MemberI’ve had my German Shepherd, Max, on Kal Kan food for about a year now. Max is usually pretty picky but took to it right away. The kibble size is just right and seems easy for him to chew. Plus, the price point doesn’t hurt at all – it’s quite affordable for the quality you get.
Nutritionally, it’s comparable to many of the pricier brands out there with a good meat protein content. Do be mindful thogh, check the label and consult your vet as some dogs might need additional supplements depending on their breed or health conditions.
One downside I’ve noticed is that it’s not always readily available in all the stores around me, so I tend to bulk buy when I find them in stock.
Hope this helps! But remember, every dog is different so what works for my Max might not be as effective for your furry friend. It’s all about finding what suits them best! 🐾👍

MemberI’ve tried Kal Kan for my pup, a spry little Beagle named Bella. Honestly, I didn’t find it dazzling, but it’s not too shabby either. All depends on what you’re looking for in your dog’s food.
First off, Bella seemed to like the taste – wolfed it down without blinking an eye. On the downside, the ingredient list is more fillers than high-quality protein. It did a bang-up job in keeping her energy levels up and maintaining her weight which matters to me with Beagle’s tendency towards obesity.
On the flip side, I noticed that her coat was a little less shiny than usual and she had some minor digestive issues in the beginning. Not really a big deal but something to pay attention to.
Pricewise, Kal Kan fits comfortably into the budget category, so if you’re watching your pennies this could be a solid choice.
So yep, mixed feelings here! Just keep an eye out for any unusual reactions from your fur-baby if you decide to try it!
All the best!

MemberIn terms of ingredients, though, I must admit that I was slightly concerned at first glance as it does have some corn and soy product which aren’t the best. But I chatted with our vet and she assured me that as long as Cooper is active and not showing any allergic reactions (which he isn’t) it should be okay.
Kal Kan definitely fits more into my budget compared to other brands. Please keep in mind each dog is different though, so what works for Cooper might not work for your pooch! Always good to try out and check with your vet too. Hope this helps!

MemberIn my experience, Kal Kan has been a great choice for my fur babies. I appreciate that it’s an affordable option and you get quite a bit for what you pay. My dogs seem to really like the taste too – they chow it right down whenever I put it in their bowls.
One thing I did notice though is that the ingredient list isn’t as high quality as some of the more expensive brands. It has a lot of fillers and grains, which isn’t ideal for dogs with allergies or those who need a grain-free diet.
That being said, my dogs have always done well on it, with no negative health effects so far (touch wood). Their coats are shiny and they’re full of energy. If budget is a consideration for you, Kal Kan might be worth trying out!
Remember though every dog is unique and what works great for mine might not suit yours! Always watch how your pup responds to a new food and consult with your vet if you’re unsure.
Cheers!

MemberOne thing I particularly like is the ingredient list. It’s straightforward without too much of that “mystery meat” stuff you sometimes see in other brands. Plus, Bella’s coat has never been shinier, and her energy is through the roof! However, just like any dog food, it’s best to gradually introduce this into your dog’s diet to keep their stomach from getting upset.
Still, the price point is super wallet-friendly which comes in handy if you’re budgeting like me (who isn’t these days!). But it does have plenty of corn and grain fillers, so if your pup has any grain sensitivities, that might be a consideration.
I reckon you should give Kal Kan a try – Bella sure gives it a paw’s up! Remember to keep an eye on your doggo for any reactions or changes. Every pooch responds differently to new diets.
All the best with your decision, mate!05/28/2024 at 2:22 PM #2482CozyHusky1951
MemberWell, he took to it like fish to water – so that was a good sign. His coat stayed shiny and his energy levels were right up there like usual. One thing I did notice though? His stool was not as firm as when we had him on the pricier brand we used before. We got vet checked and all, and he’s doing fine. Might just be his reaction to the change.
All said and done, if budget is a bit tight for you and you have run out of options; give Kal Kan a try. It’s definitely acceptable quality but monitor your pupper’s reactions closely in case they don’t get along with it. After all, every dog is unique!

MemberOh wow, Kal Kan. I haven’t fed that to my pooch in years. As I remember it, she didn’t really care for it much and seemed a little less energetic than usual around the time I was feeding her Kal Kan. I switched over to a brand called Taste of the Wild, and she picked up almost immediately.
I’ve heard some say their dogs absolutely love Kal Kan though, so maybe it just depends on each dog’s individual tastes and dietary needs? If your dog has a sensitive stomach or any special dietary requirements, I’d recommend chatting with your vet before making the switch. Nothing says ‘I love you’ like making sure your fur baby is healthy and happy!
Just my two cents, of course. What’s best for one dog may not be the case for another. Every pup is unique!

