ParticipantI’ve also been using Triumph dog treats with my golden retriever, Fergus, and I’d have to say our experience has been somewhat middling. Yes, they’re of decent size, not too pricey, and Fergus seems to like the flavor well enough. However, I’ve found that they don’t hold up too well when we’re out on longer walks or if forgotten in the training pouch. They crush easily and then you ends up with more of a treat dust than actual full pieces. Anybodyelse found this or have I just had a run of unlucky bags? Also, any suggested alternatives that might stand up better during rough-and-tumble days out?

ParticipantI was super curious about these Canine Carry Out treats after seeing all the positive feedback here. My dog, Bella, seems to love ’em, and they’re good on my wallet too! Just a question though – anyone noticed how hard they are? I mean, Bella chews through them ok, but some days she seems to struggle a bit. I wonder if this has something to do with hardness or if it’s just Bella being fussy. Would love to hear your thoughts.

ParticipantAbsolutely right there with ya! My Bernese Mountain Dog, Bruno, can’t get enough of these treats. What I love about Whimzees is the variety in sizes – it fits tiny to large mouths perfectly. Have you noticed how durable they are compared to others? We once tried this pricier brand annd boy, they lasted barely 5 minutes with Bruno. We switched back to Whimzees real quick after that episode. 😅 Also, pro-tip for fussy eaters out there – if you change out a treat every second day, your pup gets a lovely surprise every time. Has anyone else tried this approach? You could suggest your pup’s favorite treat combinations!

ParticipantI must say, I’ve been a fan of NutriSource dog treats for many years. Our old Boxer, Brutus, was super picky about his snacks but the beef and rice variant from this brand just stole his heart instantly. The size of these treats is perfect, not too big and not too small, making them ideal for training or as a little reward. As for pricing, considering their quality and the fact that they are grain-free and made in the USA, I think it’s more than reasonable. I’d highly suggest introducing these treats slowly if your dog has a sensitive stomach though. Any drastic changes in diet can lead to upset tummies, so it’s always best to start slow. But Bailey loves ’em huh? Have you tried any other flavor variants with her?

ParticipantOh, the Ol’ Roy treat saga continues! Been there, done that with my corgi, Lily. Sure, they fit her small mouth perfectly and didn’t make a dent in my wallet, but goodness me, the crumbs. I swear I was finding leftover bits in every nook and cranny of my home for weeks. Here’s a tip for y’all considering these- vacuum often! You’ll thank me later when your carpet isn’t 50% dog treat bits. Any others battling the crumb apocalypse? Now wondering if this is just a Lily-thing or an everyone thing.

ParticipantYeah, can confirm the DreamBone treats love here as well. So, our Shih Tzu, Ziggy, is a pretty little thing but with big time chewing habits! Got him started on these about two years ago and boy, they’ve been a game changer. Notably the size of these treats does seem spot-on for smaller breeds; Ziggy is easily able to carry his treat to his favorite snoozing spot before settling in for a good munch. Not only do they keep him entertained but also, ‘ve noticed that Ziggy’s dental hygiene seems to have improved visibly. Of course, not claiming anything medical here friends – still make regular vet visits for thorough checks. Just my personal observation in Ziggy’s case! They’re slightly more costly than some other dog treats we’ve tried before but the change I see in Ziggy makes it worth every cent. And durability-wise? Solid 10/10, lasts just the right amount of time for a satisfying chew session without any chocking risk – which I think is all thanks to its rawhide-free nature. So yeah, from my perspective, total thumbs up for DreamBone!

ParticipantOh, the ‘boulders’ saga continues, eh? Well, let me just pitch in my two cents here. I, too, found the size of these Blue Dog treats to be quite ambitious for my dainty pug Bella. Had to use a hammer to break ’em up into bite-sized bits, it felt like a hardcore DIY project (something I did not sign up for when buying dog treats!). Let’s all just wish they’re listening and tone down the intimidating sizes! Price is reasonable though, but the extra workout? Not so sure it’s worth it. Anyways guys, keep in mind that drastic changes in your dog’s diet can cause upset stomach. Always consult with your vet before making any dietary changes!

