Participantthere, my experience with Dingo dog treats has been quite different. I’ve got a middle-sized mongrel named Baxter and he absolutely adores these treats. The size is perfect for him to gnaw on in one go, and they seem pretty hardy too. Honestly, the durability of these treats saved my shoes from his teething phase!
However, my biggest sticking point was the price. Compared to other brands, Dingo does seem a bit steep for daily treating. So I started using them more as a training aid than just a snack — worked like a charm!
Has anyone here tried the Dingo’s mini treats? I’m considering it for smaller pups coming home for pet dates with Baxter.
A friend of mine suggested trying out locally made organic dog treats, might be worth exploring if cost is your concern too! Just remember to introduce new treats gradually into their diet, you don’t want any upset tummies on your hands (or carpets!).

ParticipantWell, strap in folks, because my experience with these Dingo treats sure has been… interesting. Got ’em on a bit of a whim for my three-year-old pug – she’s pretty fussy about her snacks but hey, the price was right so why not, right? Never seen her go to town on a treat like she did with these! Not just tasty apparently; they’ve proven to be quite durable too considering my pup’s tenacity.
On the flip side though, I’ve found them rather messy. Crumbs galore every time she chomps down, and let me tell you it’s no fun cleaning these up from the rug. So uh… maybe only give ém to your furry friend on hard flooring or outdoors. Anyone else found this to be the case, or is my lovely little shredding machine just an outlier here? Always possible I suppose.

Participantthere, interesting take you’ve got here on the Dingo dog treats. I’ve been using them for my large retriever mix for about a year now, and she goes crazy for them. What I particularly appreciate is their pricing and the fact that they last longer compared to other treats we’ve tried, meaning we get decent bang for our buck.
That said, have you noticed any changes in your dog’s behavior with these treats? Just curious because my Mandy seems to be more motivated during training sesh when we use these as rewards. Couldn’t help but wonder if anyone else noticed this with their furbabies too. Regardless, in case of any adverse effects or behavioral issues, it’s always wise to consult a vet.

ParticipantWow, your experiences with Dingo dog treats are definitely colorful! I’ve been using them for my little terrier mix for about a year now, and we have a bit of a ritual around them. You see, instead of using the whole treats as rewards, I break them into smaller pieces. Little Zippy seems to love them more this way, and it also makes the bags last longer – a win-win! As for durability, they don’t crumble easily which I find great since we often bring some along on walks. But their noticeable hardness keeps me wary about potential tooth problems though – thankfully, Zippy’s vet confirmed he’s alright for now. Have any of you tried cutting up your Dingo treats before serving? Or considered other alternatives just to be on the safer side?

Participantrealy interesting to hear all your differing experiences with Dingo dog treats! I’ve been using them for my sprightly Border Collie, annd personally find them a bit on the large side. She struggles a little to chew them up, so I usually break them into smaller pieces for her. Can’t deny they’re durable though – lost one under the couch once and found it months later still in mint condition! 😆 As an alternate suggestion, have any of you tried Bob’s Biscuits? Similar price point, but they come in various sizes that might be easier for some of our petite pals to manage.

ParticipantIt sounds like a mixed bag with these Dingo dog treats. It’s funny, I have a German Shepherd who goes bonkers for them – won’t touch any other kind of treat, in fact. Any owners of larger breeds notice if size figures into their pup’s enjoyment?
On the durability front, my boy has pretty strong jaws and these treats last him a good while. I see some of you have had different experiences, though. I wonder if it could come down to individual difference like bite strength or chewing habits?
Price-wise, I think they’re well worth it since they seem to be made from high quality materials and I’ve never seen any sign of deterioration, unlike some cheaper brands.
Still, as always, it’s best to continually observe your dog’s behavior and responses. If there are any peculiar reactions or changes in eating patterns after introducing a new treat or changing their diet, consult your vet is a good call. Might some of you consider switching back to old treats if their response to Dingos isn’t all positive? Just curious!

ParticipantIt’s certainly interesting to see how varied our experiences are with Dingo treats! For my Pitbull mix, I found the size of the treats a bit too small. He’s a power chewer, and as much as he loved the taste, he would crunch these up in no time at all. That meant more frequent treat deliveries, which isn’t great for his waistline or my wallet!
So we switched to Kong Extreme Dog Toys stuffed with a bit of peanut butter. The toys are super durable against my dog’s strong jaw and keep him occupied much longer than the Dingo treats used to. Plus, it’s easy on the pocket since I just need to refill them with peanut butter and not repurchase constantly. But how do your dogs react to food-stuffed toys? Maybe it could be an alternative worth trying!03/13/2025 at 1:25 PM #6978FluffyPoodle7624
ParticipantReally fascinating how different our dogs’ response to the Dingo treats. Sounds like they’re quite hit or miss! My rescue, Freckles (he’s a mix, we think part retriever), was also initially unsure about them due to their size, just like your German Shepherd. We found breaking them into smaller pieces eased his hesitation. As for pricing and durability, I can agree there – these treats definitely take a while for Freckles to chew through and don’t leave as big a hole in my wallet compared to some other brands. Anyone else have strategies for intro steps with these bigger treats?

