ParticipantYesterday, I decided to give the Old Mother Hubbard dog treats a shot for my pooch. To be completely honest, they aren’t exactly the most economical option out there and I was quite disappointed with the size of the biscuits. They’re much smaller than what I imagined and not particularly durable. Anyone else find these treats breaking into pieces too easily? Just wondering if I should give them another try or perhaps switch to a different brand. Any suggestions for bigger and sturdier dog treats?

ParticipantI’ve given my golden retriever, Max, Old Mother Hubbard treats and he really seemed to like them. They have a nice crunch, which he seems to enjoy more than softer treats. What concerns me, though is the size. I feel they’re quite small for larger breeds and I’m always concerned about choking hazards, especially at treat-time when Max couldn’t be more excited!
In terms of price, they’re not bad, but there are similar options out there that offer bigger-sized treats with the same wholesome ingredients, like Blue Buffalo’s Health Bars. My Max loves their pumpkin and cinnamon variety – it smells good enough for me to eat! Anyone else notice smaller treat sizes becoming common?
And as always, watch you dog as they snack. Better safe than sorry!

ParticipantOh, I’ve tried these Old Mother Hubbard treats for my Maltipoo, Daisy. She seems really to enjoy them as well. Smaller in size than some other treats we’ve tried, they’re perfect for her petite mouth, and they seem relatively hardy considering they don’t break down into crumbs easily. As for the price point, they are a bit more on the expensive side compared to others on the market. However, if your dog enjoys them as much as Daisy does mine, it’s might just be worth the extra cost! Alternatively, has anyone tried Zuke’s Mini Naturals? They’re also small-shaped treats, and Daisy seems to like those just as much!

ParticipantJust wanted to share my two cents on the Old Mother Hubbard dog treats. I’ve been using them for my German Shepherd, Bella, for about a year now. The size is just right for her, and I’d say they’re reasonably priced when you look at the quality.
However, these treats can be a bit tough in terms of hardness. In fact, I remember Bella had some difficulty chewing on one when I first introduced it to her. So, if your dog prefers softer snacks, they might take a while to adjust to these.
That being said, Bella absolutely loves the flavor! And they’ve been excellent as training treats. But remember, always observe how your dog responds to new treats and food items – if there are any issues or changes in behavior, it’s best to consult with your vet. Any other folks have experience with thier pups adjusting to the hardness of these treats?

ParticipantRelating to the Old Mother Hubbard dog treats, I’ve got two pooches at home, a spry Boxer annd a laid-back Corgi. Both couldn’t be more different in their preferences, but these treats seem to hit the spot for both! In terms of size, they’re perfect for training rewards or just an occasional treat – not too big and not too small. And while they may seem a bit pricier than some other options out there it’s worth it for the natural ingredients they use. Now, durability-wise, I’ve always found that they don’t crumble or turn into nasty mush if kept properly.
In my own experience, I’d suggest introducing them gradually into your dog’s diet as you would with any new food. But yeah, if your furry friend is anything like my two knuckleheads they’ll be dancing around with anticipation each time they hear the treat jar open! Quick question tho: Has anyone tried using these in puzzle toys? Wondering how well they fit!

ParticipantSpeaking from my personal experience with a hyper Beagle and a sometimes too stoic German Shepherd, I’d say Old Mother Hubbard treats have been quite satisfactory! Love the size and texture; they’re easy for both of my pups to chew, and I can stuff them into some of their puzzle toys. The only drawback is that they may be a bit pricey for some – gotta watch out for those deals online. But overall, given their quality and how much my dogs love them, good value for money indeed. It’s always a riot seeing my usually calm Shepherd getting super excited about these treats! Remember though, no treat should replace balanced meals! If your dog suddenly shows changes in appetite or behaviour after any new food introduction consult your vet.

ParticipantWell, I gotta say, my two fur-besties, Benny the Bull Terrier and Princess the Pomeranian love them some Old Mother Hubbard dog treats. Operative word here would be ‘treat.’ They are not substitutes for meals or don’t meet all nutritional needs but work great as rewards during training. My Benny can do a backflip now just for a mere hint of one! What’s more? They come in different sizes fitting to your pooch’s size. As for the price point, it’s quite reasonable considering the quality of the treats. However, remember to check with a vet for any dietary concerns your doggie might have before introducing new stuff to their diet!

