I’ve had a great experience with Good ‘n’ Fun dog treats as well. They’re just the right size for my Cocker Spaniel, Oliver, and seem to be quite durable compared to others we’ve tried in the past. Oliver is known to rip through treats very quickly, but these lasted long enough for him to have some serious fun! Plus, they’re not overly pricey which is great for our budget.

Bought them initially to work on his search and retrieve skills, and they have been a game-changer. A word of advice? Use these treats in moderation especially during training – you don’t want your pup getting too full or losing interest because they know there’s always more where that came from!

Anyone else use these treats in training their dogs? I’d love to hear how it helped. Remember, for any dietary concerns, it’s best to consult your vet.

In my experience, while Merrick has high-quality ingredients and a good reputation, I’ve found the kibble size to be fairly large for smaller dogs. My two Spaniels struggled a bit with it initially, although they got used to it over time. On an alternate note—If anyone is looking for a similar brand that offers smaller kibble sizes, you might want to try Canidae. They have a range of formulas based on breed size, which can make meal times easier for those pups with tinier teeth! Does anyone else have suggestions for good small-kibble options?

Reviewing After Years of Royal Canin
Body: Totally agree with all the positive vibes about Royal Canin. I’ve had my Labrador, Max, on it for over a decade now, and he’s never shown any signs of being bored or uninterested in his food. Max is a pretty large lad, and so he appreciates the larger-sized kibble of the Maxi Adult range; plus, it helps keep his gnashers nice and clean! While some might argue that it’s on the pricier side, I believe you’re truly paying for top-tier quality. It’s worth mentioning that each breed’s nutritional needs can be quite different; have you guys noticed any particular varieties your dogs prefer within the Royal Canin range?

You know, I’ve recently switched over to using Zuke’s Mini Naturals Training Treats for my Yorkie, Toby. The size of the Milk-Bone treats was a bit too large for him and he seemed to struggle a bit munching on them. However, with Zuke’s, I noticed that the bite-sized pieces were just perfect for Toby’s small mouth – plus, they have a variety of flavors which are great for keeping him interested! Funny story – Toby has now started ‘dancing’ every time I take out the Zuke’s bag indicating that he really loves them. Isn’t it amazing how our pups will let us know what works best for them? Nonetheless, if you’ve got a smaller breed like mine, you might want to give Zuke’s a shot! Anyone else have similar “picky eater” experiences?

I’ve been a fan of Authority Dog Treats for around 4 years now. I got my retriever, Bailey, on them when he was jsut a pup annd they’ve become a staple in our rewarding and training routine. They’re the right size for him to chew easily – not too big but still substantial, and they last pretty long even considering Bailey’s powerful jaws!

For price point compared to quality, I believe these treats are unbeatable. My one gripe would be that they can get a tad crumbly sometimes which isn’t ideal when I want to take them along for walks or outdoor training sessions. So for those times, I prefer using more durable treat options (like rubber Kong toys filled with snack) that can withstand the adventure!

What does everybody else use during their outdoor sessions? Are there any particular brands you’d recommend for more robust treats?

I’m absolutely in agreement with the positive reviews of Authority Dog Treats. I’ve been using these for my Rottweiler, Bruno, and he wolfs them down like there’s no tomorrow! What I really appreciate about these treats is their convenient size – they’re not too big, not too small, just enough for a little reward or distraction. Plus, even with Bruno’s mighty jaws, they hold up well and don’t crumble easily. In terms of price, you get what you pay for – solid quality without breaking the bank. A word of advice tho, while these seem to be a big hit with our furry friends, always remember to regulate treat consumption! It’s easy for them to gobble up more than necessary because they love the taste so much. Anyone else notice their dogs gobbling them up quicker than usual?

I totally get why many of you folks are digging the Blue Buffalo treats. I gave it a shot with my husky, Koda, but found that they were a bit too big for his liking. So, I switched to Zuke’s Mini Naturals Dog Treats and he absolutely loves them! More bite-sized and easy for him to digest. In terms of cost, they are pretty comparable to Blue Buffalo. Anyone else have pups who prefer smaller sized treats?

I too have been using Triumph Dog Treats for about a month, initially worried that the size might be too large for my teething Shih Tzu puppy, Molly. Surprisingly, they turned out to be just right and she absolutely loves ’em! The price is also quite reasonable considering the good quality and durability of these treats.

Just a tip though; it’s always important to supervise chew time to avoid any potential choking hazards with smaller puppies. This rule applies regardless of the treat brand or size.

One question I do have, however – has anyone else noticed their dog’s breath smelling better after regularly using Triumph treats? Molly doesn’t seem to have that typical “doggy breath” anymore but I’m not certain if this change is directly attributable to the treats. Would love anyone else’s insight on this. Thanks!

