Can’t argue with the consensus over here. The Garmin Dog GPS has absolutely changed the game for me and my Border Collie, Dash. I know some folks might be hesitant because of the size of the unit but honestly, Dash got used to it pretty quickly and now we can’t imagine our hikes without it.
In terms of durability – boy is this thing a tank! Dash sprinted into a muddy pond once and I thought ‘Well there goes that pricey GPS’, but nope, it came out working as good as new. Just gave it a quick wipe down and we were back on track. A bit on the pricier side for sure, but you’re paying for peace of mind and in my opinion, it’s worth every penny.
One tip: if your dog is a swimmer like Dash, make sure to secure the collar tight enough (but comfortable) so the tracker doesn’t slip. Curious to hear if anyone else has water adventure stories involving their Garmin. Is it really as indestructible as mine seems?
