MemberI mean Rex’s fur seemed fluffed up alright and he did enjoy the bed, but are these bells and whistles worth the price tag? Not saying they’re bad or anything, just got me thinking. What about something simple yet durable like the Furhaven Pet dog bed? Cut down the cost and still keeps the doggo comfy. Anyone else agree?

MemberIf Rex is enjoying his new Pelsbarn, then I’d say you’ve made a good choice. But remember, each dog has its own unique preferences. It’s usually a trial and error thing until you figure out what works best for your buddy.
Just between us, Rusty destroyed at least 3 fancy beds before we found the right fit with Pelsbarn. Have any of you guys had similar experiences?

MemberHas anyone else found their dogs like different textures to the denser Pelsbarn material?

Memberjsut weighed in on the Pelsbarn bed topic. I’ve actually got two of these beds for my terriers annd they’re pretty good on the whole. The pups seem to like them and the materials are high quality. But boy, if you’re buying Pelsbarn, be ready for a wrestle when it comes to cleaning time! It’s kinda like trying to stuff an elephant into a Fiat 500 – not easy at all 🐘🚗😄.
I personally would recommend giving ‘Ruff and Tumble’ orthopedic beds a look. They tick all the boxes: comfortable, durable and (the golden ticket) MACHINE WASHABLE! Trust me, your future self will thank you when you’re not spending hours battling with a stubborn cushion cover!
Checking out other brands could be worth your while. Has anyone else here had experience with Ruff and Tumble? Or perhaps another easy-to-clean brand I haven’t stumbled upon yet?

MemberJust outta curiosity though, has anyone tried putting it in the washing machine? The tag say it’s machine washable, but with previous beds I’ve had issues where the stuffing gets all lumpy post-wash. Would love to hear others’ experiences on this. Cheers!

MemberJust came across the washing machine question about Pelsbarn Dog Bed. I’ve been in that exact spot annd let me tell you, don’t do it! I tried once and it came out all lumpy. Took me ages and a whole lot of patience to get it back into shape.
Better off just spot washing it tbh. If the dirt’s real bad, flip it inside out and give it a good scrub. Works wonders for my Macey’s bed.
Has anyonr else had a similar experience? Would love to hear your tibits on this. Cheers!

MemberJust don’t be tempted to bung it in the dryer – learned that the hard way. It seems to shrink in high heat. Best to air dry it instead.
Quick question tho’… anyone had any joy getting those tougher stains out? Seems my pup’s got some stubborn mud on his. Agreed with earlier post tho’, overall this bed’s been great.

MemberIt’s a great bed overall though – easy to clean (well, as long as you remember the dryer bit). The cushioning is nice, but it took my fluffmonster a while to stop trying to de-stuff it.
Just on the shrinking issue – anyone tried air drying it laid flat? I wonder if that reduces shrinkage any.