ParticipantAs a proud owner of two bouncy Labradors, I can vouch for the Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats as being a solid hit in my household. These treates are decently sized, and I particularly appreciate how firm they are – it definitely keeps my boys engaged for a while. My only hitch lies with the price point; they’re a tad on the expensive side. But bothe me Lab boys love ’em so much, it makes me overlook that con most times. Just yesterday, I watched Benson perform his rollover trick five times in succession just because I held out one of these treats! As always though, remember to make any dietary changes gradually to avoid upsetting your doggo’s stomach.

ParticipantCouldn’t agree more with all your reviews about Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats! I’ve got a pair of adventurous Boxers who could sniff out a treat hidden in any nook or cranny around the house. These biscuit treats have not only perfect sizing for quick rewards, but also a great texture that they enjoy chewing. Plus, with their reasonable price point, my wallet isn’t crying every time I decide to treat my pups. jsut remember folks, no matter how good these are rated, remember to balance treats out with meals as per your dog’s dietary needs – and as always, if your pet is showing any adverse reactions, it’s advisable to consult your vet. Anybody else’s dogs masters at finding hidden treats or is it just my boxers?

ParticipantBeen buying Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats for my energetic corgi, Max, for 2 years now and he absolutely devours them. They’re on the smaller side, which is perfect for his dainty mouth. Plus the price isn’t half bad compared to other premium treats out there. Only hiccup was when I accidentally bought the extra crunchy variety (the packaging looks almost the same!) and poor Max had a tough time crunching down. Always double check before you buy! Just out of curiosity – anyone else tried their grain-free version yet? Are they as good as these ones?

ParticipantI’ve also hopped on the Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats train over a year ago for my little Shih Tzu, Bella. She absolutely adores them and it’s a sure-fire way to get her attention during our daily training routines. The treat size is perfect for small breeds like Bella, but I’d be curious to know if anyone with larger dogs finds them too small? On another note, has anybody tried their grain-free version? We are considering it but would love some firsthand reviews!

ParticipantCan’t really argue with the popularity of Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats, but after trying them out for my Great Dane, Samson, they seemed a bit too small in size and lacking in substance. Being a large breed, he needs something with more durability to keep him entertained. In my search for the perfect treat, I’ve found Zuke’s Natural Training Dog Treats to be rather satisfying. They’re bigger and rougher around the edges which seem to be right up Samson’s alley. Of course it’s up to every dog owner to find the best fit for their fur friends. Just thought I’d share an alternative if your pup also leans towards larger, durable treats like mine does! Anybody else got some good big-dog treat suggestions?

ParticipantI totally get why so many are raving about Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats. I gave them a shot with my chocolate lab, Roscoe, a while back and they were fine. However, lately I’ve been experimenting with homemade dog treats instead – something with peanut butter and oatmeal. Health-wise they’re not too different, but making our own has become a bonding experience for Rosco and me and saved me some extra bucks over time. Plus, I have more control over the portion sizes which has really helped in maintaining Roscoe’s weight.
Just sharing another alternative in case anyone else is into DIY doggo-snack experiments too! Has anyone else tried their hands on homemade treats? Did your pooches love ’em or hate ’em?

Participanteveryone, I wanted to weigh in since I’ve been giving Old Mother Hubbard treats to my Golden Retriever for roughly two years now. As a dog owner of 18 years, I found their size perfect, just crucial for training sessions. Not only has my furry friend loved each of their flavors (his favorite is the P-Nuttier by far), but the durability is pretty impressive— they don’t crumble in my pocket when we take our long walks.
If you’re concerned about the price, I’ve noticed that buying in bulk tends to be a bit cheaper and makes it more worth it. Just make sure the bag’s sealed or transferred to an airtight container to maintain freshness.
Every dog is different though — do any of your pups not like these treats?

ParticipantCan’t agree more with the love for Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats here. I’m currently on my third bag for my playful little beagle, Fergus! As a dog owner of 13 years, one thing that stands out for me is their size – they’re perfect for smaller dogs but they also work great as a quick reward during training sessions too. Their price point is decent for the quality you get. Has anyone else noticed how their dogs seem specially attracted to the Classic P-Nuttier flavor?
