Well, funny you should mention the Fi Series 3. Got one a few months back for my ol’ reliable Lab, Bruno. He’s a classic – big loyal eyes, tail that has its own time zone…and a Houdini level knack for sneaky escapes! Now pardon my chuckle, but the collateral ain’t perfect. You see, compared to my previous collar, it had a bit of that ‘plastic-y’ feel and slightly bulkier for my taste. But hey, theoretically it seemed unbreakable!

It promised the moon stat-wise; GPS tracking, activity monitor and what not. The cost though..ooof! A king’s ransom if ya ask me! Anyway, decided to ignore the dent in my wallet ’cause who can put a price tag on peace of mind right? However after couple weeks in use I became friendly with my socket again charging it every so often.

Now here’s where things got interesting. We switched our walking park, which was apparently a challenge for dear Fi. Took a while to calibrate to new surroundings and I was half expecting Bruno to post his next location himself!

So in conclusion folks; if you got extra cash lying about and you are fine with giving it extra TLC (I mean charging), then yeah go ahead embrace the tech. But if you’re an old hat like me satisfied with basics, might I suggest simpler sturdy collars or even microchips? Sometimes going low-tech ain’t too bad y’know. So any of you guys considered traditional collaring or chipping route instead of these smart collars?

I see quite a few folks here speaking highly of the Fi Series 3 collar. My experience with it has been somewhat mixed though, I must say. Got one for my energetic Springer Spaniel, Winston, and while the GPS tracking feature is top-notch, I found the collar itself to be a bit on the chunkier side. In terms of durability, it’s solid without question, but I observed it was slightly uncomfortable for Winnie during our longer walks or playtimes.

For Winston’s comfort, I switched back to a more traditional collar after a couple months and added a separate lightweight GPS tracker attachment. It might not look as sleek as the Fi Series 3, but considering doggo’s comfort first always works for us. Anybody else experienced something similar? Or maybe had other models to recommend that aren’t quite as bulky?

I couldn’t help but chime in with my own experience using the Fi Series 3, especially with how it held up for my rambunctious Boxer, Clancy. We’ve been using ours for about a year now. I have to say, the durability has impressed me significantly–Clancy is a fan of dredging up her stuff from any puddle she can find!

Regarding sizing, it’s worth mentioning that the Fi Series 3 does seem to run a bit large; we got a medium based on Clancy’s neck size but ended up needing to swap it out for a small to get the right fit. So consider going a size down when you order.

On the price side, some people might feel hesitant because of the initial investment. But trust me, considering its features like lost dog mode and fitness tracking along with its overall quality construction, this collar truly is more than just a pretty gadget. It’s been invaluable in giving us peace of mind with Clancy’s antics.

That said, anyone else find themselves charging their Fi collar more often than they expected? I’d love to hear your thoughts on battery life too.

I’ve been using the Fi Series 3 collar for some time now on my energetic golden retriever and here’s what I have to say. It’s a durable piece but you need to be careful with the sizing. Got an extra-large at first and it was way too loose for fluffy ol’ Max, had to swap out for a large instead. The battery life is pretty decent and the material holds up well even with a lot of roughhousing. But with the premium price tag, I’d expect nothing less. Anyone else had any issues getting the perfect fit or was it just me missing Max’s measurements?
