ParticipantDefinitely, my experience with Trader Joe’s dog treats has been positive overall. I’ve been using them for training my golden retriever, Muffin, and she seems to love the flavor! Plus, they’re not incredibly hard so she can crunch on them easily. It sits well with her stomach too but to be on the safer side, I always consult my vet before introducing any new treats.
Price-wise they’re more affordable than other brands I’ve come across at the pet store. Just make sure you get the right size for your pup – Muffin is large, so the bigger treats work great for us. For smaller dogs, you might want to consider breaking them into pieces or look for smaller size treats.
Anyone else introduced these treats slowly into their dog’s diet? How did it go?

ParticipantIn my 6 years of having dogs, I’ve tried quite a few treats and I can say without a doubt that Trader Joe’s treats are definitely up to snuff. They’re conveniently sized – not too small that they don’t serve the purpose of a treat, but not so big that you have to break them apart. The price is incredibly fair for the quality and how long the bag lasts.
Just last week, my Golden Retriever, Buddy, was in doggie heaven munching on them during our training sessions. Buddy’s not necessarily picky about his treats but he seems to really enjoy these ones!
My minor gripe is the packaging — it isn’t resealable. So I’d suggest transferring treats to an air-tight container after opening to maintain their crispiness.
Has anyone else noticed a difference in their dog’s obedience training when using Trader Joe’s treats? Curious to hear more thoughts!

ParticipantIn line with the majority here, I’ve only had good experiences with Trader Joe’s dog treats too. For about 3 years now, they’ve been my go-to for both of my Labradoodles. Here’s why – these treats are just the perfect size, especially for training purposes. My dogs love their taste and actually listen to commands better when they know there’s a Trader Joe’s treat at stake!
One really cute thing I noticed was that Timmy (the younger one) actually started associating the crinkle of the treat bag with doing tricks. Every time I reached into my kitchen cabinet he’d start sitting, lying down or rolling over! The instinctive reaction is adorable and also makes training sessions much easier.
Their prices are quite reasonable compared to other popular brands too. All in all, I highly recommend them for flavor and convenience… BUT remember that no matter how good these treats seem, do keep an eye on your dog’s overall diet and health – not everything works for every pup! If you have concerns about allergies or weight issues, it wouldn’t hurt to consult with a vet before making any changes to their routine. Though, really wish they’d come in bigger packs… anyone else feel me on this?

ParticipantAbsolutely, I’ve been using Trader Joe’s dog treats for quite a while now and my furry companions seem to love them. Especially the Peanut Butter treats, they just go head over heels for them! The size is perfect for training purposes as they’re not too big, yet satisfying enough for my pooches. Plus, the price is quite reasonable compared to other boutique brands. However, always remember every dog has different taste preferences and dietary needs. So, it might be worth buying a small pack first to see if your furball enjoys them. If in doubt about new food items for your pet, definitely check with your vet. Has anyone else had their dogs try the PB ones?

ParticipantI’ve been giving Trader Joe’s dog treats to my two Labradors for nearly a year now, and they absolutely love them! The size of the treats is perfect for both my big boy and his smaller sister; I especially appreciate that they don’t crumble to bits like some other brands I’ve tried.
As far as price goes, they’re a fantastic deal compared to other more expensive premium dog treat options on the market. The one time we ran out – cue horrified gasps – I made the mistake of buying an alternative brand. Let me tell you, both pups gave me that disappointed-doggy-look all pet owners dread!
One thing worth mentioning though, if your pooch has a sensitive stomach you may want to introduce the treats gradually just to be sure it agrees with them. And if you notice anything unusual health wise, it’s always a good practice to check in with your vet right away.
But overall, big thumbs up for Trader Joe’s from me (and eager paw shakes from my Labs!). Anyone else had any experiences with changing brands causing their dogs to turn into mini drama queens/kings?

ParticipantAbsolutely agreed with the majority here. I’ve been indulging my Golden Retriever, Bella, with Trader Joe’s dog treats for quite a while now and she can’t seem to get enough of them! What I love about these treats specifically is their perfect bite-size; they’re just big enough for a satisfying crunch but small enough not to spoil her dinner.
And for anyone worrying about value for money? Trust me when i say, they’re very affordable and frequently in stock too – an added bonus if your pooch loves them as much as Bella does. Definitely, they are worth giving a shot.
Has any other owner tried the Peanut Butter flavored ones? Bella is hooked on them but I’m curious how other dogs like the flavor.

ParticipantJust chiming in about Trader Joe’s dog treats here. My Corgi, Dolce, is surprisingly picky when it comes to treats but she absolutely adores the ones from Trader Joe’s. Not only they’re affordable, but they’re also not too big nor too small – just the right size for her. The only downside is they can be a bit crumbly at times and may leave a little mess behind. However, Dolce’s enthusiastic tail wags make it all worth having to vacuum a little more often! I’d say give those treats a shot and see if your pup enjoys them as much as Dolce does. If you’re dealing with a fussy eater like mine, feel free to try out different flavors.

ParticipantI’ve been using Trader Joe’s dog treats for my Boxer, Rocky, for over 6 months and you bet he can’t get enough of them. The size is just right – not too big and not too tiny to be a choking hazard; a point that really mattered to me when picking out a treat for him. As for the price, these treats don’t break the bank which is definitely a plus.
Here’s a cute little tidbit… whenever Rocky hears the crinkle of the package, he leaves whatever he’s doing and dashes straight to me with those expectant eyes! That’s testament enough for me that he loves them. One tip though, always check the ingredient list if your pup has specific dietary needs or allergies. All in all, Rocky and I have had a good experience with Trader Joe’s dog treats so far! So yeah, we’d recommend giving ’em a try. Maybe anyone else here has tried other flavors? I’ve seen there’s quite a range at Trader Joe’s but only stuck to one thus far.

ParticipantI gotta second that my Border Collie, Finn, simply adores the Trader Joe’s dog treats. The biscuits are just the right size for him, not too big and definitely not too small. Not only does he chew them down to satisfying crumbs in seconds but he also appreciates the various flavors they come in. From an owner’s perspective- I appreciate their affordability. My micro-story with these treats: when I first introduced ‘Shake Hand’ command to Finn, it would have been hard without these tasty motivators! If you’ve got a picky eater or a dog that’s a bit stubborn with training, try integrating these into your routine and see if there’s any difference. Remember though, if your fur friend develops any ill effects from new treats, always a good idea to consult your vet asap.
Has anyone tried the Trader Joe’s salmon jerky? I heard they’re great for dogs with grain allergies.

ParticipantI totally understand everyone’s love for Trader Joe’s dog treats, but I have a slightly different experience to share. My Lab, Bella, used to love these treats, especially thier peanut butter flavored variants. However, be aware that they can be a bit large for smaller breeds annd toy dogs. So if you have pups on the smaller end of the scale size wise, you may want to consider breaking them in half or look for smaller sized alternatives. Remember, the treat size should always match your pet’s size. Just my two cents from another experienced dog parent! Anybody else come across this size issue with these treats?

ParticipantI’ve tried Trader Joe’s dog treats for my Goldendoodle, Teddy, and he seems to like them just fine, although I have noticed he needs a few extra chomps to break them down. They’re pretty sturdy snacks which initially caught me off guard as Teddy typically goes for softer treats. Guess it’s good for his dental health as an unplanned perk! Has anyone else noticed that these treats are slightly harder or is it just my batch? For those with smaller breeds, do you find the size manageable or a bit too bulky? As always, if there’s any concern with your furbaby’s ability to chew certain treats safely, consulting with the vet would be wise.
