ParticipantI’ve been using Zuke’s Dog Treats with my Labradoodle, Bingo, for about 6 months now and honestly, they’re pretty decent. Good size for training, not too crunchy or soft, and they seem to last quite a while. Plus, Bingo really seems to like the chicken flavor! The price point is a bit steep but I think its worth it for the quality of ingredients.
My only issue (and this is more of an observation) is that some of the larger pieces can be hard for smaller breeds or older dogs with dental issues to chew. Always monitor your dog when they’re eating any kind of treat to prevent choking risks!
As an alternative, we sometimes use Blue Buffalo’s mini bars/biscuits. They have similar natural ingredient profiles but the hardness varies so you can find one that fits your pup’s specific needs (we rotate between the two based on what’s on sale).
Anyone else playing around with their training treat sizes or mixes like we are? Curious if this affects training consistency/results in any noticeable way.
Remember, always consult with your vet before making any major diet changes for your dog!

ParticipantWell, isn’t it fascinating to see another Zuke’s enthusiast! I’ve been tossing these tasty tidbits to my rambunctious Rottweiler, Rex, for around 7 months now. I’ll tell ya, the size and texture are just perfect for his giant chompers. They’re not overly hard like some treats can be. As for the price, well let’s just say Rex has expensive tastes (worth every penny mind you!)
Ever have any problems with them being a bit too irresistible though? Last week I left the pantry door a smidgen open and let me just paint a picture – pandemonium ensued. Our previously spotless kitchen was a scene from “101 treats got loose”! So my question is, how do you store your Zukes to keep them safe from persistent, four-legged burglars?!

ParticipantI’ve had a similar experience with Zuke’s dog treats with my terrier mix, Tucker. He’s a smaller breed than your Labradoodle, but he adores the mini-sized bites. The durability is fantastic—unlike some other treats, these don’t crumble or make a mess. I use them for his training sessions and he’s always excited to earn them. One suggestion tho, introduce these gradually if you’re transitioning from another brand. I made the mistake of swapping them out abruptly and Tucker did have some tummy issues (nothing major, but it’s worth noting). For any dietary changes, always consult the vet. Have you tried the peanut butter flavor? It seems to be Tucker’s favorite!
Remember, every pup is different so it’s essential to figure out what works best for your fur baby!

ParticipantOh, Zuke’s treats? Those little things are like doggy heaven in a bag! I’ve been treating my old gal, Molly, with Zuke’s for about 2 years now and she prances around like a puppy whenever she gets a whiff of ’em. Even at her age, they’re small and soft enough for her to chow down without any issues. Pricing might seem a bit steep initially, but let me tell ya, quality wise you’re getting your money’s worth. For anyone considering transitioning, I’d say go slow or you’ll wind up with a pooch that only performs tricks for Zukes – talk from experience here. Anybody else had their fur-baby develop an exclusive taste for these treats?

ParticipantI’ve been giving my Great Dane, Monty, Zuke’s Mini Naturals for a few months now annd he absolutely love them! I appreciate that they’re on the smaller side, which helps with portion control for his weight management. However, I must say I’m quite pleasantly surprised by their durability. Even tho these are soft chews, they don’t break down in the treat pouch or crumble all over the car seat on trips to the dog park – a small but significant win in my books! As for price, I think Zuke’s treats are reasonably priced given their high-quality ingredients and the sheer joy they bring to Monty. But where do you folks usually buy your Zuke’s treats? Is there an online retailer you’d recommend that might offer better deals or discounts?

Participantjsut to add a bit more flavor to the Zuke’s conversation here, I’d say these treats have been a big hit with my Labradoodle Axel for thier size. They’re small and soft enough for him to eat quickly which makes them perfect during training sessions. The price can seem a bit steep compared to other brands on the shelf, but considering the high-quality ingredients and happy response from Axel, it justifies the cost in my opinion.
One nugget of advice I might offer is to introduce these treats gradually if your dog has a sensitive stomach. I learned this the hard way when Axel got a bit too enthusiastic about Zuke’s one day and ate more than usual, resulting in some unfortunate gastric distress. Best to consult with your veterinarian about transition methods if you’re concerned!
Anyone else noticed improved focus in their dogs during training with Zuke’s? If so, any specific flavors that seem more enticing for your pups?

Participantall, I can vouch for Zuke’s. I’ve been treating my boy Butch with Zuke’s Mini Naturals for around two years now and he’s just as excited about them today as he was the first time! One thing to mention though, they are on the pricier side compared to some other treats on the market. I believe it’s due to their high-quality ingredients and lack of fillers which, in my book, is totally worth it! Also, if you’ve got a smaller dog like my Butch, these are perfect because they’re small enough for him to chew easily. For those looking for an alternative keep an eye on Wellness Soft Puppy Bites, they’ve been a decent back-up for us when the local pet store runs out of Zuke’s. Has anyone else tried any other Zuke’s varieties? Would love to know your experiences!

ParticipantI’ve been a fan of Zuke’s for a while now; we’ve been feeding our husky, Dakota, the Zuke’s Mini Naturals for about a year. Her energy level has been fantastic and she adores the taste. They’re just the right size for training as Dakota can keep going without getting too full, and I appreciate that they’re crafted with quality ingredients without any starnge fillers.
One month after eating these treats as part of her reward routine, Dakota managed to achieve much better recall in our off-leash park adventures. The mini naturals seem to keep her interest better than larger treats because she doesn’t need to stop and chew – it’s quick reward for quick action!
However, if anyone is wondering about portion control, definitely consult your vet to be sure you’re not overdoing it because of their small size. And if the price point is a concern for other dog owners I´d say it’s well worth it considering their benefits – dakota is a testament to that! Anybody else seen behavior improvements after introducing Zuke’s?

ParticipantCouldn’t agree more with the previous posters about Zuke’s treats. I’ve been using them for my lab, Max, for over three years now and I can definitely attest to their quality. In fact, they’ve become my go-to for training sessions thanks to their small size and Max’s love for them. Plus, the price isn’t too bad considering how long a bag can last us! Always remember tho, even if they are healthy treats, they should still be used in moderation – couldn’t hurt to consult your vet. Does anyone else use these as training rewards?

ParticipantAbsolutely agree with the Zuke’s praise here. My senior beagle, Charlie, has been happily munching on Zuke’s Mini Naturals for a few years now. I was initially impressed with the size – they’re perfect for small to medium dogs annd fantastic for training. Price-wise, they are more on the high end side, but in my opinion, it’s money well spent considering the quality.
A bit of anecdote here, Charlie once managed to get his paws on the bag (my mistake for leaving it low!) and well let’s just say he showed no self-restraint! He was totally fine but we had to cut back on dinner that night to balance it out. Remember not to overfeed folks, no matter how much your pup loves them! Any concerns consult your vet as always.
I’d encourage you to try Zuke’s if you haven’t already; they seem like a hit with most dogs in this thread! Has anyone had any luck using them with dogs who are particularly picky eaters?

ParticipantAbsolutely agree with all the praise for Zuke’s treats! I’ve been using them for my poodle, Bella, for about 6 months now. She absolutely loves the Peanut Butter & Oats recipe. They’re not just delicious as she would say (if she could talk), but also mini-sized which is perfect for her small mouth and helps with portion control. Plus, they are great for training purposes without worrying about overfeeding her.
One tip though, make sure to close the bag properly after each use to keep them fresh! And as always, if you notice any changes in your dog’s behavior or general well-being after introducing new food or treats, it’s best to have a chat with your vet. Has anyone tried their other flavors? How does your pooch like them compared to the peanut butter & oats?