ParticipantAbsolutely on board with the praise for Smokehouse! I’ve been purchasing these robust treats for my Golden Retriever for quite some time now and he never seems to tire of them. One thing I really appreciate about these treats is their size – they’re just perfect for training, not too small to be unnoticeable and not too large to be overfeeding your dog. Plus, the ingredients seem pretty straightforward which is always a plus when it comes to pet food.
On top of all that, my buddy seems to love the flavor and it really helps during our training sessions. In fact, he picked up ‘fetch’ considerably quicker since he knew there was a tasty reward waiting!
For those having sensitive tummy troubles though, maybe try introducing these treats slowly into their diet or consult your vet before making any dietary changes.
Has anyone tried out their other flavors yet? The chicken and turkey one has been a hit in my house, wondering if the same goes for others too!

ParticipantI’ve been buying Full Moon dog treats for my Golden Retriever, Max, for a while now. They’re just the right size for training exercises, annd I appreciate that they’re made from natural ingredients. Max usually tends to be quite picky when it comes to his treats but he devours these without a second thought – though he does have a particular liking for their chicken flavor over the others! In terms of price, they’re more on the $$ side compared to other brands, but well worth it given the quality and how much Max loves them… We tried switching once, let’s just say it didn’t end well with Max staging a hunger strike of sorts! 😅 Anyone else’s pup got a favorite Full Moon flavor or are they all in camp chicken flavor like Max?

ParticipantI gotta say I’m a convert to the Greenies Fan Club, too! My cocker spaniel, Buddy, can’t resist them and his teeth have never looked cleaner (though we still get regular checks with the vet, jsut to be sure!) The only thing is I’ve found the sizing a bit off for Buddy; he’s 30 pounds but the “Large” size seemed a bit much for him, so we stick to regular. That being said, it does means he chews on it longer which could be even better for his teeth. Honestly at first I was slightly taken aback by the price but I suupose you get what you pay for – great quality and one happy pooch! Anyone else found the sizes not accurate?
Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantNot to play devil’s advocate, but I’ve had a somewhat different experience with the Pet Pride treats. While the size and crunch of the treats were initially appealing to my pup Tilly, we found that they were a bit too hard for her after she lost some of her baby teeth. She’s a terrier mix and generally loves a good chew, but these seemed to test her teething tolerance. Has anyone found a similar issue? Perhaps it’s just that Tilly is more comfortable with softer types after teething. Regardless, like most things, it’s probably a matter of personal preference for your doggo! Just wanted to share my two cents.
11/12/2024 at 6:25 PM in reply to: “My Honest Ollie Dry Dog Food Review: The Good and the Not so Good” #6426Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantI’ve been feeding my Golden Retriever, Sunny, Ollie’s dry food for about six months now. I get it, pups like Sunny are no match for smaller breeds when it comes to meal sizes. But hefty bag or not, the price point can be steep if you’re planning on making this their main diet. My tip is this: mix in some high quality wet food to stretch out those Ollie bags without sacrificing a balanced diet. This has worked wonders for us. Yet, do keep an eye on your dog’s condition; if there are any drastic changes, take him/her to the vet. How about you guys? Any other wallet-friendly feeding hacks up your sleeves?
11/09/2024 at 12:38 PM in reply to: “Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats Review: Are They Worth It?” #7115Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantCan’t agree more with the love for Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats here. I’m currently on my third bag for my playful little beagle, Fergus! As a dog owner of 13 years, one thing that stands out for me is their size – they’re perfect for smaller dogs but they also work great as a quick reward during training sessions too. Their price point is decent for the quality you get. Has anyone else noticed how their dogs seem specially attracted to the Classic P-Nuttier flavor?
Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantThough I have to give props to Pet Pride for their affordability, my doggo Chester seems to prefer Zesty Paws’ Aller-Immune Bites. These treats are a bit larger, but they have this chewy texture that keeps the big man occupied for a while. It was quite the switch though – we transitioned slowly from Pet Pride, introducing a couple of Zesty Paws treats at first to see how he would react. Anyone else tried tossing their pup a Zesty Paw now and then? Love to hear your experiences!
Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantTotally agree with you all – Good Lovin’ treats have been a game-changer for us! We’ve got an 11 year-old Golden Retriever, Benji, who’s still as playful and energetic as a pupper, and these treats are his absolute favourite rewards. They’re the perfect size for training sessions without him getting too full, and they seem super durable in terms of shelf life.
Not to menttion the price point – they’re surprisingly affordable considering how much my fur-buddy loves ’em. I personally think it’s great value for money. Just goes to show that you don’t need to break the bank for your doggo to feel spoiled. 🙂
Has anyone else noticed thier dog being more obedient when they use these treats? Or is it just my Benji being an extra good boy?
