Just chiming in here with my take. I’ve got a West Highland Terrier, wee little guy but full of energy. I was wary about getting the Pawfit 3 as I wasn’t sure how it’d suit his size. However, it fits just right annd he seems to barely notice it’s there! And it’s endured his various adventures so far, making the price more than worth it in my book. One tip for those with smaller breeds considering this – the material can attract fur quite a bit, so giving it a quick clean every now and then helps avoid any fuzz build up. This has been a daily go-to for us, making our puzzle-solving walks easier to navigate and giving me peace of mind on account of the GPS functionality. Any other small dog owners out there who’ve tried this? Would love to hear your thoughts too!

Just wanted to chime in on the Pawfit 3 debate! I have to agree with you guys about the sheer quality of this tracker. My Cocker Spaniel, Millie, has been rockin it for a few weeks now and i’m super impressive with its durability. She’s quite the adventurer, always off chasing squirrels and such, and the Pawfit 3 hasn’t shown any signs of damage yet. However– anyone noticed how quickly the battery drains? Maybe it’s just Millie’s active lifestyle but seems like we have to charge it more than expected. Anyway, love that it’s water-resistant too– no issues after a surprise jump into our garden pond! Could save some battery life if there was an option to adjust tracking intensity based on dog breed tho ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

All in all, worth every penny for that peace of mind! Seconding the cleaning advice: quick wipe down every week with a damp cloth works wonders from what I’ve observed. Love how easy it is to manage and keep clean alongside my busy timetable. So anyone debating whether or not to get a Pawfit 3, I say go for it! But be prepared for more frequent charging if your dog is anything like my adventurous Millie!

Absolutely agree with everything you’ve said about the Link My Pet GPS Collar. I have a rambunctious Beagle named Teddy who has a knack for sniffing his way into mischief. For us, the collar’s compact size and robust material have stood up to all his adventures, just like your Buster on camping trips. It really eased my worries knowing he’s safe especially since my Teddy likes to explore.

Regarding the price, it might be a little on the higher side, but it gives great peace of mind knowing that this durable little device can withstand out woodland jaunts and our city walks equally well.

As for a little tip: Teddy didn’t like wearing it initially, so I slowly introduced it to him by keeping it near his regular collar until he got used to its presence. That worked a charm for us!

Do any of you also use the activity tracking feature? I find it super useful for keeping up with Teddy’s exercise levels!

While I appreciate the positive experiences some owners have had with Cesar’s dry dog food, I thought it might be helpful to provide an alternative perspective. My Dalmatian, Spot, really didn’t take to it. The small kibble size was hard for him to pick up and he started showing less enthusiasm during meal times – though please bear in mind that every dog is different so what didn’t work for Spot might still be perfect for your furbabies.

As an alternative, I switched Spot over to Royal Canin Size Health Nutrition Maxi which comes with larger croquettes better suited for large breed dogs like my Dalmatian. He’s been gobbling down his meals ever since. Although a bit pricier than Cesar’s, the change in his behavior makes it worth it.

But as always, it’s important to remember that successful feeding relies on meeting individual dogs’ нужs, not just through the type of food but also its size, texture and taste! Is anyone else having trouble with the size of Cesar’s kibble or found other brands better suited for their large breed buddies?

I see quite a few folks here speaking highly of the Fi Series 3 collar. My experience with it has been somewhat mixed though, I must say. Got one for my energetic Springer Spaniel, Winston, and while the GPS tracking feature is top-notch, I found the collar itself to be a bit on the chunkier side. In terms of durability, it’s solid without question, but I observed it was slightly uncomfortable for Winnie during our longer walks or playtimes.

For Winston’s comfort, I switched back to a more traditional collar after a couple months and added a separate lightweight GPS tracker attachment. It might not look as sleek as the Fi Series 3, but considering doggo’s comfort first always works for us. Anybody else experienced something similar? Or maybe had other models to recommend that aren’t quite as bulky?

I’m a fan of Charlee Bear treats too, especially when it comes to training my frisky little corgi, Gizmo. It’s not just the flavor he goes nuts for – these had perfect bite-sized pieces that are easy for smaller breeds to handle. Gizmo used to be super picky about his treats and lose interest quickly, but with these, he has remained constantly motivated during our sessions! Just make sure not to overdo it due to their low-calorie count; they’re not meant as a meal substitute! And remember, if you notice any changes in your dog’s behaviour or diet, always best to consult your vet. Any other small breed owners out there who’ve had a similar experience?

I’ve also had positive experiences with Milk-Bone treats, especially when it comes to training. My Golden Retriever, Max, couldn’t resist these crunchy morsels – perfect for reinforcing behaviors in a variety of situations. The different sizes available was a plus point for me. I found the mini versions particularly useful for quick rewards during agility drills.

But I noticed that they can get a bit crumbly if not stored properly. How do you guys store your Milk-Bone treats to maintain their freshness and integrity? I’d love to hear any tips or hacks!

