ParticipantAh, Wholehearted dog treats, the pinnacle of canine cuisine, right? Well, just had to weigh in here. I’ve got a spry German Shepherd named Rex and those bite-sized goodies went down like a charm – I swear he didn’t even chew! While I can’t deny they make for a convenient training tool due to their small size and apparent tastiness, I found they tend to crumble quite easily. Not the best news for those of us with cream carpets. However, price-wise, they’re nicely Affordable. You get what you pay for, as they say.
My alternative (and Rex’s favourite) however, are the Farmer’s Dog Jerky Strips. They’re also bite-sized, tough enough for a good chew yet very chewable – plus no scattering crumbs! More expensive sure, but sometimes worth it for that tidy edge. Anyone else found a no-crumb alternative that won’t break the bank?

ParticipantJust wanted to drop my two cents on the Fresh Kisses Dog Treats discussion. My golden retriever, Benny, is usually quite picky when it comes to treats. However, he seems to have taken a liking to these! They are nicely sized for him and seem to last quite awhile too. Pricing-wise, they’re a bit steep compared to other brands we’ve used in the past but given Benny’s enjoyment and how they keep his teeth clean, I think it may be worth the extra bucks.
One thing I’d suggest anyone using these treats with big breeds: monitor your dog while they’re gnawing on one of these. Benny was so enthusiastic once, he nearly swallowed it whole! Had a bit of a scare but he was fine eventually (always recommend checking with a vet if you notice any digestion issues with your pooch).
Has anyone else found them effective for dental hygiene? Benny’s breath seems fresher, but I’m curious about long-term effects.

ParticipantAbsolutely agree with you guys, Full Moon treats are a hit in our household too. We’ve got a particularly picky Shih Tzu named Gigi and she’s partial to the Chicken Jerky recipe. It feels like I’m giving her something healthy that she enjoys, especially given the company claims they use high-quality ingredients without any fillers or nasty artificial stuff.
The price point might seem a bit steep for doggo treats at first glance, but considering the longevity of the pack (they last ages!), it’s pretty value for money. Also, I’d rather pay a bit more for wholesome snakcs than save up and compromise on my pet’s health.
Those of you who’ve tried the other flavors, how do your pups like them? We’re considering branching out to try some of their other recipes next. And remember, as much as these treats are great, always consult a vet if there are any unusual reactions.

ParticipantI’ve been feeding Canidae’s Grain Free Pure to my aging golden retriever for a few months now. On first try, my ordinarily picky eater definitely took to this food quite well. It’s worth noting that the kibble size is small and easy to chew, which makes it ideal for senior dogs like mine with dental problems. Regarding its price, although a bit higher than other brands, I found that the quality and nutritional balance certainly justify the cost. However, always consult with your vet before changing your dog’s diet.
What alternative foods have anyone here tried for dogs with sensitive stomachs? Do they compare well with Canidae’s Grain Free Pure in terms of digestibility and taste?

ParticipantI’ve been alternating between the Full Moon and another brand for my Lab, Rocky. While he enjoys the taste of the Full Moon treats, they can be a big chunky for him at times and I have to break them down a bit. jsut wondering if anyone else noticed this? I wonder if smaller dogs find them harder to chew or not? On a positive note, I do like the resealable bag and that you don’t have to worry about artificial ingredients. Overall though, they seem like a great treat!

ParticipantAbsolutely agree! Those Pet Pride dog treats are a real winner in my household too. My Labrador, Benny, completely adores them – he’s actually starting to respond to training better because he knows one of these treats is coming his way as a reward. They’re just the right size for him and are price-friendly which I love.
Got a funny anecdote to share; Benny usually ignores his old chew toys now that these treats have become his ultimate favourite. Ever since introducing him to Pet Pride, anything else is deemed second-rate. Who knew upgrading treats could make me suddenly realize how much stuff we’ve accumulated for him over time but never used.
Out of curiosity, anyone tried the Chicken & Sweet Potato variant? How did your fur babies take to it? Remember, if your dog has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, always consult your vet before trying new products!

ParticipantAdding my Two Cents on Pet Pride Dog Treats
Well, don’t even get me started on Pet Pride Dog treats! I’ve had an interesting experience with these myself. I own two large breeds so the size of the treats was a big plus for me right off the bat. The treats are hearty and definately durable – my dogs chewed happily for a good fifteen minutes on one treat alone.
That being said, I noticed they gave my dog quite the stinky breath afterwards. Tried to train them to drink some water after munching, but you know how stubborn dogs can be sometimes haha!
Anyone else’ dogs got stinky breath after these or just mine? Wondering if it’s something in that flavor mix… Anyway, back to nightly teeth brushing routine it is!
Remember folks, no matter how much our pets love a particular treat, always keep an eye out on any changes it may cause. And when in doubt, never hurts to consult your trusted vet!

