ParticipantI gotta say, I have the Whistle Go Explore for my Lab and it’s quite the gadget. It’s a bit bulkier than I expected, and the material, though durable doesn’t feel as premium as some other brands. But once my dog got used to it, he didn’t even notice any extra weight on him. What impressed me most is its battery durability. I’ve charged it only twice in a month and its still going! For the price, compared to other GPS devices out there, it’s pretty fair considering what you’re getting.
You know, one tips I found helpful was gradually introducing the device to our routine – started by just attaching it on his leash for walks before permanently fixing onto his collar. This seems to help him get accommodated pretty quickly.
Has anyone else tried doing this or something similar? Any different tricks in easing your pups into new gear like the Whistle Go Explore?

ParticipantI’ve been using the Whistle Go Explore for my Golden Retriever for about 6 months now and I can vouch for its reliability. Agree that it is a bit on the bulkier side, but it seems quite sturdy. My Harry has a knack for wrestling and rolling around in bushes during our hikes and this device has withstood all of his adventures unscratched! Were you able to find the right fit for your Lab? One trick I found helpful is gradually introducing him to it by attaching it to his collar only during our walks before making it a permanent fixture. Has anyone else tried this approach as well?

ParticipantWhile the Whistle Go Explore definitely has some cool features, I found that my energetic Boxer didn’t take too well to the size and weight of it. The material though sturdy, can be a bit heavy for smaller breeds. For anyone facing a similar issue, the Fi series might be a better option – they are a bit more streamlined and lightweight in terms of design.
Quick Tip: No matter what tracker you choose, always get your dog to wear it around the house for a day or two before venturing outside. This gives them time to get accustomed to the new ‘add-on’.
Has anyone else tried introducing their pet to a new accessory in this way?

ParticipantWell, I’ve got the Whistle Go Explore on my Dalmatian, Spot, and it’s certainly beefy for such a spotty dog! You can’t really miss the thing, even when it’s buried under a pile of my old smelly socks. That said, durability is something else. Spot loves digging around in the backyard and after a day or two of his shenanigans, the device showed visible scratches.
Now on to the price…anyone else think it’s asking a bit too much for what it offers? Trust me, 17 years in the dog owner game teaches you value when you see it. Did anyone manage to snatch this up for a deal under 100 bucks? And just out of curiosity, did any of you guys find your Go Explore on the heavier side too or is it just my delicate Dalmatian complaining?

ParticipantTotally agree with you about the durability and cool features of the Whistle Go Explore, but did anyone else find it a bit big for smaller breeds? I tried putting it on my little Pomeranian, Fluff, and it was certainly a sight! She strutted around looking like she was wearing a bulky walkie-talkie. I’m guessing this device is meant more for medium to large-sized dogs. What other tracking devices have worked well for those with smaller fur babies?

ParticipantI totally see where you guys are coming from with the Whistle Go Explore. I actually tried it out on my high-energy Border Collie, Sammy, and to be honest, it was a bit of a mixed bag for us. The durability and size were impressive, but Sammy is very sensitive and wasn’t really feelin’ it – the device seemed a bit weighty on her.
Noticed some of you mentioned price too – this tool isn’t necessarily budget-friendly. If you’re looking to save some penny but still want similar features, I’d recommend checking out the Fi Smart Dog Collar. It’s lighter and more affordable from my experience.
Just wondering, has anyone else here tried both the Whistle Go Explore and the Fi Collar? Would love to hear how they compare for other breeds and sizes!

ParticipantWhile the Whistle Go Explore certainly has its merits, I’ve personally found that the Fi Smart Dog Collar works better for my Border Collie, Max. The overall comfort and size of the Fi collar seemed more suitable, especially considering his medium size. Plus, it’s battery life is killer! It lasted about 3 months on a single charge even though Max has some serious wanderlust and we do daily park visits. Just something to consider if Spot is an active pooch like mine. Has anyone else tried the Fi collar? Would love to hear your experiences!

ParticipantWell, you nailed it right on the head with the Whistle Go Explore! Of my 15-year dog parenting journey, this gadget has to be one of the most durable I’ve found. Take my English Bulldog, Tubs—he’s a natural-born destroyer, chewed through a slew of GPS trackers before we landed on this one.
And listen to this—Tubs once rolled around in the muddiest puddle he could find when we were hiking (typical), came out looking like a chocolate cake and the Whistle was just as muddy. But after a quick rinse under the tap, it was good as new! The material is impressive, really holds up.
Sure, it may be a bit pricey, but considering the number of trackers Tubs wrecked in his time? Honestly, It’s paid for itself! How about you guys, how has it been holding up against your little chewers?