MemberI’ve been feeding my 5-year-old Labrador, Max, Kal Kan dog food for the last few months. He seems to gobble it up without any fuss and as far as I can tell, he’s still healthy and active. The price is certainly a plus – it’s definitely one of the more affordable brands out there.
But really, every dog is different. Some might react differently to certain ingredients. Max has never shown any allergies or uncomfortable reaction, but that doesn’t mean all dogs would have the same experience. My advice is to give it a try but keep an eye out on your furry friend’s reaction; if anything seems off, switch things up.
Also, it wouldn’t hurt to check with your vet just to make sure Kal Kan suits your dog’s dietary needs before you fully switch. Better safe than sorry!
Hope this helps 🙂

MemberI’ll be honest with you, when I first saw the price tag I was dubious – thought it can’t be great quality for that price, right? But I gave it a shot after hearing some decent reviews, and boy was I surprised. It’s actually packed with all the nutrients Bobby needs to keep smashing those long walks we always take!
One thing though, if your fur-baby is a picky eater they might turn their nose up at this one. The flavor options aren’t realy expansive. Bobby isn’t too fussed about variety so it works out fine for us.
Just to note – if your pooch has any specific dietary requirements, please consult your vet before making any serious changes to his or her diet! Always better to be safe than sorry.
All in all, considering its price point and nutritional balance, I’d rank Kal Kan as a solid choice for anyone on a budget wanting quality food for their doggy pals.

MemberI’ve been buying Kal Kan for our Lab mix for around 6 months now. Honestly, I have to say it’s a hit and miss. On the plus side, it’s budget-friendly and you can’t beat the convenience of being able to pick it up at most grocery stores.
But I was a bit concerned about the ingredients though. It’s got some fillers like corn and soybean meal, which isn’t awesome if you’re looking for a high protein diet for your pup. Also, my little guy tends to get gassy after eating it – not fun, lemme tell you!
All in all, it gets the job done but make sure to check with your vet first. Dogs are just like us – individual dietary needs vary, and what works for one might not work for another, y’know? Now we’ve switched over to a grain-free brand with more protein and fewer fillers as recommended by our vet.
So yeah, hope that helps a little! Just remember to look after yourselves and your furry pals alike. Let me know if you need anymore info. Cheers!

MemberHowever, as with any dog food, I did my homework first to ensure it was a good fit for my fur baby. It’s decently priced and contains grains like corn and soy which can be controversial for some. Personally, I have not witnessed any adverse reactions from her – no allergies or upset stomach.
One thing I do advise is to switch slowly; if you’re changing from another brand of dog food, gradually mix in some Kal Kan over a week or two. Dogs’ digestive systems can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diet.
Bottom line is every dog’s different so while mine thrives on it, yours might be different. As always, it’s best to consult with the vet first before making any major diet changes. Happy feeding!

MemberAs far as how it’s worked out nutritionally, I haven’t seen any ill effects. His coat is still nice and shiny, his weight has been steady, and he hasn’t had any issues with digestion or anything like that. I do add a multivitamin supplement sometimes just to make sure he’s getting everything he needs. Vet says he’s in great shape.
I also love that it’s pretty affordable compared to some of the higher-end stuff out there. Our budget thanked us for making the switch!
One thing I will say though – go easy when you’re transitioning your dog onto a new food. Maybe mix it with their old chow for a bit just so they don’t get upset stomachs from the changeover.
But yeah, overall we’re big fans of Kal Kan over here. Give it a go and see how your pup likes it!

MemberJust spotted your request for a Kal Kan review. My Lab, Rusty, has been on it for about 6 months now. I gotta admit, I was skeptical at first – the price is pretty affordable and you know what they say about “getting what you pay for”.
But honestly, I’ve only seen good things since he’s been eating this brand. His coat is shinier than ever and energy level is through the roof! We haven’t experienced any stomach or digestion issues either which happened with a previous brand (won’t name name but rhymes with “Burina”).
Ingredients-wise, it might not be top-tier with fancy stuff like blueberries or wild-caught salmon but it hits all the basics and Rusty seems to love it.
All in all, I’d say it’s an underrated gem in the dog food world. If you’re on strict budget but still want something nutritious for your pup, give Kal Kan a try. But remember every dog is different so keep an eye on how your fur baby reacts over the first few weeks.
Catch ya later & happy feeding!

MemberRocky’s coat has been especially glossy lately and he seems more energetic than ever since we switched to Kal Kan. The only downside I’d say is the smell – it’s a bit stronger than other brands. But given how much Rocky loves it and how affordable it is, we’re willing to brave that minor inconvenience. On the whole, definitely recommend trying Kal Kan dog food out for your furry friends.

MemberJust saw your post about Kal Kan dog food and wanted to chime in with my two cents. I’ve been using it for about 8 months now for my golden retriever, Bailey. She loves it, no exaggeration. Eats it right up every single time.
I love that it has plenty of vitamins and minerals and the right balance of proteins too. Plus, Bailey’s coat has never looked shinier or healthier which I think is partly due to this diet. That being said, every pup is different and what works wonders for Bailey might not exactly do the trick for yours.
On the downside, it can sometimes be a bit smelly when you first open the can (but then again, aren’t most wet foods?). If your pupper isn’t overly picky over smells but enjoys good taste, this should be just fine!
In terms of price, it’s pretty mid-range. Not super cheap but also not burning a hole in my wallet.
But hey, at the end of the day, talking to your vet before making a switch is always best. They’ll understand better about what specific nutritional needs your furry pal would require! 🙂
Hope this helps!
