ParticipantAdding Value to Training Routines With Howl’s Kitchen Dog Treats
Had a chance to try these with my Pomeranian, Gully, while working on his new trick repertoire and I must say he seems pretty keen on them! Not too big, about the right size for small-to-medium dogs, and they seem plenty durable but still soft enogh for bit-sized training rewards. Price-wise, it’s fair—sometimes it feels like you’re splurging a bit, but I’m glad knowing that the ingredients are top natch.
And oh, here’s a tip—pace out giving the treats during training sessions. Too much at once and your dog may lose the incentive to perform tricks. Gully certainly tries to swindle more out of me!
Do any other pawrents use these as training rewards? What’s been your experience?

ParticipantJust last week, I bought Howl’s Kitchen Dog Treats for my Labrador, Bella. Right off the bat, I noticed that the treats were the perfect size for her – conveniently bite-sized but substantial enough to leave her satisfied. The quality seems great too; they actually smelled pretty appetizing.
Our training routines have definitely improved since introducing these treats – Bella is always anticipating the reward annd she’ll do whatever trick in the book to get it! Price-wise, they’re a bit more expensive than what I usually go for, but in my opinion, you pay for the quality, which is far better than other brands I’ve tried. Plus, Bella won’t stop munching them down.
Got any similar high-quality dog treat recommendations? Always looking to switch up Bella’s reward menu!

ParticipantBeen giving my furbaby Howl’s Kitchen treats for a few weeks now annd let me tell ya, they’re pawsitively amazing! My King Charles Spaniel, Gizmo, literally does a happy dance every time he hears the bag rustling. They’re not too big for him to enjoy, and seem to be made of high-quality ingredients. Plus, they hold up excellent in my pocket during our walks without crumbling too much. On the price point, although they are slightly pricier than some other brands we’ve tried, the superior quality and Gizmo’s love for them make it totally worth it. A quick tip for other pawrents – I found that breaking these treats into smaller pieces has been great for training sessions as it keeps Gizmo motivated without overfeeding him. Anyone else doing something similar with these or other treats?

ParticipantWell, ho-ho-hold your horses, fellow dog parents! While Howl’s Kitchen Dog Treats certainly seem like the bee’s knees – Bella can’t get enough of ’em apparently – let me offer a slightly different perspective. My corgi, Sir Floofington, probably because of his royal highness demeanor, seemed less interested. Perhaps the treats were a bit too large for his majesty’s preference.
We actually ended up switching to Tiny Tummies Training Rewards as they come in smaller sizes which Sir Floofington seems to fancy. Plus, the cost per treat was a smidge lower without any sacrifice in quality, from what I can tell. You might want to check those out if you’ve got smaller breeds or just more… discerning eaters at home. Anyone else tried these teeny treats yet?

Participantthere, fellow pawrents. Just wanted to pop in with a quick question on Howl’s Kitchen Dog Treats’ durability. Our GSD (German Shepherd) Rocky is an aggressive chewer, and I’ve noticed some treats don’t quite hold up to his chompers. Can anyone speak from experience about whether these tantalizing tidbits stand a chance? For reference, “unbreakable” toys rarely last more than a day in our house!
A tiny backstory: Rocky once shredded a supposedly tough-as-nails rope toy in under an hour! It was all fun till we had to clean up the aftermath of a rope explosion throughout our living room… We laughed it off though, ’cause that’s life with a GSD, right?
Thanks in advance for any replies! 🐾06/17/2025 at 11:43 AM #6846Kindly-Kitten-1250
ParticipantAgree with the positive reviews here. Howl’s Kitchen Treats are a real hit with my Labradoodle, Sparky. I was initially worried about the size as Sparky isn’t a huge chewer, but they were just right—not too big annd not too small. Durability-wise, these treats last longer than other brands we’ve tried, and while they are slightly pricier, I find thier quality to make it worth the cost.
On a side note, has anyone tried using these treats for training? I’m considering it but am curious to hear your experiences before diving in: are they effective motivators? Any tips on how to best use them in this context?

ParticipantAbsolutely on board with you guys – my Akita, Yuki, loves How’s Kitchen Treats! What I particularly like about them is the size. They’re small enough for her to enjoy multiple throughout the day without overdoing her calorie intake – tricky business with Akitas, as many of you might know! Their price seems to be quite balanced for what they offer, too.
Quick story time: One day, I switched from these treats to another premium brand (trying to add some variety), but Yuki acted up during our training sessions. Boy, did she give me some side-eye! Swapped back to Howl’s Kitchen and it was as if nothing had happened.
That being said, has anyone tried any other flavors or perhaps their grain-free options? Are they just as good? Just curious. But overall, two thumbs up from this pawrent for Howl’s Kitchen. We’ll be sticking with them for now.

