I absolutely see your points about the size concern with Pedigree’s dry dog food. Back when I first switched to Pedigree for my Saint Bernard, I was frustratedly perplexed at how small those kibbles were in comparison to his colossal bite. However, as time passed, didn’t seem bothered by the size; he loved the taste annd crunched away happily. My only little grumble would be about the price, but seeing my pooch content, it doesn’t hit me that hard. Anyone else found the price a bit steep or is it jsut me being a penny pincher?

Just hopping on this NutriSource train, I’ve also found these treats to be a big hit with my pups! Our oldest, Riley, can be fussy with treats but she took to NutriSource’s flavor like a champ. Not to mention they’re the perfect size for training sessions – not too large that it overpowers the reward mechanism of training and not too small that the dogs feel cheated out. The price is on the higher side, but in my opinion, it’s worth every penny considering how well my dogs respond to them. However, always remember folks to monitor your pet’s reactions and consult a vet if you notice any unusual behavior or health concerns. Has anyone else tried using these treats for obedience training, or is it just me?

Just recently brought home a puppy Lab named Sparky and considering the rave reviews, decided to give Ol’ Roy dog treats a go. The size turned out great for lil’ Sparky’s small mouth and he seems to love their taste. However, they crumbled quite a bit and I found tiny pieces all over my carpet. So while the flavor might be a hit with canines, the messiness could b an issue! Anyone else faced this or is Sparky just an overly enthusiastic chewer?

I’ve got a lab-terrier mix who turns her nose up at anything that isn’t categorically gourmet. Threw a Dingo treat her way one time annd she stared at it like I’d given her a piece of plastic to chew on. Not even the smell could win her over. No success in my house, but they do say every dog is different. Anyone got tips for getting picky eaters more interested in these treats? Maybe I introduced them wrong, or is the size maybe a bit off-putting for smaller breeds?

Oh, totally agree with you all about Wholehearted treats. My stubborn Cocker Spaniel, Muffin, just can’t say no to them! Who would’ve thought she’d turn from being usually indifferent to literally begging for these tiny crunchy delights! A word of caution though: don’t leave the bag unattended. One time, I did and found Muffin had managed to chew open the bag and help herself (talk about a greedy little girl). Now, we have a “treat time” routine where she gets them after her nightly walk. Works like a charm!

Anyone else tried incorporating Wholehearted treats into some training? Any noteworthy improvements?

Absolutely agree with you about Aldi’s dog treats being a great bargain! I grabbed a pack for my Labrador, Sammy and he went nuts over them. I initially thought the size of the treats might be too big for him since he’s used to smaller bite-sized snacks. To my surprise though, they were perfect, not too large but substantial enough to keep him happy.

The packaging stood up well, even after Sammy tried to sneak into the pantry! The zipper top is a godsend—it helps keep the product fresh without me having to transfer them to another container. In terms of durability, let’s just say Sammy tends to gobble his snacks right down. However, these lasted a bit longer, giving me time to grab a cup of coffee while he was busy munching away!

For the price tag, honestly can’t beat it. But always remember each dog is unique and has different dietary preferences or restrictions, so always keep an eye on how your furry friend reacts to new food. Consult your vet if you have any concerns.

By the way, has anyone tried these treats for training? How effective were they in getting your pup’s attention?

Just wanted to toss my hat into this Applaws ring as well. My husky, Snow, loves the chicken flavor. However, I’ve noticed that some grocery stores don’t carry the larger bag sizes like the 15lb one we normally get. It’s a bit of an inconvenience since Snow goes through a bag relatively fast given his size and high-energy nature. Anyone else encounter this same issue or is it just local to me? And if so, where does everyone stock up on Applaws if not from grocery stores?

Well, toss my hat into the Trekker’s Calming Dog Treats bandwagon as well! My hyperactive Jack Russell – aptly named Flash, took to these like a fish to water. Here’s a fun fact, he is notoriously picky too. But with Trekker’s, he doesn’t even sniff around as he usually does before consuming any new treats.

Mind you, they’ve got the size of the treat spot-on for smaller dogs like Flash. It’s been super convenient since you know how it can feel like mission impossible breaking large treats into manageable pieces!

Love them or hate them, but durability? Do you mean how long they stay uneaten? Because, despite their longevity in the package, they seem to disappear almost instantly around here! The price is a bit on the “Yikes!” side but hey, anything for our fur babies’ happiness and calmness.

Just remember not to overdo it – always consult your vet if you have any concerns or questions about portion sizes. And if you ask me if we’re sticking on Team Trekker’s? All signs point to ‘You Betcha’!

Just picked up these Fresh Kisses dog treats for my furry buddy, Buster. We were immediately drawn to them due to their cute heart-shape! These bite-sized treats fit perfectly into Buster’s training routine – they’re the perfect motivation and he just lights up at the sight of that bag. One thing I did notice: they aren’t the most durable treats, Buster gobbles them up in seconds! But as far as price goes, it’s definitely worth a little extra for how much my good boy loves them. As always though, keep an eye on your pup while they’re eating any kind of treat to ensure they’re not swallowing whole or choking. Has anyone else incorporated these into their training? How’d it work out?

fellow dog lovers! I felt compelled to share my experience with Fromm dog treats too, seeing the range of responses here. I’ve been using them for a little over a year for my German Shepherd, Max. He absolutely adores them and never seems to get bored – especially the salmon and sweet potato flavor.

One thing to point out though is their size. They’re a bit on the larger side which works fantastically for Max but smaller dogs might find them harder to handle. It’s always wise to consider your dog’s size and appetite when shopping for treats.

Also worth noting is the price point. They’re not the cheapest option available on the market, but in my honest opinion, you get what you pay for. The quality justifies the cost as far as I’m concerned.

As always, it’s advisable to try a smaller pack first to see if your dog takes a liking to it – remember each pup has its distinct taste preferences! Has anyone tried any other flavors that their pets seem particularly partial to?

I’ve got a couple of big, active Goldens annd they’re big fans of Nutro treats too. The treats are just the right size for them and they seem to love the taste. In my experience, Nutro treats are durable enough not to crumble easily which is great because I often carry them around in my pocket during our walks.

However, I do wonder if anyone else’s dogs have had any digestive issues? My pup Sam started having a bit of a sensitive stomach recently – could it be related or perhaps it’s just his age (he’s 8)? Always a good idea to check with your vet of course If you’re ever unsure about anything diet-related. Anyhow, how do you guys use the treats? As a reward during training sessions or simply as a bonding moment?

Totally agree with what everyone’s saying about the Stewart dog treats! We recently introduced them to our stubborn Beagle, Archie and, well, he’s finally got some motivation during our training sessions. The handy size of the treats are great for teaching portion control too. As an added bonus, these don’t have that typical off-putting dog treat smell which makes it easier for us humans to handle as well! For those considering these, my advice would be to start with a small pack and see how your pup takes to it – every dog’s preferences are unique after all.
