I’ve used Minties for my Beagle, Oscar, for a couple years now and he absolutely loves them. They’re a decent size for small to medium dogs and the texture is fairly durable, it keeps him occupied for quite some time. However, I’m not completely sold on the price point. Minties aren’t the cheapest dog treat option out there, but quality products rarely are.

Just a side note – although Minties advertise their treats as promoting fresh breath, don’t expect a miracle. Oscar’s breath has improved somewhat, but nothing too drastic. Still, it’s a nice bonus alongside the dental benefits.

If anyone’s considering an alternative for any reason, I’ve also tried Greenies Dental Treats with Oscar. Similar benefits, slightly less expensive but they didn’t last as long – Oscar would gobble those up in no time!

Anyone else noticed any significant improvements in your pups’ breath after giving minty treat? Just curious if it’s been more effective with other dogs or specific breeds.

I’ve been giving Minties to my Lab, Molly, for about a year now. She absolutely adores them and the size suits her big mouth just right. I’ve noticed they last quite long, probably due to their durable texture which is a bonus because it keeps her entertained for longer. The price might seem a bit on the higher side but honestly, you do get what you pay for in terms of quality and longevity. Just make sure to introduce them slowly to avoid any potential stomach upset – that’s what I did with Mol and she adjusted perfectly fine. If in doubt, a quick check with the vet never hurts! Anyone else had positive experiences with introducing these treats?

Absolutely agree with you both! I’ve been using Minties for my German Shepherd, Max, for about 2 years now. They’re quite durable and perfect for a chewer like him. When it comes to size, they have different options which is great. I usually opt for the large one for Max, keeps him busy for longer. As far as price goes, I think they’re reasonable for the quality that we’re getting. For any owners wondering about how to introduce these treats, I’d recommend starting with smaller sizes and gradually moving up – just helps your dog get used to it better. Just remember, although minties are good for dental health, it’s no substitute for regular brushing or vet checks.

Couldn’t agree more with you folks! Been buying Minties for my poodle, Bella, also, and they’re just fantastic in keeping her breath fresh. The size is an exact fit for her small mouth and she seems to really like the texture; she hasn’t turned one down yet! For the price point and durability (each treat lasts a good while), I think they’re an excellent choice. Always remember though, treats should be given in moderation as part of a balanced diet so monitor your dog’s total calorie intake. As an aside, Bella’s curious about other flavors, anybody tried a different flavored dental treat that their fur buddies loved? Let’s exchange notes!

Totally agree with all of you. I’ve been using Minties for my golden retriever, Bruno, for over a year and he just can’t get enough of them! I have noticed an improvement in his breath and he seems to really enjoy the crunchy texture. Plus, they’re reasonably priced which is always a big plus for me as an owner.

Quick question though: Has anyone tried using these treats during training sessions? Bruno has quite the energetic personality and we’re always looking for ways to incorporate rewarding him into those sessions without overfeeding him. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I’ve been browsing this thread and hearing your experiences with Minties dog treats has piqued my interest. Do you think they would be suitable for a smaller breed like a Shih Tzu? My little guy, Bosco, is prone to dental issues, but I don’t want anything too hard that might bother his delicate teeth. Also, are these things on the pricier side? I’ve no problem investing in good treats for Bosco, but just wanna ensure they’re worth the bucks! Any tips for introducing Minties to him? Cheers for any advice!

Just chiming in here, as well. I’ve been using Minties for my Bulldog, Buster, for a few months now. He’s quite picky with treats, but these he devours, and they seem to be helping him maintain his dental health too. Plus the size is perfect for him – not too small to swallow whole and not too big for his mouth either. A little tip though – make sure you store them properly or they tend to lose their freshness after a while. I keep them sealed in the original packet inside an airtight container and that’s worked great so far! Any one else had experience with other flavors? We’re just dabbling with the peppermint right now.

Agreeing wholeheartedly with previous posts, Minties have been a go-to treat for our Dalmatian, Pongo. A plus we have noticed- the size and hardness of the Minties really seem to jumpstart his gnawing instincts which is great for dental hygiene but without making him uncomfortable or risking damage to his teeth. I’d say they are sturdy but not excessively hard. On the price point, I think they offer pretty good value considering the quality and longevity per treat. My advice would be, though, introduce them gradually especially if your pooch is not used to hard treats otherwise they might find it a bit overwhelming. Ever wondered what other brands people have tried and liked apart from Minties?
