ParticipantTotally agree with you guys here! Ever since we started using Orijen treats, our pooch Rover has been absolutely obsessed. An added bonus is that they’re small enough to fit in his interactive puzzle toys. They definately aren’t the cheapest option on the market but given the quality of ingredients, I think they offer pretty good value for money. Does anyone have any good tips on where to snag them at discount prices?

ParticipantI’m a massive fan of Good ‘n’ Fun treats as well! The ingredients seem hearty, and they’re cheap enough that I can sneak in plenty for my Boxer, Bella without questioning my finances. Funny story thouh – Bella is so obsessed with these that she’s started sniffing out the hidden treats around the house like a hound dog on a hunt! We’ve turned it into a fun game; highly recommend trying this if your pup can’t get enough of these Good ‘n’ Fun dog treats. Just see how good they are at hunting them down. Remember to limit the number of treats though, to keep their diet balanced.

ParticipantCouldn’t agree more about the Merrick dry dog food. My own pup, a feisty annd always hungry Boxer, has been munching it down for 5 years now. I’ve noticed her coat remains shiny and she’s plenty of energy for our daily walks and playtime.
In terms of cost, as someone who’s on a budget, it felt a bit on the steep side initially but when you consider the quality ingredients and how long a bag lasts, it seems worth it in the long run. And let’s not forget the convenience factor – portion sizes are easy to manage because of the kibble size and it stores well too! Plus, Bella, my Boxer just absolutely loves meal times now ( not that she ever didn’t!)
Just curious though, has anyone tried introducing Merrick’s wet food range? Wondering if it might be a tasty change for Bella once in a while.

ParticipantWhile Merrick dry dog food certainly seems popular, I’ve found Taste of the Wild to be a great alternative for my Boxer, Bruno. I really like that it’s grain-free—a must for my pup’s sensitive stomach—and comes in different flavors, so he never gets bored. Bruno dove into the High Prairie flavor first and really seemed to enjoy it. And even though it’s slightly pricier per bag compared to Merrick, it lasts longer because the serving size is smaller; definitely more bang for your buck if you ask me! Anyone else have experience with Taste of the Wild?

ParticipantGot to join in on this Charlee Bear praise parade! Have been using these treats for about a year now with my golden retriever, Ollie. If the size of your dog is a concern, worry no more – these treats are perfectly bite-sized and Ollie doesn’t seem to have any trouble munching on them during our training sessions.
Their durability is noteworthy too; you know some treats tend to crumble and make a mess? Not these, they remain intact right up until crunch time! Plus, for the price point, I’m rather happy with the quantity provided.
Anyone else notice though that these treats can be a bit dry sometimes? My Ollie seems nonplussed but just curious if anyone has encountered this too or it’s just my batch. Any ideas, folks?

ParticipantI’ve also fed Royal Canin to my pups for years and completely agree with the overall positive comments here. My Australian Shepherd, Boomer, really thrived on it – his coat was always shiny and he seemed full of energy. However, after discussing it with our vet due to budget constraints, we switched him to Hills Science Diet and honestly haven’t noticed any substantial differences. Hills is a lot more friendly on the wallet, but still offers that high-quality nutrition that dogs need. Has anyone else made a switch like this? Would love to hear your experiences too!

Participantthere! I share in the Milk-Bone love – my old Retriever, Sam, would never refuse one as a special treat. But did anyone else notice their furbabies gaining a little weight after introducing these treats regularly into the diet? I guess they’re just too tasty to resist and our canine friends show no restraint! So my advice would be to keep a keen eye on your pet’s weight and use these rewards in moderation. Especially for those of us with breeds prone to obesity, balance is key when it comes to treats! It might even be worth consulting your vet about how many you should give your pup if you’re unsure.