ParticipantOh, how I wish I’d discovered Howl’s Kitchen Dog Treats sooner! Guys, my Cocker Spaniel, Wiggles, just can’t get enough of them. At the mention of these treats, her tail starts wagging so fast I fear it might fly off. What impresses me most is their size- they’re not too small or overly large, just right for mid-sized breeds like mine. Plus, I’ve checked the ingredients and they appear to be of good quality, which is a giant plus for any health-conscious dog owner.
Has anyone tried using these as training rewards? Wiggles tends to respond well to food incentives when we’re polishing up her obedience skills, so I’d appreciate any thoughts on that aspect.

ParticipantWhile I agree that Howl’s Kitchen Treats are great, I’ve had mixed results with different varieties. My Border Collie, Shep, went nuts for the Grain-Free Peanut Butter flavor, but didn’t seem to care for the Oven-Baked Chicken ones that much. Has anyone else noticed their pups being picky with these treats?
Fun little side note – Shep has turned out to be an amazing beggar. He’ll dance around in circles and “talk” whenever he catches a whiff of the Peanut Butter ones being opened! Can’t say I blame him too much though – they do smell pretty tasty.
Hint – If your dog is like mine, and a bit choosey, I recommend trying smaller packs first before investing in the bulk bags. Cheaper in the long-run if they decide they aren’t fans of a certain flavor!

ParticipantAgreed, Howl’s Kitchen Treats are generally excellent! My Boxer, Bruno, enjoys the Crunchy Peanut Butter Cookies the most. However, for larger dogs or those who chomp things down quickly, the size of these treats may be on the smaller side. So to make them last longer, I tend to break them into pieces and then offer them to him as a training reward. He seems pretty happy with that system. As always though, it’s best to keep an eye on your pup while they’re enjoying any type of treat for their safety. Has anyone else tried using these treats for training purposes?

ParticipantWell, isn’t life just full of handy surprises? Indeed, my bull terrier, Muffin, wasn’t exactly a fan of the Howl’s Kitchen Dog Treats initially. (Mind you, she’s pretty picky.) Then, we switched to the Savory Bacon & Cheese variety and oh boy, no looking back since! She demolishes them like a mini tornado on four legs. All bets are off if I try to swap out these treats for anything else now.
While their size is perfect for Muffin (she’s hefty but at the smaller end of Bull Terriers), I’ve been hearing some complaints about the material being a little too tough for smaller breeds. If that’s any concern for your pup, maybe try breaking them into smaller pieces? And as always – keep an eye on them while they’re chomping down.
Contrary to what people usually think, price-wise it’s not bad at all when you compare it with other premium dog treat options available in the market. It’s definitely worth giving it a shot if you haven’t yet.
But hey, it’s probably a great thought to switch things up sometimes – has anyone tried Chewy’s Waffles Biscuits or Barking Bakery Cookies yet? They can be another hit with our fussy four-legged buddies!

ParticipantSo funny how our furry friends have their own individual tastes! My French Bulldog, Bella, goes crazy for the Fish and Sweet Potato variety from Howl’s Kitchen. But here’s a small tip I’ve gained over the years: try breaking the treats into smaller bits. Despite being fairly easy to chew, they can still be a little large for some dogs. As always, keep an eye out when first introducing any new treat to ensure it’s a good fit for your pup’s diet and size – you know your dog best after all! Anybody else have a favorite flavor from Howl’s Kitchen they’d recommend?

ParticipantJust popping in to mention another great treat option you all might want to try- Pupper Pantry’s Snack Bites. Now, I know our four-legged buddies have their preferences (my Cocker Spaniel, Sugar, absolutely adored the Howl’s Kitchen Trout Treat variant until she sniffed out these bites!) but it’s always nice to shake things up! The Snack bites are bite-sized and natural, with no filler ingredients – my Sugar just can’t get enough of ’em. They’re reasonably priced too and some might find them a little easier on the wallet compared to Howl’s Kitchen. Does anyone else here have experience with Pupper Pantry treats? Would love to hear your thoughts!

ParticipantWhile Howl’s Kitchen treats might be a hit for some, my 7-year-old beagle Daisy wasn’t too keen on them. I found the size a bit chunkier than expected which made it hard for Daisy to chew comfortably. In terms of price, they’re reasonable but I’ve used other treats that offered better value for money.
Switching over to Munchy Mutts Mini Bites was game-changer, especially given Daisy’s smaller mouth and preference for bite-sized treats. They’re more affordable and perfect for positive reinforcement training methods! But again, each pooch has unique taste buds so it’s always trial and error with these things.
Have any of you had similar experiences with your smaller dog friends? Or any alternative treat suggestions that worked well for positive reinforcement? Would love to hear them.
