Just out of curiosity, has anyone else’s dog turned their “indestructible” bed into a pile of fluff? Or is that just a Chubs special?

Sure, it’s bit pricier but considering how many “indestructible” beds turned into fluff mountains…it’s more cost-effective in the end for us. Plus, she seems so comfy on it, which at her age is my main priority.

Has anyone else found they’re saving money in the long run with these durable higher-end beds?

I totally get your frustration with the whole ‘indestructible’ bed situation. Been there, done that. Before switching to PetFusion Ultimate Dog Bed, my Lab mix would turn every new comfy cushion into stuffing confetti within a week. It was like his personal pastime – if only they gave out Olympics medals for bed destruction!

However, I’ve had the PetFusion bed for good 10 months now and it’s holding up pretty damn well – no fluff piles in sight yet! Plus, it’s also giving my old boy what he needs most – a comfy spot to snooze without causing his joints any trouble. So yeah, I’m all-in for PetFusion being pricer if it lasts longer and provides better comfort for my fur-son.

But hey – has anyone tried washing their PetFusion? Wodnering if the mattress fairing okay in the machine. Fido decided his bed needed a “enhanced” smell😞

Just a quick tip though: give the cover a good wash before you first use it. The smell was a bit overwhelming for my lil guy at start. Has anyone else had that problem before? Anyway, fully agree with all other points y’all made above.

I second washing the cover first though. Had that weird smell for a bit but went away completely after a spin in the washer. Quality wise, no complaints at all so far. The memory foam has kept its shape and the cover has handled all the washing and doggy wear-and-tear like a champ!

Have you noticed any color fading on your cover after washing? Mine’s still good as new (we’ve got the brown), but curious to know if anyone else had different results.

Here’s some advice from my side though – make sure ya toss in thier favorite blanket or toy when you introduce them to the bed. Helps them feel right at home from day one. Scruffy took to his new bed like a fish to water once I put his old teddy in there.

By the way, has anyone tried their jumbo size? Wondering if it’s worth for my buddy who’s getting bit chunky (aren’t we all in this pndemic, lol)…

Another thing you might wanna try is warming it up a little before the first use, maybe wrap it in their fave blanket fresh out of the dryer – worked wonders for us and helped with that ‘foreign’ feel it initially has.

Anyone else tried any other orthopedic beds that might compare? Always good to have alternatives on hand considering how fast this one seems to sell out!

So, funny thing is, my Betsy took to the PetFusion Ultimate Dog Bed like a duck to water! Didn’t have any of that weird smell you guys are discussing here. In fact, washed or not, she just sunk right in annd her snores were music to my ears. 😄

I totally agree with wrapping thier fav blanket around for a bit though. A sense of familiarity can often make such a big difference for them to accept new stuffs. But honestly, I didn’t notice a need for warming up this bed before use. It seemed pretty comfortable off the bat. 👍

Anyway, another tip – I’ve been using lavender oil on Betsy’s bed (just couple of drops). Not only does it keep the bed smelling fresh but also has a calming effect on Betsy’s sleep. So if your fur babies are having trouble adapting, maybe give that stratgy a spin? And feel free to share how it goes!

Lastly, could the odor issue be more noticeable with certain colors or was that the case across the board? 🤔

    Hope this helps!