ParticipantAbsolutely joining in on this Charlee Bear appreciation thread. My cocker spaniel, Tobi, is also a huge fan of them. He adores the crunch so much that I’ve actually been able to use them as incentives for his naughty habit of stealing socks! But my question is about their size. Does anyone else find these treats a bit too small for larger breeds? Curious to know how other large dog owners are managing this. People do make their own variations of these treats, right?
Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantI’m not totally against Charlee Bear treats, but they didn’t exactly impress me. I found their size a bit too small for my German Shepard, Max – he almost chomped my fingers off thinking there was more in my hand! Plus the price point seems high for what you’re getting. Does anyone else with large breed dogs feel the same? Would prefer a larger affordable treat that could still be used for training sessions without breaking the bank. Any suggestions?
Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantSo glad to hear your pup loves Charlee Bear treats as much as mine does! I fully concur with your assessment on their size, especially with smaller breed dogs or those on a strict diet — they’re ideal for portion control. The price is quite reasonable, and I’ve found them to be quite durable, unlike some treats that crumble in your pocket.
Just one wee anecdote to share: my determined terrier Lucy once managed to snag the treat bag from the coffee table (cheeky girl!). She was having a field day! When I finally caught her (red-pawed, so to speak), there wasn’t a single crumb left in that bag. It was a total endorsement of Charlee Bear from Lucy herself!
One minor tip: try keeping these treats in different spots around the house — makes training and rewarding good behavior super convenient. Has anyone else stumbled upon creative uses or storage tactics for these tasty tidbits?

ParticipantWell, no denying the appeal of Wellness treats! My Goldie, Daisy, sure took a fancy to ’em. I did find them a bit on the pricier side though. From my experience, a great alternative has been Blue Buffalo’s Health Bars – just as nutritious and loved by my Daisy just as much. I found them to be a little easier on my wallet over time too! Of course every doggo is different, so maybe give it a shot and see how your pups react? It would be interesting to hear what other budget-friendly but health-conscious treats people have stumbled upon, wouldn’t you all agree?

ParticipantI wholeheartedly agree with all the praise for Wellness treats. Rosie, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier, absolutely adores these treats! They’re of a perfect size for her (at least scaffolding her training sessions) and seem to be made from quality ingredients. The affordability doesn’t hurt either, making them a great value for what you’re getting.
One tiny thing I’d say is that these treats can get a little crumbly, which isn’t ideal when they end up all over your carpet. But Rosie could care less about that; she’s in heaven whenever I bring out the Wellness bag. Have any other pet parents noticed this? It’s not a dealbreaker by any means but thought it was worth mentioning. Overall, we are a Wellness loving household here!
05/20/2025 at 12:40 PM in reply to: “Just Got My Paws on Yummy Combs Dog Treats: Share Your Experiences?” #7224Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantJust as most up here, I’ve had a pretty amazing experience with Yummy Combs too. My Labrador pup is a aggressive chewer annd these lasted far longer than some of the other treats we’d tried earlier. In terms of size, they’re pawfect even for a bigger dog like mine – large enough to keep him fixated but not way too big that he’d trouble handling. Noticeably it did a good job cleaning his teeth; I saw a significant reduction in tartar build-up after incorporating these into his routine.
Just one small tip for anyone thinking about introducing this to their pet’s diet: always monitor your doggy the first few times they have it, just like you would with any new treat. If you see any odd reactions, don’t wait it out – best to consult with a vet instead. But yeah, do give Yummy Combs a shot, folks! Dogs seem to love ’em and us humans appreciate the easy clean-up afterward. Plus, everyone loves fresh-smelling pupper breath! Wonder if anyone noticed an improvement in their doggo’s coat after using these? My Gus’s has been shinier these days but not sure if it’s attributable to Yummy Combs.
05/20/2025 at 7:17 AM in reply to: “Bocce Bakery Dog Treats Review: Incredibly Tasty or Just Hype?” #6659Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantOh my, Bocce Bakery treats are top-notch in our house too! I’ve got a particularly picky Border Collie, Stella, annd she started doing her tricks more diligently the moment I switched from another brand to Bocce. They’re the perfect size for her and easily chewable. However, one thing to note, they can be on the expensive side compared to others in the market. Worth every penny if you ask me (or rather Stella)! Does anyone know if they ever do sales or discounts?
05/19/2025 at 1:28 PM in reply to: Let’s Talk Taste & Nutrition: My Nudges Natural Dog Treats Review #7317Loyal_Siamese_9145
ParticipantJust thought I’d add my viewpoint into the mix here. I’ve been using Nudges Natural Dog Treats for around two years now with my German Shepherd, Duke. He’s always had a very picky palate and trust me, we tried all kinds of brands before finding this one. Weighing in at over 100lbs, he’s a big boy with a mighty appetite to match. These wholesome treats really come in handy when we’re focusing on obedience training – they’re not too large but just enough to get his attention without distracting him from the task at hand. Plus, I appreciate that they have a good balance of nutrition for him without an exaggerated calorie count.
Remember, while dog treats are great in moderation, don’t rely on them as your pooch’s primary source of nutrition. Always consult your vet for advice regarding diet and nutritional needs!
