I gotta say, early days impression was above and beyond – he sprawled out on that thing like he’d climbed into a cloud. Definitely more than just a smidge comfy, I’d say. After about 24 hours, there was no getting him off it!

But then, few months later… thing starts to dip in the middle – kinda cratering-ish? Max wasn’t too pleased either. He started doing his unique, grumpy old man face every time he goes to lay down.

Out of curiosity, anyone else experienced this? Did yours hold up better over time? Also any tips for fluffing it back up would be appreciated!

Tip: Get the waterproof cover if you’re goona buy the bed. You never know with these lads when an accident might happen or they decide it’s their new chew toy lol!
Anyone else here has a giant breed who’s tried the Big Barker? Curious to know your thoughts!

Anyone here tried other orthopedic brands? Maybe something that comes with bolstered sides? Terry sometimes likes to use ’em as pillows. 😉

Considerin other brands? I did, but landed back at Big Barker cos their orthopedic formula seems to hit that sweet spot between comfy and supportive. Bessy has some hip issues and ever since we got the bed, she seems less wobbly post nap.

So, in my experience – yeah, definitely worth it. But hey, each dog has their own preference so maybe introduce them with few options and see which one is their favorite 🐾

there fellow dog lovers! So, I saw some chatter about the Big Barker bed and thought I’d share my experiences too. I gotta say, after trying other brands that promised the world and delivered… well, not much… the Big Barker was a refreshing change! You can actually feel the quality of the materials they use – it’s impressive, really. Frankie, my golden retriever, never used to sleep through the night until we got him the Big Barker – now he’s out like a light!

Now, I totally get wanting bolstered sides (hey terry_so) but personally, I found that Frankie really enjoys stretching out flat without anything hindering his ‘bed yoga’ sessions haha. Before switching over to Big Barker though, frnkie was using Bedsure Orthopedic Pet Sofa Bed. It had raised edges if bolster is what you are after! Definitley not as durable as the Big Barker but still an okay option to consider.

Oh, and p.s., despite having zero gathering skills (I struggled with an IKEA shelf once), found the setup pretty straightforward with this one. Hope this helps someone who’s on the fence!

But yes, as someone mentioned earlier, make sure you measure your dog correctly before you order. My initial purchase was a size too small for Brody (blame my poor measuring skills 🙈). Luckily their customer service is great and sorted it all out. So overall… Big Barker? Worth every penny.

Oh btw anyone else’s dog have that annoying habit of trying to hide food in their bed? Brody’s guilty as charged and cleaning up can be a chore sometimes! Is there a hack for that I wonder… 🤔

On an alternative note, we swapped to a Bully bed and it’s been much better – firmer foam & seems more durable. Anyone else tried these? Might be worth looking into if your pupper is a larger breed like mine!

I haven’t tried the Bully bed yet – sounds interesting tho. Is the foam in thsoe ones dense enough for heavier dogs?

That said, I get where you’re coming from. The Bully bed sounds intriguing – i might give that a shot for our other pupper (who’s admittedly a little less of a ‘big barker’). Any thoughts on how these beds fare with dogs that are fonder of digging before they settle down?

I can’t speak to the Bully bed though, haven’t tried that one out yet. Does it hold up as well for bigger breeds? Might have to look into it if you all are finding it firmer and better. But overall, from a big dog owner’s perspective, I’d say the Big Barker is pretty worth it!

But honestly, it all depends on your pup’s needs. If they’re suffering from arthritis or any other joint issues, then the Big Barker bed with its orthopedic foam is definitely worth the investment. For younger pups or those without physical ailments, you might consider checking out cheaper options. Anybody tried the Furhaven Pet Dog Bed? Our little Pomeranian loves it.

I keep hearing about the ‘Friends Forever Orthopedic Dog Bed’, thoughtss?
