In my experience, Royal Canin has been quite a hit with my own dogs. The kibble is good-sized for both my Lab and smaller Cockapoo, it’s easy on their tummies, and they seem to enjoy the taste as well. However – and here’s the big However – it can be kinda pricy for some dog owners.

On to my personal story, I started off feeding my dogs with Royal Canin but swiftly shifted to Purina Pro Plan due to its affordability while still providing quality nutrition. My dogs transitioned pretty seamlessly, and in terms of vitality and coat health, I’ve not seen any real regression.

Advice? If you’re considering switching brands, perhaps due to cost or another factor, do it gradually over one or two weeks. Suddenly changing your pup’s diet may upset their stomach.

Anybody else had made a similar switch? How did it go?

I absolutely agree that Royal Canin dry food seems top-notch. I’ve had my German Shepherd on it for a few years now, and she loves meal times more than ever. The kibble size is indeed perfect, it’s easy for her to pick up and crunch down. When we switched from another brand, I noticed the change in her coat seemingly overnight – much shinier and smoother. Just a tip though: introducing any new food should be done gradually to prevent upset stomachs, so I suggest replacing a portion of your dog’s regular food with Royal Canin over a week or so. With such obvious improvement in my dog’s overall appearance and energy levels (without any stomach problems), it seems worth every penny! But remember, when switching dog food brands, your pup may react differently, so it’s always worth consulting your vet if you have any concerns.

I’ve also found Royal Canin dry food to be worth the price point! My old Beagle, Max, was always picky about kibble size but took to this one wonderfully. The high-quality product seemed to enhance his overall liveliness which makes me joyful as an owner. Does anyone know if they make breed-specific variations? Max has a few quirks that are stereotypical of Beagles and I’m curious if a specific formula could fit him even better. Always suggest consulting your vet first though before switching up their diet too drastically!

Totally echo your points about Royal Canin dry food. We’ve had our little Shih Tzu, Daisy, on it for over six months and her coat has never looked better. Surprisingly, she also loves the kibble size which is suitable even for her small breed. I guess you may balk at the price initially but honestly, the quality and results make it worth every penny. Actually, Daisy was quite picky with other brands but took to Royal Canin effortlessly. For anyone transitioning their dog to a new food, I’d say give Royal Canin a shot – you might be pleasently surprised as we were! Remember though if dietary changes cause any apparent health issues, it’s always best to consult your vet.

I’ve also fed Royal Canin to my pups for years and completely agree with the overall positive comments here. My Australian Shepherd, Boomer, really thrived on it – his coat was always shiny and he seemed full of energy. However, after discussing it with our vet due to budget constraints, we switched him to Hills Science Diet and honestly haven’t noticed any substantial differences. Hills is a lot more friendly on the wallet, but still offers that high-quality nutrition that dogs need. Has anyone else made a switch like this? Would love to hear your experiences too!

Completely hear you folks on the Royal Canin dry food! I can vouch that my hefty German Shepard, Rex, loves it. But, as an alternative, recently I’ve switched him to “Blue Buffalo Wilderness” brand. Partially because Rex seemed a bit – less than thrilled with his food and also for budget constraints. One thing I noticed is Blue Buffalo has similar nutritional spectrum but with a much higher protein content. Not suggesting that it’s better though, I guess it depends on your pupper’s needs and preferences. Also, remember to transition your dog gently if you’re changing their food brand – mix the new one in over a week or so. What other alternatives have you guys tried?

Jumping in on this Royal Canin chat. My trusty Bulldog, Brutus, has been on this diet for few years now. He’s a big boy with a huge appetite and he’s always eager for meal times when we’re serving up Royal Canin. One thing I found helpful was to follow their size-specific formulas; Brutus transitioned really smoothly from the ‘Puppy’ to ‘Adult’ variant as he grew, which was a win as far as I’m concerned.

Price-wise it might come off a bit hefty compared to other brands, but think you get what you pay for, quality wise. And it doesn’t hurt that Brutus seems to love the taste too!

I’d encourage any dog owner thinking about switching or adopting this brand to maybe give it a try but of course, consulting your vet before making any diet changes would be prudent. How have other fur-friends reacted to switching over? Would be interesting to see if they’re as satisfied as Brutus is!

Oh, sing it to the choir, folks! Rex and Brutus sure have fine palettes. So, here’s the deal with my Golden Retriever, Honey. Been on Royal Canin for over 3 years and I swear by it too. Let me tell ya, initially I was a bit wary about the price point cause let’s face it, this isn’t exactly a bargain brand. But you know what they say – quality comes at a cost.

