ParticipantWell, well, well… isn’t it quite the coincidence? My Miniature Pinscher, Bella, loves Crazy Dog Train-Me! treats too. They’re just the right size for her little mouth, and I’ve noticed she goes bonkers whenever I whip out the bag. A bit pricy if you ask me, but it seems all good things come with a price tag, don’t they? Plus, Bella’s obedience levels have shot up ever since starting on these treats – something my slippers are very grateful for! Just remember everyone, while treats are great motivators, consistency and patience go a long way in dog training. Oh and if Bella starts acting weird after gobbling these down, I’d definitely recommend taking her to the vet. No treat is worth our fur-babies health after all.

ParticipantLooks like I’m joining the Yummy Combs cheer squad too! I’ve got a little Corgi who’s usually picky with his treats – it’s often a battle trying to find something that he’ll enjoy and won’t make a mess. But boy, did he go crazy for these! The Yummy Combs have been great both in terms of size and material, they give him something to realy chew on without breaking apart into teeny pieces. Now, do remember every pup is unique; so you might still want to monitor your fur baby on first tries jsut in case it doesn’t fit well with them just yet. Even their middle price range worked fine for us, especially given how long they actually last. Just my two cents folks!

ParticipantAnother Big Fan of Merrick Lovers Here, with an Alternative
Absolutely agree about the Merrick dog treats! My border collie Sammy loves the Texas Beef flavor. They’ve been a wonderful addition to training sessions, and I appreciate how they’re grain-free. The only thing was that they seemed a little bit hard for him to chew at first because of his smaller size, so we started breaking them into smaller pieces which solved that issue!
For those whose dogs might have a similar problem or if you’re just looking to shake things up a bit, we also tried Cloud Star Buddy Biscuits as an alternative. They’re equally yummy (if Sammy’s wagging tail is anything to go by) but are softer and come in smaller sizes. They are a little pricier than Merrick’s, but might be worth considering if your pup is on the tiny side or has sensitive teeth.
By way, anyone else tried out some different flavors from Merrick? Considering switching it up for Sammy just for a change. Any recommendations?
05/09/2025 at 3:57 AM in reply to: My Honest “Pedigree Dry Dog Food Review” after a 3-month Trial #6491dreamy-corgi-5513
ParticipantAbsolutely agree about the size of Pedigree’s dry dog food. I’ve got a small breed Corgi, Max and the kibbles were a bit large for his liking at first. However, over time, he did get used to it and now doesn’t seem to have any issue with them. I’d say, give your pet some time to adjust if you’re experiencing similar issues. But yes, if the size continues to be a problem for your fur baby, trying out another brand might not be a bad idea. Overall, in my experience, Pedigree has always proved to be great value for money! Has anyone found any other brands offering similar nutritional value but with smaller kibble sizes?

ParticipantI definitely echo your sentiments about Freshpet’s kibble size. My Boston Terrier, Bruno had quite a hard time adjusting to these bigger kibbles initially. However, after consulting with my vet, I started soaking the kibbles in some warm water for a few minutes before serving them to Bruno. The water softened the kibble making it easier for him to chew. Also, you might want to consider other brands that offer smaller kibble if the problem persists. Nutro Ultra Small Breed Adult is a great choice for small breeds as thier kibbles are comparatively smaller annd packed with well-rounded nutrition.

ParticipantAbsolutely agree with most of what’s been said about the Tractive GPS dog tracker, especially about it being user-friendly annd accurate! The size was a bit larger than I expected but my Lab, Max, had no issues wearing it. And talk about durability, Max pulled his usual Houdini act in the park and even after a frolic in the creek, the device came out working perfectly fine! Now on to the price, mabye it’s a bit steep but for me, it’s worthy investment for peace of mind. On a side note, has anyone tried using it in heavily wooded areas? Wondering how the signal holds up there.

ParticipantOh boy, the NutriSource debate again. Like some of you lovable dog devotees here, I found that their treats are well-liked by my fur baby, though I gotta admit they left a sizable hole in my wallet too. Then there was the time my Muffin tried to scarf down the entire treat in one go, nearly gave me a heart attack – those things aren’t exactly bite-sized for smaller dogs!
As an alternative, we switched to Zuke’s Mini Naturals. Less pricey and more appropriate sizing for our petite Muffin (and equally tasty, so she says). But hey, whatever sails your boat – or fetches your stick, amirite? Remember fellas, always supervise snack time and when in doubt about treat suitability for your pup’s size or dietary needs – consult a vet!

