  • in reply to: Spreading Some Love on Pet Pride Dog Treats: A Review #6857

I totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve tried Pet Pride dog treats for my Lab, Max, and initially, he wasn’t too excited about them either. However, I noticed that these treats are quite large in size. Did you try breaking them up into smaller pieces for your Golden?

Just a little trick that’s worked for me – I also mix it in with their regular food as a fun surprise and Max seems to like the change! Honestly, for the price, I think they’re decent.

Does anyone else mix treats with their pup’s regular food? Or have more tips on encouraging our fur buddies to enjoy new treats?

It’s so awesome to hear all the Buddy Biscuits love! My Australian Shepherd, Molly, is an absolute fan too. We tried them initially becuase I’m always on the hunt for healthier treat options that aren’t full of fillers and artificial stuff – these really fit the bill. For training purposes, I do agree they’re slightly on the bigger side but nothing a quick crumble can’t fix. Plus, Molly seems more interested in getting a piece of ‘real’ biscuit versus tiny treats, so it’s worked out perfectly in her case. Pricewise they may be a tad bit higher than some brands, but honestly for the quality, I think it’s worth every penny! jsut make sure your pooch doesn’t have any special dietary needs before diving in – and if you’re not sure it’s always a good idea to ask your vet.

Glad to see so many others on the Stewart’s treats train! My Golden Retriever, Bailey, absolutely goes gaga for them. We’ve found they’re fantastic for training – thier small size makes them ideal rewards and they don’t crumble everywhere like other brands do. Plus, Bailey particularly loves the liver flavor! Just a word of caution though, remember that even though our fur friends might beg for more, these are treats and should not replace their regular meals or balanced diet. Has anyone tried using these as part of a game with their dog? Seems like they could be fun for hide and seek based activities too!

Absolutely, Fromm dog treats have been a game-changer for us as well! We’ve had our Border Collie, Sparkler, on these for over a year. We actually switched after noticing her disinterest in her old cardboardy biscuits. I have to say the size and material of these are spot-on – not too hard for her to chew and just the right size for rewarding good behavior. Plus, the quality ingredients in them give me peace of mind.

Here’s a quick tip from our training sessions – we found that breaking the treats into smaller pieces during training works wonders, they last longer and keep Sparkler engaged without overfeeding her. Also, keep an eye on online deals, sometimes you can nab these treats at a significantly lower price.

Has anyone else noticed changes in their pup’s behavior or responses after switching to Fromm?

So happy to hear so many positive reviews about Happy Hips! I’ve been giving them to my Lab, Max, for a couple of months now and he gets absolutely ecstatic every time. I mean tail wagging at lightning speed, the whole nine yards! One thing I’ve noticed though, they are a bit on the harder side. There’s never been an issue for Max, but has anyone else found them too tough for their pups? Just curious. As for the price, it is a little steep compared to other treats but honestly worth it considering how much Max seems to enjoy them! Always remember that if your pup has any difficulties or you have concerns, it might be best to check with your vet before trying a new treat.

Totally on board with your praises for Fruitables! I’ve got a small Jack Russell called Benji who’s an absolute fiend for these treats. What I really love about Fruitables is that they’re small enough for regular use without overloading him with calories. Plus, the chewy texture seems to give him some good jaw exercise. I’ve been getting great deals on bulk packs from our local pet store, which definitely helps the wallet too.

Just as a wee tip – if you’ve got a clever pupster who enjoys a challenge, try hiding a couple of these treats in their favorite playing space. It’s been fantastic for Benji’s problem-solving skills and he literally can’t resist the pumpkin flavored ones. Any other clever uses you all have found for these tasty morsels?

dog lovers out there! I must say I’ve been following the Happy Hips treats topic with interest. Having a 13-year-old Labrador who’s a real treat gourmand, I’ve always been on the lookout for tasty yet healthy options. Having tried them based on your experiences shared here, I find my fellow exhibits a noticeable pep in his step lately; however, I do have one question on the size of the treats – do they come in different sizes? Am asking so as I feel the small bite-sized portions can be a bit too small for him, and he’s kinda struggling to pick them up from his bowl. Anyone else having this same observation? Nevertheless, despite the sizing issue, they seem like a good option for my old boy. So thanks heaps for sharing your thoughts guys and keep those reviews coming!

Oh, Murphy and Bella are definitely not alone! I also fell for Grandma Lucy’s due to their catchy packaging but soon found out they weren’t that fantastic when their magic wore off on Rosie, my Boxer. The treats seemed fine at first – nice size, plant-based materials, seemingly durable. But like you guys noted, Rosie just lost interest after a couple weeks. Honestly considering the price point, I expected way more durability. My advice? Maybe mix these treats up with others so your dog doesn’t get bored as fast. Anyone else tries this approach with any success? Let a guy know! Oh and remember, if your pups aren’t eating or reacting weirdly to new treatst, always consult the vet!