The kibble size is just right for her (she had trouble handling larger pellets from other brands before), and the bag’s durable enough to keep those pesky pantry moths at bay. Little tip – keep an eye out for sales or discounts online, really takes some of the sting off the price tag. Anyone else finds interesting deals on Royal Canin?

Just hopping on the Royal Canin train here. My loveable Lab, Oscar, has been enjoying this brand’s dry kibble for a while now. Originally, he was more of a picky eater with an adventurous palate (or so I thought), preferring a variety of natural raw foods over commercial brands. But, then we tried out the Royal Canin adult blend and he loved it! The kibble size works great for him, being neither too small nor too large. Plus, no durability issues with the bag either – the zip seal keeps everything fresh.

As for price, sure, it’s a bit on the higher side compared to some other names out there. But considering that every bag lasts quite long for us coupled with the visible improvement in our dog’s shiny coat and active behavior – feels like money well spent to me.

Summing up my experience: convenient, reliable and apparently tasty (at least according to Oscar)! One thing I would mention though is not to shift your dog’s diet all at once from his current food to any new food including Royal Canin. Just introduce it gradually so thier tummy can adjust. 👍

Anyone else had similar experiences switching their pup onto Royal Canin? Or maybe alternative food suggestions for naturally inclined dogs?

Jumping into the mix with my experience. I’ve been feeding my Golden Retriever, Bella, Royal Canin for about 3 years now. She’s a bit of a picky eater, but took to this food immediately- truly devoured it! Size-wise, the kibbles are perfectly tailored for her jaws and she had no trouble chewing. One downside, though certainly worth the trade off for quality nutrition, is the price point- it’s a bit pricier than other brands on the market. But seeing Bella energetic and happy is well worth it for us. Has anyone else noticed increased energy in their pooch after switching to Royal Canin?

fellow dog whisperers! Tommy, my massive Great Dane, has been on Royal Canin kibble for nearly three years now and there hasn’t been a day he’s turned his nose up at it. But I noticed with the large breed formula, it is a bit pricey compared to other foods. That said, you’re paying for quality ingredients that meet precise nutritional needs. Has anyone else felt the drain on their wallet but thinks it’s pretty worth it considering our fur babies’ happiness?

Adding my two cents to the Royal Canin discussion. I’ve got a petite Miniature Schnauzer, Lulu, who’s quite the fussy eater. I had previously struggled with finding a brand that she would consistently eat until trying Royal Canin’s breed-specific formula for Miniature Schnauzers.

She’s been gobbling it up without any issues and even looks more eager at meal times compared to before. Indeed, its kibble size is perfect for her small muzzle and seems quite digestible. The price can feel a bit steep, but given how well Lulu has taken to it, I consider it worth every penny.

Was anyone else’s pet picky eaters before making the switch to Royal Canin? And did you find the breed-specific formulas helping increase their appetite?

Reviewing After Years of Royal Canin
Body: Totally agree with all the positive vibes about Royal Canin. I’ve had my Labrador, Max, on it for over a decade now, and he’s never shown any signs of being bored or uninterested in his food. Max is a pretty large lad, and so he appreciates the larger-sized kibble of the Maxi Adult range; plus, it helps keep his gnashers nice and clean! While some might argue that it’s on the pricier side, I believe you’re truly paying for top-tier quality. It’s worth mentioning that each breed’s nutritional needs can be quite different; have you guys noticed any particular varieties your dogs prefer within the Royal Canin range?

Subject: A Tail-Wagging Endorsement for Royal Canin!

Just wanted to hop on the Royal Canin Dry Dog Food train and share my positive experience too! My towering German Shepherd, Harvey, has ben loving this brand for nearly two years now. Not only does he gobble it up in no time flat, but the size of the kibble is also just right for him. As it’s on the bigger end of the scale, he’s less prone to wolfing down his food too fast (an old habit we’re still trying to break).

This kibble certainly isn’t the cheapest option out there, but honestly, seeing how well Harvey thrives on it makes it worth every penny! And just a tip for other large-dog owners – buying in bulk can save you a few bucks in the long run.

Has anyone tried mixing in any other flavors or brands with Royal Canin? Harvey seems game to change things up a bit! As always though, consult your vet before making any major changes to your furry pals’ diet!

Royal Canin Kibble Size – A Fair Consideration?

Body: Absolutely! I too find Royal Canin to be a top draw for my dachshund, Bella. She’s been on Royal Canin for over 4 years and the transformation in her coat’s sheen is truly remarkable. One important point I’d like to raise though, isn’t the kibble size a bit too large for smaller breeds? Even though Bella loves the flavor, she does struggle sometimes with the bigger pieces. Something that’s been playing on my mind lately… has anyone else noticed this or is it just us? I’m considering consulting our vet to see if there’s an appropriate product within Royal Canin for smaller dogs like Bella.
