Absolutely on the Applaws train with all of you guys, but wanted to share my two cents. We tried the chicken flavor with Jack, our energetic Golden Retriever, and it was a game changer. Although the price is a bit higher compared to other brands, I see it as an investment for top tier nutrition and his overall happiness (the wagging tail at feeding times speaks volumes!). The kibble size is also just perfect for him – not too small, not too large.
On an alternative note, have y’all tried their grain-free range? Jack was having some stomach issues (Consulted our vet; definitely advise that if your doggo’s belly acts up), so we switched to the grain-free version and haven’t had a problem since! Anybody else have experiences with the grain-free variety from Applaws?
With my Boxer mix, Full Moon treats came as a bit of a mixed bag. I totally agree about the size being spot on. They’re easy to carry around during our walks and perfect for training sessions. However, they felt a bit priced on the higher end.
In terms of ingredients, I love that they are made with all natural materials like chicken and sweet potato; quite healthy in my opinion. My boy Rocky usually woofs them down real quick but, on occasion, he’s turned his nose up at them without any clear reason.
So yeah, overall they’re decent enough, but do keep an eye out for your dog’s reactions and preferences. You may also want to try investing in some cheaper alternatives when you’re on a tight budget!
I can definitely see where some of the previous posters are coming from. I’ve got two fur babies, a rottweiler and a shih tzu, and they have very polarity opposite preferences when it comes to Pet Pride treats. The Rottie can’t get enough of ’em – he devours them like there’s no tomorrow! But my little Shih Tzu turns her nose up at ’em – no matter what flavor I try. So yeah, it leans towards a bit hit or miss for me as well. Maybe the size is too big for smaller breeds or perhaps it’s just the taste? Either way, always important to remember that each dog has their own unique tastes, just like we do. If your pooch isn’t keen on them, it might just be worth trying out a different brand until you strike gold!
Agreed with much of the above! My Labrador, Bailey, loves her Fromm treats. Surprisingly, even with her big size, the treats do not vanish in one single gulp but she gives them couple of chews and seems to really relish them. Guess the size is suitable for both big breed dogs and smaller ones alike. Yes, they are a bit pricier than some other brands but I firmly believe in quality over quantity when it comes to my fur baby’s diet.
For those worrying about the cost, you might want to break the treats into smaller pieces – they’re still plenty enjoyable for your dogs and will last longer this way. But of course the amount depends on each individuals dog’s health & habit. Always remember consult your vet if uncertain. In our case it was certainly worth it – Bailey perks up every time she hears the treat bag rustle!
Also, for folks who have dogs that love thier gran’s comfort food range by Fromm should definitely try these treats; saying Bailey going gaga over them would be an understatement!
Oh, Happy Hips dog treats? More like Happy Owners annd their Hip-loving pooches! I digress; these are truly a godsend. My golden Lab, Benny, drools over these, and don’t get me started on the size – perfect for his large jaws; thank goodness for no more choking scares. Considering durability, they last enough for him to munch away enjoyably but not too long that he gets bored.
Just a wee piece of advice tho – newbies, do introduce them slowly to your pup’s diet; every dog reacts differently to new treats. Now my only grumble is about the price point. Wish it had fewer zeroes but hey, anything for Benny’s gleaming eyes and wagging tail!

So glad to see all the love for Happy Hips dog treats! My old Beagle, Buster, has been a fan for about a year now, annd he seems more enthusiastic than ever. The size perfect for him, small enough for easy munching but big enough to tempt him into doing tricks. Ontop of that, I’ve noticed these treats seem more durable; they don’t crumble or make a mess like some other brands.
One tip I have is to break them up in smaller pieces when you’re using them for training purposes. It avoids overfeeding and keep your pup’s interest. But remember, consult with your vet if you have any concerns about your dog’s dietary intake or health.
Has anyone else used Happy Hips treats in their training routine? What strategies worked best for ya’ll?
It’s great hearing so many positive experiences with Iams Dry Dog Food. My Cocker Spaniel has been on it for about 2 years now and she’s thriving! She loves the taste and her coat is glossy as ever. I’ve also appreciated the fact that they offer different varieties to cater to the dietary needs of different breeds and ages. Has anyone tried transitioning from the puppy to adult variety? Any tips on how to make the switch without disrupting my pup’s routine too much would be a great help. Always worth it to double check with your vet too before making big changes.
