I’ve been using Black Gold dog food for about a year now for my Lab, Bruno. I’ve honestly seen a tremendous difference in his energy levels and the shine of his coat–trust me, it’s like night and day! Before Black Gold, we struggled with other brands where he would just pick at his meal and wasn’t that thrilled. But now, boy oh boy, meal times are a feast! And no signs of any tummy troubles or allergies either.
The good thing is they offer a bunch of different recipes, so you can easily find the one that matches your pooch’s dietary needs. We’re on the salmon grain-free option ‘coz Bruno has always been sensitive to grains.
But hey, every dog is unique, right? So what works for Bruno might not work for all fur babies. It’s worth trying out at least. And plus, the price point isn’t bad considering the quality you’re getting.
All I’d say is give it a shot and see how your furry friend responds. Hope this helps!
Yep, I’ve been using Black Gold for my two labs for a good few months now and lemme tell ya, it’s a godsend. Their coats have never looked better! And talk about energy – they’re practically bouncing off the walls during our daily walks (in a good way, haha).
Plus, it’s always a great sign when they wag their tails off every time I fill up their bowls. They juts can’t get enough of this stuff! And honestly, I’m all for it. Compared to other dog foods out there which are overloaded with fillers or ones that you need to take out a loan just to afford, Black Gold hits the sweet spot between quality and price.
The only downside? It’s not always easy to find in local supermarkets around my area. But hey, that’s what online shopping is for, right?
Would definitely recommend giving it a shot if you’re on the hunt for wholesome food for your furry friends. Your pups are gonna love you even more—I promise!

One thing I love is that we finally managed to settle his sensitive tummy problems, so big win there! Another major plus, his coat has never looked better, super shiny and healthy! Every time at the dog park, people ask me what I feed him.
The only downfall I see is availability. It’s not easily found at my local pet stores so have to make an online purchase every time. That said, it doesn’t really bug me too much as long as Max is happy and healthy. On a scale of 1 to 5, definitely a solid 4 for us!
Has anyone else had similar experiences or any different opinions? Would love to hear your thoughts!
I was initially concerned about whether he’d get enough nutrients because it’s grain free but my vet assured me that it’s a well-balanced diet when combined with a few treats and regular exercise. The high protein content from real chicken has also helped him maintain healthy muscle mass, which is often a concern for large breeds like Rotties.
Only downside – this stuff ain’t cheap. But I figure good health is worth investing in. Just throwing this out there in case cost is something you’re considering. Overall though, Black Gold gets two paws up from Bear and me! 🐾🐾

One downside though, it’s a bit pricier than other brands we’ve tried before. But hey, man’s best friend deserves the best right? Just make sure to transition your dog to new food gradually for a gentle switch over. If anyone else has experience with Black Gold, would love to hear your thoughts too!