ParticipantI totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve tried Pet Pride dog treats for my Lab, Max, and initially, he wasn’t too excited about them either. However, I noticed that these treats are quite large in size. Did you try breaking them up into smaller pieces for your Golden?
Just a little trick that’s worked for me – I also mix it in with their regular food as a fun surprise and Max seems to like the change! Honestly, for the price, I think they’re decent.
Does anyone else mix treats with their pup’s regular food? Or have more tips on encouraging our fur buddies to enjoy new treats?

ParticipantIt’s so awesome to hear all the Buddy Biscuits love! My Australian Shepherd, Molly, is an absolute fan too. We tried them initially becuase I’m always on the hunt for healthier treat options that aren’t full of fillers and artificial stuff – these really fit the bill. For training purposes, I do agree they’re slightly on the bigger side but nothing a quick crumble can’t fix. Plus, Molly seems more interested in getting a piece of ‘real’ biscuit versus tiny treats, so it’s worked out perfectly in her case. Pricewise they may be a tad bit higher than some brands, but honestly for the quality, I think it’s worth every penny! jsut make sure your pooch doesn’t have any special dietary needs before diving in – and if you’re not sure it’s always a good idea to ask your vet.
10/24/2024 at 12:03 PM in reply to: Stewart Dog Treats Review: A Detailed Look into My Pup’s New Favorite Snack #6780Chunky_Chihuahua_3004
ParticipantGlad to see so many others on the Stewart’s treats train! My Golden Retriever, Bailey, absolutely goes gaga for them. We’ve found they’re fantastic for training – thier small size makes them ideal rewards and they don’t crumble everywhere like other brands do. Plus, Bailey particularly loves the liver flavor! Just a word of caution though, remember that even though our fur friends might beg for more, these are treats and should not replace their regular meals or balanced diet. Has anyone tried using these as part of a game with their dog? Seems like they could be fun for hide and seek based activities too!
Chunky_Chihuahua_3004
ParticipantAbsolutely, Fromm dog treats have been a game-changer for us as well! We’ve had our Border Collie, Sparkler, on these for over a year. We actually switched after noticing her disinterest in her old cardboardy biscuits. I have to say the size and material of these are spot-on – not too hard for her to chew and just the right size for rewarding good behavior. Plus, the quality ingredients in them give me peace of mind.
Here’s a quick tip from our training sessions – we found that breaking the treats into smaller pieces during training works wonders, they last longer and keep Sparkler engaged without overfeeding her. Also, keep an eye on online deals, sometimes you can nab these treats at a significantly lower price.
Has anyone else noticed changes in their pup’s behavior or responses after switching to Fromm?

ParticipantSo happy to hear so many positive reviews about Happy Hips! I’ve been giving them to my Lab, Max, for a couple of months now and he gets absolutely ecstatic every time. I mean tail wagging at lightning speed, the whole nine yards! One thing I’ve noticed though, they are a bit on the harder side. There’s never been an issue for Max, but has anyone else found them too tough for their pups? Just curious. As for the price, it is a little steep compared to other treats but honestly worth it considering how much Max seems to enjoy them! Always remember that if your pup has any difficulties or you have concerns, it might be best to check with your vet before trying a new treat.

ParticipantTotally on board with your praises for Fruitables! I’ve got a small Jack Russell called Benji who’s an absolute fiend for these treats. What I really love about Fruitables is that they’re small enough for regular use without overloading him with calories. Plus, the chewy texture seems to give him some good jaw exercise. I’ve been getting great deals on bulk packs from our local pet store, which definitely helps the wallet too.
Just as a wee tip – if you’ve got a clever pupster who enjoys a challenge, try hiding a couple of these treats in their favorite playing space. It’s been fantastic for Benji’s problem-solving skills and he literally can’t resist the pumpkin flavored ones. Any other clever uses you all have found for these tasty morsels?

Participantdog lovers out there! I must say I’ve been following the Happy Hips treats topic with interest. Having a 13-year-old Labrador who’s a real treat gourmand, I’ve always been on the lookout for tasty yet healthy options. Having tried them based on your experiences shared here, I find my fellow exhibits a noticeable pep in his step lately; however, I do have one question on the size of the treats – do they come in different sizes? Am asking so as I feel the small bite-sized portions can be a bit too small for him, and he’s kinda struggling to pick them up from his bowl. Anyone else having this same observation? Nevertheless, despite the sizing issue, they seem like a good option for my old boy. So thanks heaps for sharing your thoughts guys and keep those reviews coming!
10/03/2024 at 4:13 AM in reply to: “First Impressions and Detailed Insights: Grandma Lucy’s Dog Treats Review” #6735Chunky_Chihuahua_3004
ParticipantOh, Murphy and Bella are definitely not alone! I also fell for Grandma Lucy’s due to their catchy packaging but soon found out they weren’t that fantastic when their magic wore off on Rosie, my Boxer. The treats seemed fine at first – nice size, plant-based materials, seemingly durable. But like you guys noted, Rosie just lost interest after a couple weeks. Honestly considering the price point, I expected way more durability. My advice? Maybe mix these treats up with others so your dog doesn’t get bored as fast. Anyone else tries this approach with any success? Let a guy know! Oh and remember, if your pups aren’t eating or reacting weirdly to new treatst, always consult the vet!
