Absolutely agree with you on the benefits of Greenies – they are a favorite in our household as well. Our spaniel, Cooper, loves the size and texture; easy for him to chew but not so soft that it’s gone in an instant. As for durability, we found that they last considerably longer than other chews we’ve tried. However, I always have to keep a close eye on him when he’s chewing them due to risk of swallowing large pieces.
While I find Greenies are a bit pricey, I’m certainly willing to pay for quality. It’s more of a treat for Cooper than an everyday chew.
But speaking of alternatives – anyone tried those N-Bone Dental chews? Made with organic materials and its price is slightly friendlier on the wallet. Wondering if they might be a good fit for smaller dogs or maybe as a supplement to the Greenies… Any thoughts?
Absolutely a fan of Greenies over here as well – they’re especially great for my Shepherd mix. The regular size Greenies work wonders for his dental health while keeping him entertained.
If your dog is anything between medium and large, I’d recommend going for the regular or even the large size because they really gnaw at them, helping clean their teeth more effectively. I’ve found the durability to be impressive – it takes our guy quite some time to finish one, giving him plenty of enjoyment for his ‘treat’ time!
In terms of pricing, they may be a bit pricier than some other treats out there, but for us, it’s justified considering everything else (benefits, enjoyment). Plus I often find coupons or deals at PetSmart.
That being said, always remember to accompany these treats with a balanced diet and regular vet check-ups (especially if you notice redness or swelling in the gums after using Greenies), as it won’t solve all dental concerns on its own.

Couldn’t agree more about Greenies! They’ve become the go-to in our house for a quick snack or reinforcement during training, with my Boxer mix absolutely in love with them. The price might appear a tad steep at first glance, but considering their size and quality, I’d say it’s completely worth it.
One thing I’ve noticed is they can be pretty tough for smaller dogs due to their size and hardness. If you have smaller breeds, I suggest you try out the petite size Greenies. That’s what I started doing for my little Dachshund, and she loves em’ jsut as much – no issues with chewing or now!
As always tho, do remember to supervise your furry buddies while they’re chewing away because small fragments could still potentially cause blockages. And of course, if you notice any digestive problems after starting them on these treats, don’t hesitate to consult your vet. Have fun treating!
Oh, Greenies, the green gold of dog treats, right? Don’t get me wrong, my Boxer loves them – but I gotta say, they aren’t the most budget-friendly option out there. I actually switched to Zuke’s Natural Training Dog Treats about a year ago. They’re smaller, so they last longer and they’re easier on my pocketbook! Plus, Sheldon (my boxer) seems to be none the wiser – he gobbles them up just as eagerly. Any of ya’ll tried Zuke’s? Might be a worthy alternative for those of us balancing wallets and wagging tails!

It’s truly great to see all the Greenies love here! I tried those with my Poodle, Ginger, a while back but found them a tad bit expensive in the long run. Switched to natural bully sticks instead – they are equally loved by Gingy, last longer and are more cost-effective! Just wanted to chime in on the Greenies conversation. I’ve been feeding my Boxer, Bruno, these treats for a few years now and he absolutely loves them. When choosing the size, I prefer going a size up than recommended becuase it takes him a bit longer to chew and this keeps him engaged. However, do keep an ey eon your pup while they’re enjoying their treat, as with any chewable items to avoid any potential choking hazards.
Just a little tip I picked up over time- incorporating the treats into playtime or training can make it a rewarding experience for both, the owner and the dog. For instance, Bruno does a trick or obeys a command, he gets a Greenie as reward!
About price, they are on the higher end compared to others but considering the quality and Bruno’s evident love for them, it’s totally worth it for me! Yet each dog is unique and if you have any doubts regarding food allergies or digestive issues its always best to consult your vet first. I’ve been a dog owner for almost two decades now and I too have tried Greenies with my smart Border Collie, Scout. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great treats and Scout usually enjoys them. I would like to point out though that they can be a bit expensive and the size of the treat doesn’t last for a substantially long time. In my personal experience, I found Bully Sticks as a cost-effective but also enjoyable alternative for Scout. folks, just stumbled upon this thread and it’s hard to ignore the love for Greenies here. I’ve had my Pitbull Terrier, Rapunzel, on these delightful chewables since she was a pup. I gotta say I’m a convert to the Greenies Fan Club, too! My cocker spaniel, Buddy, can’t resist them and his teeth have never looked cleaner (though we still get regular checks with the vet, jsut to be sure!) The only thing is I’ve found the sizing a bit off for Buddy; he’s 30 pounds but the “Large” size seemed a bit much for him, so we stick to regular. That being said, it does means he chews on it longer which could be even better for his teeth. Honestly at first I was slightly taken aback by the price but I suupose you get what you pay for – great quality and one happy pooch! Anyone else found the sizes not accurate?