Just wanted to add my two cents. I have three dogs of various breeds, and they absolutely adore Bocce Bakery’s dog treats. They’re a tad pricy compared to the standard stuff you’d find at the pet store, but considering the high-quality ingredients they use, I’d say it’s worth every penny. If you’re looking to spoil your fur babies, Bocce Bakery is definitely the way to go.

My Labrador Retriever especially enjoys their PB& Bacon flavor. It’s a nice balance for him because he’s notoriously picky about his snacks but these little goodies are irresistible apparently! Just remember, even though they are tasty, they’re still treats. Don’t overfeed your pups with these – moderation is key. If there happens to be any digestive upset after changing up their snacking routine, always consult with your vet just to be safe.

Has anyone tried giving their dogs other flavors from Bocce Bakery? I’m always looking for new ways to spoil my puppers!

    Agreed! Merrick Treats Really Deliver

Body: It’s refreshing to see so much positive feedback about Merrick treats. I’ve been using them for my lab, Bella, over the past couple of years, and boy does she love them!

The size of these treats is indeed a game-changer. They’re small enough to not overfeed her but substantial enough to be used as an effective training reward. When it comes to durability, they don’t break apart in my pocket or bag easily – a Godsend if you ask me!

Price-wise, they might seem a bit on the high side at first glance. But considering the quality and health consciousness that goes into these treats, I believe every penny is worthed.

Any newcomers starting Bella on Merrick, remember to introduce any new treats gradually – this way they can get used to the rich taste profile. Also, anybody experienced food coloration changes with their dogs after using Merrick treatS?

Remember folks, as much as our fur friends love these treats, always maintain a balanced diet and regular check-ups with your vet for optimal health!

I’ve also been using Merrick treats for my pair of sprightly spaniels and they too seem to relish the taste! However, I did notice that some of the chunkier pieces can be a bit big for smaller dogs to chew on. Last week, one of my spaniels had a hard time breaking down a particularly large piece. For small or elderly dogs with weaker teeth or jaws, I’d definitely recommend checking out Zuke’s Mini Naturals. They are great quality, similar price point but smaller and easier to chew. It might be worth giving them a try in addition to the Merrick’s! Has anyone else had this experience with larger treat sizes?

I’ve been feedin’ my lively Border Collie, Jack, Nudges Natural Dog treats for a good while now. The size and texture are on point. They’re large enough to satisfy Jack’s “chomp-chomp” desire but soft enough for a comfortable chew. Considering their high quality nutritional aspects, I find the price reasonable.

Here’s a li’l bit of advice from my side, especially if your dog is the eager type like Jack. Use these treats in moderation during training sessions – they work magic when used as a reward for learning new tricks or behaviour correction. It also avoids over snacking between meals.

Has anyone tried their grillers variant? Are they any good? Delighted with the Jerky Cuts but thought about mixing it up a bit! I’ll definitely second the idea of consulting a vet if you have any health concerns related to feeding habits though. Cheers all!

You’re right about the kibble size of Freshpet dry dog food. My Beagle mix, Max, found them a little too large to comfortably chew on. On the positive side, the freshness of the food is undoubtedly noticeable! We switched about half a year ago and it really appeals to Max’s picky nature. I’d recommend trying smaller softer kibble brands if your pooch struggles with larger sizes, like Royal Canin or Hill’s Science Diet. Always worth a chat with your vet to get a diet plan tailored to your buddy’s needs tho! Has anyone else experimented with switching brands for their fussy eaters?

Totally agree with the positive feedback on Open Farm Dry Dog Food. I’ve been giving this to my 6-year old Boxer, Bella, for about a year now and she can’t get enough of it. I appreciate the quality ingredients and grain-free option, and not having to strain my wallet too much just to provide her with a healthy meal. And don’t even get me started on the packaging; it’s sturdy, resealable and easy to store. All in all, Open Farm is a game-changer compared to other brands we’ve tried.

On a side note – anyone else noticed their dogs having shinier coats after switching? Just an observation with Bella, but thought I’d ask! As always though, for any persistent food reactions or concerns, it’s best to consult your vet!

Couldn’t agree more with the DreamBone fan club here! My two Border Collies have been gobbling them up for a little over a year now, and it’s still their favorite treat time. They seem to love the texture and the size is perfect for them to handle.

The price doesn’t make my wallet cry too much either which is always a plus. Durability-wise they are pretty sturdy, lasting longer than most other treats we’ve tried. Don’t get me started on how easy it made our training times – you really get your dog’s attention when these bad boys come out!

Is anyone else buying them in bulk like me? Also, has anyone tried freezing them for those hot summer days?