ParticipantI’ve got to chime in here, I too have had a great experience with Open Farm Dry Dog Food. It’s been about 2 years since I started feeding it to my beagle, Benny. The smaller kibble size is perfect for him and he really enjoys the chicken, turkey flavor – gobbles it up every time!
My advice would be to try a small bag first before investing in a larger one, just to make sure your pup enjoys the flavor. Just remember, as with any diet change, make it gradual so you don’t upset your pooch’s tummy. And of course, if there are any adverse reactions, it’s best to consult your trusted vet.
Did anyone else notice an improvement in thier dog’s coat after switching? Benny seems shinier and softer – could be placebo effect on my part though, haha!
dreamy-corgi-5513
ParticipantEven though NutriSource treats are pretty fabulous for the most part, I’ve personally found an alternate treat that my border collie, Max, seems to prefer more – the Zuke’s Mini Naturals. Considering thier size and texture, these treats work phenomenally for training without overfeeding Max. They are also great on the budget! For new dog parents trying to figure out what works best for their dogs, give Zuke’s a shot if NutriSource isn’t hitting the mark. Remember though, every dog has different preferences and dietary needs so it’s always about finding what works best for your furry friend!
dreamy-corgi-5513
ParticipantI’ve got this adorable Mastiff, Molly, who just tears into any treat she gets. Bought NutriSource ones thinking they might be more durable with their firmer texture, and hey, I wasn’t wrong! They stand up to her chewin’ quite well. Pricey? Yeah, but for the quality and durability I think they’re well worth it. Molly seems to agree too! Just make sure your dog isn’t too hasty; even these tougher treats need some careful chewing. As always, keep a close eye when it’s treat time!
dreamy-corgi-5513
ParticipantI totally agree about the price point, Aldi’s dog treats are definitely cost-effective. My old Labrador, Sam, enjoys them from time to time. However, I found that their durability doesn’t match up to some of the more premium brands out there, particularly for larger breeds with stronger jaws. So if you have a big chewer at home, you might want to go for something a bit sturdier. In terms of size though, they do offer a decent variety which is great for us dog parents with pups of different sizes. Always remember to trial and see what your dog likes best before buying in bulk!
And just wondering if anyone else has tried incorporating these treats into their training sessions? How did it go?
02/24/2025 at 2:21 AM in reply to: “Spoiling My Four-Legged Papillon: A DreamBone Dog Treats Review” #7000dreamy-corgi-5513
ParticipantTotally on board with the DreamBone love here, but has anyone else noticed that they can be a little pricey? I mean, my sassy little Beagle mix (Gertie by name) adores them too, like will do more tricks than you knew exist! And the size and durability are perfect, keeping her occupied and satisfied for a good while. But then again, maybe it’s just me with a tighter budget for dog treats these days. How often y’all give these to your pups to make the cost manageable?
dreamy-corgi-5513
ParticipantOh boy, “Blue Dog Treats: The boulders of the dog snacks world” should be their new tagline. I can’t tell you how many times my Poodle, Freddie, just pushed it around with his snout like a tiny soccer ball before giving up in disgust. Size matters indeed! Anyone tried chopping them up into smaller bits? Sadly, Freddie wasn’t impressed with the taste then either, regardless of my best dog treat sommelier impression. Can anyone recommend another brand that may be a bit more Poodle palate-friendly?
02/14/2025 at 1:09 AM in reply to: “Discovering the Taste and Nutrition of Wholehearted Dog Treats: My Experience and Review” #6934dreamy-corgi-5513
ParticipantThat’s interesting to hear about your experiences with Wholehearted dog treats. I’ve been giving them to my terrier, Max, for about a year now and he never seems to tire of them. They’re bite-sized (perfect for his little mouth), seem quite durable and the price is reasonable too. He particularly loves the chicken and sweet potato variety!
However, I noticed that some posters have mentioned issues with their dogs not being as keen on these treats. Anyone else found this to be the case? I’m curious to know if the flavor or texture might be a factor here. It might help us all make better treat choices for our furry friends in the future!
Remember, treats should make up no more than 10% of your dogs daily caloric intake to ensure balanced nutrition. Always consult a vet if you have concerns about your pup’s diet.

Participantthere fellow dog parents!
I’ve got to chime in here about my experience with Fresh Kisses Dog Treats. Just like some of you, I also have a picky little fur baby named Rex, who generally turns his nose up at most treats. But then I tried him on these goodies and boy oh boy did they change his attitude quickly!
The fact that they’re made from natural ingredients, with no artificial colors or preservatives is a major knob for me. The vet always breaks out into a grin when I bring them to our annual visit (no claim her folks, just really seems the vet loves these treats!).
As for size, my Rex is a medium-sized breed (Beagle), and the Medium Fresh Kisses seem to last him quite a while. He really enjoys his treat time and spends at least 15 minutes enjoying it which makes it worth every penny.
My one concern, though, was the durable material of these treats. Rex can really get into it sometimes and I worry about him potentially swallowing large pieces that could cause choking hazards—has anyone had any similar experiences with their dogs?
In any case, love seeing all the positive views on Fresh Kisses. Makes me even more confident I made the right choice! Let’s keep this thread going! Got more tips or alternative suggestions?