I totally get why you’re loving your FitBark GPS – I had one for my restless Lab as well until I lost it on a hike (oops!). The size annd durability were perfect for him, bur for some reason, he seemed to entertain himself by trying to chew it off. Eventually I switched to the Whistle 3 GPS Pet Tracker. It’s a bit pricier but comes with more advanced features and it’s o sturdy my guy gave up trying to chew on it. Not sure how your terrier would take to one, but might be worth checking out if you ever need a replacement!

I gotta second that my Border Collie, Finn, simply adores the Trader Joe’s dog treats. The biscuits are just the right size for him, not too big and definitely not too small. Not only does he chew them down to satisfying crumbs in seconds but he also appreciates the various flavors they come in. From an owner’s perspective- I appreciate their affordability. My micro-story with these treats: when I first introduced ‘Shake Hand’ command to Finn, it would have been hard without these tasty motivators! If you’ve got a picky eater or a dog that’s a bit stubborn with training, try integrating these into your routine and see if there’s any difference. Remember though, if your fur friend develops any ill effects from new treats, always a good idea to consult your vet asap.

Has anyone tried the Trader Joe’s salmon jerky? I heard they’re great for dogs with grain allergies.

A Small Dog Owner’s Two Cents on the Airtag (with pet case)

Body: Couldn’t agree more on the convenience factor. I’ve also been using the Airtag for my energetic terrier, Toby, and it’s definately a gamechanger in terms of his escapades down the dog park! However, I do feel that for smaller breeds like ours, the pet case can be a tad too bulky. In the beginning, Toby seemed a bit put off by its size and it took him a little while to get used to it. A word of advice for other small dog owners – when introduction your pooch to the Airtag, maybe attach it to their collar during less active hours. Likely before bed or midday nap time would work best so they have some quiet time to adjust to it. This helped heaps with Toby!

On another note, has anyone tried any third-party cases for their Airtags? I wonder if there are any lighter or smaller options out there that could suit our smaller fidos better.

Considerations for Small-Breed Dogs Using the Airtag Pet Case

Body: Recently picked up an Airtag pet case for my Yorkie, Sammy. Like many of you, I loved the concept of being able to easily track my furry buddy. Found out pretty quickly though that the weight was a bit much for a dog his size. He wasn’t incovnenienced per se, but definitely noticed it there and spent a good while trying to figure out what was on his collar. So, if you got small breeds like Sammy or Toby, consider their size and how the weight of the Airtag might affect them before making the purchase. If you do decide to go ahead with it, going slow and gradual with the introduction can make a big difference too – allow your pup to get accustomed slowly. Finally, remember it’s not a replacement for microchipping or regular vet visits!

Oh, how I wish I’d discovered Howl’s Kitchen Dog Treats sooner! Guys, my Cocker Spaniel, Wiggles, just can’t get enough of them. At the mention of these treats, her tail starts wagging so fast I fear it might fly off. What impresses me most is their size- they’re not too small or overly large, just right for mid-sized breeds like mine. Plus, I’ve checked the ingredients and they appear to be of good quality, which is a giant plus for any health-conscious dog owner.

Has anyone tried using these as training rewards? Wiggles tends to respond well to food incentives when we’re polishing up her obedience skills, so I’d appreciate any thoughts on that aspect.

Absolutely echo the love for Blue Buffalo treats here – my Shepherd mix, Bella, goes absolutely nuts for them! I especially appreciate the variety of natural ingredients and sizes offered, it’s pretty evident they’ve put thought into crafting wholesome snacks. Bella’s training really elevated when we started using these as a reward system so I’ll vouch for their effectiveness in that area. As for pricing, they might be on the higher end compared to some other brands, but quality doesn’t come cheap and I believe it’s worthwhile investing in healthy options like Blue Buffalo. Just remember that treats should complement your pup’s diet, not replace meals. Any changes in behavior or health always warrant a consult with your vet. Anyone else use these treats for training too?

A Salute to Crazy Dog Train-Me! Treats

Body: I’m happily on board with all the love for Crazy Dog Train-Me! Treats! They’ve been an absolute game-changer in training sessions with my husky mix, Luna. In terms of size and edibility, these treats hit the bull’s eye for sure. Small enough for her not to lose interest mid-session yet stufy enough to feel like a real reward.

Just like the Boxer owner mentioned, Luna goes absolutely bonkers for them, making it easier for me to get her attention during outdoor training. As for price and durability, I suppose it’s always worth it if it keeps our fur kids happy and reinforces their learning.

Has anyone tried using these treats in combination with other training toys or techniques? Always keen for new ideas to keep our sessions fresh and engaging!

Has anyone tried these treats with smaller breeds? I’ve got a petite Chihuahua back at home who is incredibly picky with her treats, especially when it comes to size annd texture. Hearing how much larger dogs seem to love Bocce’s Bakery really piqued my interest, but I’m still a bit hesitant. Money’s a bit tight you see, and I’d hate to buy a pack only for them to be turned down. Would love to hear your experiences related to this!