ParticipantAbsolutely agree with the praises for the Whistle Go Explore, I’ve been using it for about a year now and it’s been great. The size is pretty compact, making it comfortable for my Golden Retriever, Max to wear without getting bothered. It certainly lived up to its claim of being both shockproof and waterproof, Max both jumps around and loves his swims but the device doesn’t show any signs of damage so far. As for price, it’s an investment definately but the peace of mind it gives me when he runs off in the park is simply priceless. Anyone else using it for water-loving dogs? Would love to hear your experiences!

ParticipantI totally see the appeal of Whistle Go Explore. I gave it a try about a year ago for my active German Sheperd, Arlo. We had this device for almost six months, but ultimately, we opted for the Link AKC Smart Dog Collar. The thing is, Arlo is big and very energetic, and the Whistle Go Explore’s size was a smidge bulky for his taste. Plus, from a durability standpoint, the Link AKC stood out more due to its sturdy material that survived countless ‘zoomies’ (indoor and outdoor tearing around).
One handy tip though when switching dog tech – gradually introduce any new device to your fur friend, maybe start by attaching it to their existing collar. They’ll be more comfortable with the unfamiliar gadget hanging by their neck after some time. For any concerns or questions like allergic reactions or if your fur buddy’s behavior suddenly changes, always consider a visit to your vet.
In terms of price, yes, I found Whistle on the pricier side compared to Link AKC specially considering their defined features aren’t too different. If you’re in doubt or just looking around at alternatives before making a final decision, you might want to check out Link AKC Smart Collar. Has anyone else got the chance to compare these two? What are your thoughts?

ParticipantI’m totally in agreement with all the positive feedback on this incredible device. I’ve had the Whistle Go Explore for my adventurous Boxer for about 2 years and it’s still going strong despite all her off-trail escapades. It fits perfectly on her collar, never causing any discomfort and has stood up amazingly well to the test of time and rough play. Quite impressive!
Although it’s a bit pricy upfront, it turned out to be quite worth it over time with making sure my gal isn’t wandering off too far or getting lost while hiking those tricky trails! Just wanted to add that I find the reports on sleep patterns & activity levels are pretty interesting and useful as well.
Anyone else noticed any unexpected benefits from using the Whistle? Like maybe changes in your dog’s behavior or routine after using it?

ParticipantYou know, I’ve got to say, while the Whistle Go Explore is a pretty nifty gadget with its compact size annd durable material, let me tell you about my little adventure. See, I took my trusty furball, Sparky, out on a hiking trip last summer. Our journey turned into a bit of a wrong-turn escapade (blame the human, not the pup), and poor Sparky’s tracker lost connection due to being in a low signal area. Had me worried sick!
Anyone looking for a pet tracker that works beyond Wi-Fi range might want to consider another product.
So yeah, the Whistle Go Explore does have plenty of merits. But ensure it fits your needs based on where you live or plan on adventuring. And remember – always check if your area has good signal coverage before trusting entirely in tech!

ParticipantI couldn’t agree more with your experiences using the Whistle Go Explore! I’ve been using it for my Labradoodle Benji, who loves exploring our local park annd sometimes tends to wander a tad out of my sight. The device is impressively compact and well-built; it hasn’t shown any signs of wear so far (and Benji isn’t gentle!). Just a tip for new users: make sure you correctly input your dog’s size and weight in the app. It makes a huge difference in tracking activity levels accurately. Totally worth its price tag when it comes to peace of mind and keeping our furry friends healthy and safe!

ParticipantI couldn’t agree more with how handy the Whistle Go Explore has been. It’s compact indeed, but it houses some powerful and useful features – from tracking to setting “safe zones” for your fur friend. The durability of this gadget is also impressive; my Jack Russel Terrier, Eddie, is a hyperactive explorer who has no issues roughing it out in parks and trails. Despite his activity levels, the Whistle Go held up amazingly well! But with all said and done, do you guys think the price tag justify its benefits? For those who already have one, was it easy to introdcue the device to your dog? I recall Eddie being nonplussed initially but he eventually grew accustomed to it.

ParticipantAbsolutely. The Whistle Go Explore has been such a game-changer for me and my buddy Rover too. I like how small, light and easy to attach it is on his collar – perfect for those adventurous walks in the park. Just last week, Rover suddenly got overly excited and dashed off when he saw a squirrel; thanks to this device, I could see exactly where he was on my phone – what a relief! I find the gadget pretty durable too despite Rover’s frequent romps around in rough terrains. Price-wise, it’s a bit steep but considering the peace of mind it provides, I’d say it’s worth every penny.