ParticipantI’ve got a lab-terrier mix who turns her nose up at anything that isn’t categorically gourmet. Threw a Dingo treat her way one time annd she stared at it like I’d given her a piece of plastic to chew on. Not even the smell could win her over. No success in my house, but they do say every dog is different. Anyone got tips for getting picky eaters more interested in these treats? Maybe I introduced them wrong, or is the size maybe a bit off-putting for smaller breeds?

ParticipantIt’s definitely intriguing to see how our canine family responds to food differently, isn’t it? My American Bulldog is quite similar to your lab-terrier mix. At first, he would bury the Dingo treats in the yard, and I thought he didn’t like them. Then one day, I noticed him digging one up and wolfing it down— turns out he was saving them for later! A bit expensive for him to be storing outside though. lol
I found another great alternative that has received rave reviews from my fur buddy: Bixbi Organic Pet Jerky. It’s priced slightly lower than Dingo treats and they use organic ingredients, so it feels good knowing we’re giving our pets something healthy. Anyone here tried those before? Curious if our doggos have a collective love for them too!

ParticipantThought I’d add my two cents into this Dingo treats discussion. My stubborn ol’ bulldog, Bruno, is notoriously picky with his food. To my surprise, he really seemed to enjoy these Dingo treats. They’re roughly the right size for him and the price point is great considering their quality. The durability of them is also a plus, as they keep Bruno busy for a while.
For those struggling to get their dogs to try ’em, I found mixing it in with their regular meals worked a treat. Just a tip you might wanna give it a shot! And of course if there are any unusual reactions, best to consult your vet. Any other owners have tricks to introduce new treats?

ParticipantWow, Dingo Dog Treats. Now there’s a brand that could woo a star-nosed mole as well as Bruno the bulldog, it seems. I’ve been feeding these treats to my drama queen Beagle (yes, you read that right), and even with her are-you-kidding-me look every time I try something new, she still fell for the Dingos. They’re pretty decent size-wise, though not exactly pocket-friendly if you’re out for a walk. As for durability? Let’s just say they keep my furry diva busy for a cool 30 minutes – enough time to enjoy a hot cup of coffee in peace! Just be warned, once your fur baby smells ’em… there’s no going back. They may require an extra long walk later though, just to burn off those treat-tastic calories!

ParticipantMy Tiny Terrier’s Take on Dingo Dog Treats
I got into this Dingo Dog Treat hype for my little Yorkie, Oscar. Despite their larger size (which can be a tad overwhelming for tiny jaws), I cut them into smaller pieces and presto, Oscar is head over heels! Gotta say, the price felt a bit steep at first, but seeing Oscar’s enthusiasm changed my mind – definitelly worth every penny. Just be aware of the size before purchasing though, especially if your furry friend is on the smaller side like mine. All in all, these treats seem to be quite durable and not so quickly devoured as others we’ve tried. Anyone else with small dogs who’ve figured out any tricks to make the treats more manageable?

ParticipantQuestion: “Has anyone else noticed that Dingo treats are a tad large for their small breed dogs?”
Story: I have a sweet Chihuahua named Bella. She absolutely adores the Dingo treats, but I find the portions to be slightly overwhelming for her size. I’ve been breaking them into smaller pieces which Bella seems more comfortable with.
Advice: So for those whose fur-friends are on the smaller side, it might be worth breaking down these treats into manageable bites.
Has anyone else in this forum done something similar or do you have any other tricks for treating your smaller pups?

ParticipantAbsolutely agree about the size of those Dingo treats. I even thought they were a bit chunky for my Lab mix, Rufus. He’s no small breed dog, but the first time he tried to chew on one, it was a bit of an ordeal – took him longer than usual to get through. Can’t imagine how it would go down with the tiniest terriers or delicate Yorkies.
On the plus side, Rufus loves them. They keep him occupied for awhile, which is great when we’re trying to get stuff done around the house or when guests are over and we want him a little distracted.
So here’s a tip for anyone else discovering these are rather robust for their pooches: try cutting them into smaller pieces before giving them to your dog. Keeps the same treat excitement, just at a more manageble size.
Still wondering if anyone has any recommended alternatives that don’t require manual resizing? -
