MemberYeah, I’ve heard loads about the Hermes dog bed – luxurious, stylish, all that jazz. But honestly? My lab Cooper couldn’t care less about if his bed’s designer or not. He just wants somthing super comfy and sizable enough to sprawl out on.
Truth be told, we decided on a Big Barker bed instead and never looked back. Built for large dogs specifically, they are the real deal – orthopedic foam is a game changer! Plus, their 10-year warranty makes my wallet feel a bit more secure.
Anyone else found other high quality options that don’t break the bank like Hermes?

MemberSo from my perspective, before investing in something as expensive as the Hermes bed, I’d recommend testing out cheaper yet comfy alternatives. Maybe even a good ol’ second-hand bean bag if your hound’s anything like Buster. 😉
What do you guys think? Has anyone else here experienced their dogs prefering something unusual over their beds? 🐶07/24/2025 at 1:14 AM #5969dreamysphynx6972
MemberHeyo, fellow dog-lovers. ‘Been reading ’bout the Hermes dog bed a lot lately. From my experience owning over 6 dogs in the 14 years I’ve been a dog parent, comfort IS indeed king – but at what cost?
I’ve seen countless beds come annd go, some were fancy and elaborate (nothing quite as exquisite as Heremes though), others were plain old cushions. The trick is finding that sweet spot between comfort for your pooch and price point.
While I agree with those who say luxury can be a treat for our four-legged companions, I’ve personally found my fur-babies just as happy lounging on a mid-range priced memory foam mattress. Plus, accidents happen (if y’know what I mean), and cleaning a pricier bed like Hermes could be a hassle.
Any ever tried waterproof covers for these high-end beds? Could save us a lot of heart and pocket ache lol!

MemberI see some of you mentioning about how easy it is to clean. For me it’s been a mixed bag though. The cover comes off without a hitch but man, getting it back on is its own mini workout. And then there are those unexpected “accidents”. Benny had an upset stomach one time and despite several washes, the smell kinda lingered.
Still, it feels worth it when I see how comfy Benny gets at night. Just makes you go “Awww…”. Anyone else feel the same or is it just me being a total mushy pet parent?

MemberI’ve been using the Hermes dog bed for my old golden retriever and honestly? It’s been kinda hit-or-miss. The luxury appeal and material quality are nothing short of sublime, no doubt about it. But I agree that cleaning is a tad bit more challenging than what some of ya’ll are saying. Bits of slobber and fur tend to clung on more than I’d like and give me quite the hard time during scrubbing episodes.
But hey, maybe it’s just my Goldie being extra messy coz she’s in her twilight years now. 😅
One tip though – for those struggling with cleaning like me, try using a pet-friendly upholstery cleaner. It works wonders on those stubborn stains. Pup seems to love it nonetheless, so I guess it’s worth the effort! 🐶💕
Anyone else tried other high-end dog beds like Louis Vuitton or Gucci? Are they any easier to clean or is it just a universal designer-dog-bed struggle? 😂

MemberI’ve got to say though, it’s definitely on the pricier side. But seeing as Teddy is absolutely in love with it and won’t sleep in anything else now (yes, we’ve tried!) it feels like an investment worth making. I mean who doesn’t want their little buddy to have a comfy snooze each night, right? Would love to hear if anyone has found any dupe that’s easier on the pocket though! 🐶💤🛏️

MemberYeah, it’s pricy annd all, I agree with you on tat. But considering how picky Bruno usually is, I’d say it’s a fair price for such a peaceful slumber.
Although deep cleaning can be bit of a task (it won’t fit in my washing machine), spot cleaning has been pretty easy for me, especially for those tiny ‘Bruno drooling incidents’. 😉 If deep cleaning is concerning for any of you, another alternative could be “Cozy Cave Dog Bed”. Just as comfy but machine washable too. Your floofs will love it!
Does anyone else here have experience with both beds? Would love to know if my Cozy Cave suggestion makes sense or not.
