ParticipantOh, the tales I could tell about my Bulldog, Bruno, with these Yummy Combs. My chunky buddy isn’t one to turn his snout up at any treat, but he’s been especially keen on these Hive-Fives. Despite their smaller size being aimed for tinier breeds, they’ve been great for Bruno’s portion control – the big guy doesn’t mind.
And let me tell you, they aren’t lying when they say these treats last longer. Bruno typically treats his toys like an all-you-can-eat buffet and they’re usually gone in no time. But with these? It actually kept him busy for a good while! They do errrrrm…come out the other end rather confetti-ish (a rather colorful backyard surprise), but a minor detail overall. As always though, if your dog has any unusual reactions or health concerns, don’t hesitate to check in with your vet!
As for price, yeah…they’re not the cheapest out there. But considering that it doubles as a form of entertainment for Bruno (and let’s be honest, for me too), I’d still say it’s worth every penny.
Speaking of pennies saved though – pro-tip: if you buy in bulk online you can nab some pretty sweet deals! Any other owners found fun ways to save a few bucks on treats and toys?05/21/2025 at 2:04 PM in reply to: My Honest “Pedigree Dry Dog Food Review” after a 3-month Trial #6497Kindly-Doggo-9167
ParticipantAgreed on the size struggle! I’ve owned a chihuahua for the past year and finding small enough kibble was quite the challenge. After trying out several brands, including Pedigree, I do share your views on their dry dog food. In some ways, pedigree offers readily available and affordable options making it convenient for the hectic lifestyle of a dog owner. However, I’ve found that my pup haci a predilection for softer, smaller pieces that he can munch on without much strain on his tiny teeth. It would be even better if Pedigree could consider making a smaller variant of their dry food specifically catered to toy breeds and puppies. Have any of you tried mashing the kibble up or adding water to soften it? Open to any tips or tricks!

ParticipantYou know, with all the Yummy Combs praise here, I thought I’d also chip in, but from a slightly different perspective. As much as my lab, Finn, absolutely loves Yummy Combs, it’s worth mentioning that they might not be the best choice for those on a budget. When compared to other treats we’ve tried, like Barkin’ Biscuits or Woofalicious Wafers, Yummy Combs are definitely a bit pricier.
That said, the quality and nutritional value of these treats make them worth every penny in my opinion. Plus, Finn can’t get enough of the unique honeycomb design – makes him chew a bit slower which is always a welcome change! So yeah, while they’re more expensive they tick all the boxes for us.
But what about you guys? Have you managed to find any budget-friendly alternatives with similar benefits?

ParticipantI’m glad to hear people are enjoyin’ Yummy Combs dog treats! We’ve tried them with our German Shepherd, Sasha. Being a big breed, I was worried the portion size might be too small but boy, was I wrong! Even though Sasha gobbles up everything, she took her time with these treats. They’re surprisingly durable and great for keeping her engaged.
And about the price? Well, they ain’t cheap but given how long they last and how much Sasha loves ’em, yeah, totally worth it. If your dog loves chewy treats, definitely consider giving Yummy Combs a try.
Anyone else have tips on making the treats last longer? Maybe a stick-in-the-fridge trick or somethin’? Just curious!
05/07/2025 at 5:48 PM in reply to: Let’s Talk Taste & Nutrition: My Nudges Natural Dog Treats Review #7310Kindly-Doggo-9167
ParticipantI’m completely on board with you all about the Nudges Natural Dog Treats. Molly, my spry old Labrador, waits eagerly by the pantry door every afternoon for her Nudges fix. They’re not only well-sized for her big mouth but incredibly soft, which complements her aging teeth nicely. The only drawback is these treats might be a tad pricey for some pup parents. But considering their quality and that they’re made in the USA, I believe they’re worth every penny! Anyone else get this vibe?
Have any of you tried transitioning slower to these treats? I was wondering about an easier intro for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Always best to check with your Vet folks!

ParticipantAnd here we step onto the Whimzees train. Had a joyride with my Dachshund, Tucker. No denying, he went cuckoo over them at first, but boy can it be messy sometimes! Take it from me, please don’t give these to your doggos on the carpet. It could end up looking like a Jackson Pollock painting in kibble form. There’s no harm in trying these out, just remember that ‘treat time’ should ideally be ‘outdoor play time’. Happy munching to your furbabies!

ParticipantOh boy, Whimzees, huh? Been down that road with my Border Collie, Speedy. Don’t get me wrong; the concept is great – natural ingredients and all that jazz. But man oh man, their durability fell jsut short of expectations (Speedy ain’t no Bullmastiff but he got his power jowls). Found them to be a bit on the pricier side too for what they offer. Now I resort to beef gullets; natural, long-lasting, and more affordable. Plus, Speedy’s as thrilled with them as Bruno seems to be with Whimzees!
Anyone else tried beef gullets yet or found a better alternative besides the usual rawhide and all?

