’s sturdy, resealable and easy to store. All in all, Open Farm is a game-changer compared to other brands we’ve tried.
On a side note – anyone else noticed their dogs having shinier coats after switching? Just an observation with Bella, but thought I’d ask! As always though, for any persistent food reactions or concerns, it’s best to consult your vet!

ParticipantAbsolutely concur with you on the reliability of Garmin’s Dog GPS! I remember once taking my 10-year-old Boxer, Bruno, into the woods for some exploration and him disappearing off trail. My heart dropped but thanks to this tracker we found our boy pretty quickly. The device is also fairly tough and waterproof – it survived Bruno’s swim in a muddy pond without flinching.
Anybody facing issues with the size- It fits large breeds perfectly but can be a bit bulky for smaller dogs. I’d probably stick to it if your dog is medium-sized or larger. And oh, make sure your dog gets comfortable with it before any long adventures.
Also, has anyone tried using the training features? Some guidance would be appreciated on how effective they are, and any tips on getting started with them.
02/26/2025 at 6:15 AM in reply to: “Spoiling My Four-Legged Papillon: A DreamBone Dog Treats Review” #7002smartpetlover4263
ParticipantCouldn’t agree more with the DreamBone fan club here! My two Border Collies have been gobbling them up for a little over a year now, and it’s still their favorite treat time. They seem to love the texture and the size is perfect for them to handle.
The price doesn’t make my wallet cry too much either which is always a plus. Durability-wise they are pretty sturdy, lasting longer than most other treats we’ve tried. Don’t get me started on how easy it made our training times – you really get your dog’s attention when these bad boys come out!
Is anyone else buying them in bulk like me? Also, has anyone tried freezing them for those hot summer days?
smartpetlover4263
ParticipantWell, well, in my nearly two decades of playing fetch, grooming, and serving as the perennial poop-scooper for my motley crew of furry friends, I thought I’d seen it all! Then along came Aldi dog treats. Picked a pack up on a whim – the price was hard to ignore- and boy, what an unexpected surprise. As for size, they’re perfect for both my regal Retriever and puckish Pomeranian. Somehow manages to tempt the picky palate of poodles to the ravenous Rottweilers – quite a feat I tell ya!
While these aren’t the sturdiest of chews (don’t expect them to double as dental cleaners or occupy your pups for hours), they do seem to have a Homer-Simpsonesque “Mmm, donuts” effect on my lot. They practically levitate at the rustle of the packet!!
In terms of nutrition though, remember they are treats, not main sources of sustenance. Always balance out with wholesome food. Any tummy troubles – straight to the vet you go!
Just outta curiosity… anyone else got furry kids who think these are manna from heaven? Or got any DIY dog treat recipes?

ParticipantTotally see why you’re loving DreamBone Dog treats – they are incredibly popular in the canine world! However, I personally prefer using Yak Snak Dog Chews for my energetic Lab. They’re all-natural, long-lasting and perfect for dogs who are strong chewers (if you’ve got a Lab, you know what I mean!). Even better, they don’t splinter like some other treats out there. Just make sure to keep an eye on your dog while he’s chewing on them. Anyone else tried these yet? Let me know your thoughts if you have!
02/19/2025 at 6:51 PM in reply to: “Spoiling My Four-Legged Papillon: A DreamBone Dog Treats Review” #6990smartpetlover4263
ParticipantI have to chime in as I’ve been using DreamBone treats for my 7-year-old Boxer for over a year now. Absolutely agree about the size being just right for medium-sized breeds, too. However, if you’re on a tight budget, these may not be the best choice, they can run a bit high compared to other stuff out there. But one thing is undeniable – their durability. My Boxer had always been quite an aggressive chewer and many dog treats would not stand a chance! With DreamBones though, it’s a different story. Even after hours of frenzied gnawing, those things still maintain their shape and keep him occupied which is something I value greatly, gives me some peace and quiet for a while! If you’ve got an eager chewer like mine, they could possibly fit the bill perfectly. Just remember, always supervise when you first introduce new treats. Though not an issue for me, every dog’s digestive system handles new foods differently so monitor them the first few times around.
smartpetlover4263
ParticipantCompelling conversation going on here and I can’t help but chime in! I’ve been a dog dad for just over two decades now and my Golden Retriever, Daisy, and I have tried our fair share of treats. We recently tried out Fresh Kisses Dog Treats as well and Daisy absolutely loves them. They’re a good size—just right for her to chew but not so small that she might choke. One slight downside though is the price; they are a bit on the pricier side compared to other treats we’ve used. As an alternative, you could consider making your own dog treats if you’re on a budget or prefer to completely control what ingredients your fur baby is consuming. Has anyone else tried this? What were your experiences with homemade treats?
12/01/2024 at 4:00 PM in reply to: “Turning Over a New Leaf with Greenies Dog Treats: A Comprehensive Review” #7247smartpetlover4263
ParticipantAbsolutely concur with the high praise for Greenies dog treats! I’ve had my Lab, Bailey chomping on these for a good while now. They come in several size options, which is super helpful, especially as she’s a rather large pooch. Durability has never been an issue as they seem to withstand her vigorous chewing session pretty well.
In terms of cost, Greenies may seem pricey compared to other treats but the quality truly shines through and justifies it. If you give them during training sessions, they work wonders because dogs really seem to appreciate the taste and texture. Just be sure not to overdo it – moderation is still key even with treats that have added health benefits!
Have any one else found their dogs’ overall energy level seems improved after introducing Greenies? Bailey certainly seems to have more pep in her step after she started having them regularly. Might just be a coincidence, but wanted to hear other owners’ perspectives on this! Be mindful though – if you see dramatic changes in your dog behavior or health, better reach out to your vet just to be safe.