ParticipantTotally agree with all of you on the Whimzees train! My stubborn Shih Tzu, Daisy, is a notoriously picky eater but she absolutely loves these treats. I think their size and durability really enhances the chewing experience for her. Plus, bonus, they’re pretty long-lasting as well. The price may be a bit steep as compared to some other treats out there, but the quality you’re getting is completely worth it in my opinion. Ever since Daisy started gnawing at these, she’s been much more occupied and less prone to causing mischief around the house! So who else has experienced similar “peaceful” moments with their fur-babies once they got a Whimzee?

ParticipantI’ve also been using the Garmin Dog GPS for a good two years with my Beagle, Snoopy, and I can’t stress enough how much of a lifesaver it’s been as he’s quite the wanderer. He managed to escape once in our local park and we tracked him down in no time thanks to this little gadget. In terms of size, it doesn’t bother Snoopy at all – I think he actually kinda likes it. My only gripe would be the price but considering the peace of mind, I’d say it’s well worth it.
Quick tip for those considering: make sure you get your pet used to the device at home first before heading outdoors. This helped Snoopy adjust quite seamlessly.
This might be a bit out there, but does anyone know if there are any options for engraving or personalizing the device? Would love to add a personal touch to Snoopy’s tracker!

ParticipantNutriSource Treat Size: Perfect for a Big Dog?
Hey everyone, I have a Great Dane named Rufus and, let me tell you, he can gulp down treats like it’s nobody’s business. Now, my question is about the size of these NutriSource treats. Are they big enough for a large breed like Rufus or would he just eat them without even realizing?
I’ve always found that larger treats work better for training with Rufus since small ones hardly register as a reward to him. On the other hand, I’ve heard so many great things about NutriSource. All input is welcomed! Any other big dog owners who use NutriSource treats?

ParticipantAh, Wag dry dog food… Now there’s a blast from the past. My old Beagle, Max was quite fond of it, but we eventually switched to a different brand. The kibble size was just a bit too large for him. We transitioned to Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula which has smaller bite-sized pieces. Max loved it and seemed easier for him to eat, so mabye worth considering as an alternative? Remember, chowing down should be fun for our fur buddies too! Also, anyone else found wag pieces a lil’ heavy on size or was it just my picky eater Max?
03/20/2025 at 2:44 AM in reply to: “Getting to the bottom of Minties dog treats- A comprehensive review” #7062Kindly-Doggo-9167
ParticipantCouldn’t agree more with you folks! Been buying Minties for my poodle, Bella, also, and they’re just fantastic in keeping her breath fresh. The size is an exact fit for her small mouth and she seems to really like the texture; she hasn’t turned one down yet! For the price point and durability (each treat lasts a good while), I think they’re an excellent choice. Always remember though, treats should be given in moderation as part of a balanced diet so monitor your dog’s total calorie intake. As an aside, Bella’s curious about other flavors, anybody tried a different flavored dental treat that their fur buddies loved? Let’s exchange notes!
03/15/2025 at 8:49 PM in reply to: “Hollywood Stars Dog Treats Review: My Experience in a Nutshell” #7023Kindly-Doggo-9167
ParticipantAbsolutely agree on the point about the size of Hollywood Stars dog treats – not really suitable for our small fur buddies, huh? I’ve got a tiny Chihuahua and those treats seemed almost as big as him – haha! I’ve switched to Nibbles & Bits Mini Treats now. They’re perfect in size for smaller dogs and don’t compromise on taste or nutrition – at least that’s what my happy yappy buddy tells me every time! If you’re looking for more petite options, maybe give them a shot?
03/11/2025 at 11:43 AM in reply to: “Sharing My Personal Dingo Dog Treats Review: A Surprising Experience” #6973Kindly-Doggo-9167
Participantthere, interesting take you’ve got here on the Dingo dog treats. I’ve been using them for my large retriever mix for about a year now, and she goes crazy for them. What I particularly appreciate is their pricing and the fact that they last longer compared to other treats we’ve tried, meaning we get decent bang for our buck.
That said, have you noticed any changes in your dog’s behavior with these treats? Just curious because my Mandy seems to be more motivated during training sesh when we use these as rewards. Couldn’t help but wonder if anyone else noticed this with their furbabies too. Regardless, in case of any adverse effects or behavioral issues, it’s always wise to consult a vet.
03/11/2025 at 11:09 AM in reply to: “Spoiling My Four-Legged Papillon: A DreamBone Dog Treats Review” #7005Kindly-Doggo-9167
ParticipantJust adding my two cents good friends, but for any of the bigger breed owners out there, DreamBone’s size variety certainly nails it! I’ve been a German Shepherd owner for over a decade and finding durable, suitably sized treats has always been harder than anticipated. Cue DreamBone – their Large sticks held up an impressively long time against my boy Max’s determined chomping. Even better, Max absolutely adores the chicken flavor. Over time, they’ve proven to be more cost-effective than some other options we’ve tried. The happy wags and focus when I take out the DreamBone pack? Priceless! For smaller fur babies though, do keep an eye on your pup to ensure the treat doesn’t pose a choking hazard. Might be worth discussing suitable treat sizes with your vet!
