Just wanted to weigh in on the PetSmart dog bed saga. I’ve recently went through the ‘pick the right bed’ process with my overgrown pup, Bella (she is a 120 pound Bernese, but still thinks she’s a lapdog). First off, beds at PetSmart come in all sizes and styles, so there’s def something for every breed.

I personally picked up an oversized Serta orthopedic memory foam couch pet bed for her – it was a bit on the pricier side, but boy oh boy was it worth it! The size is just perfect for Bella and beats all those thinner pads. It cradles her joints and she seems to be quite comfortable napping on it.

One thing I will point out though is that cleaning can be tad tricky if you have a furball that sheds like crazy. The fuzz tends to stick to the material but nothing one of those lint rollers cant help with.

So yeah heck out some of those higher end options if your furry pal has joint issues or is a larger breed. They might seem a smidge expensive but seriously worth every penny IMO.

    Cheers n happy shopping! 👋🐾

A quick tip when choosing: make sure you get the right size. Too small, and Floof may not be comfy, too big and it takes over your whole living room. Anyone had experience with the Grreat Choice beds? I’ve heard mixed reviews… Interested to know what everyone else thinks before I give it a go.

Also, totally agree with the sizing tip mentioned earlier. When i got my second bed for Max, (went with a plushier one), I barely fit in our living room.. but oh boy, Max has never slept better!

Lasty, keep an eye out for those random sales – sometimes Petsmart has killer deals and… well… More toys for Max 🤷‍♂️

To end my novel here – get to knwo your pooch’s preferences and you wont goof uup like me 😅.

    Stay dogged folks!

Later realized, small dogs actually feel more secure in smaller beds. Researched it and everything. Just my two cents, don’t go overboard with the size thinking they’d appreciate the gesture, cuz honestly they probably won’t haha. 😅

Also does anyone know if there are special beds for older dogs at PetSmart? My Millie isn’t getting any younger and I want to get her something comfy as she ages. Any advice will be super helpful guys!

So right on point about small dogs feeling more secure in smaller beds! My Shih Tzu, Bella, absolutely loves her snug little PetSmart bed. It’s comfy and just the right size for her. It’s just like their own tiny ‘room’, isn’t it?

However, some types of dog beds are better suited than others depending on your puppers’ preferences. If they love to feel snuggled or get a little anxious sometimes, I’d recommend a donut bed from PetSmart. It has raised edges that can help them feel contained and relaxed.

And in case you’ve got an older pooch with arthritis or joint issues, orthopedic beds can give them some relief. Just remember to think about what will make your pup the most comfrtable not just the aesthetic.

Which ones have you guys tried and what’s your furbabies’ verdict? 🙂

all, seeing as I’ve been in the dog game for 14 odd years now, I can’t agree more on the fact that smaller dogs do indeed feel cozier and secure in smaller beds. My pug, Winston, loves his little snug bed from PetSmart. It’s actually the orthopedic Memory Foam Cuddler — darn comfortable I must say!

However, one thing to keep in mind, folks. Just because they’re small doesn’t mean they won’t have big dreams of chewing it up. Winston went through three before he gave it up… a little bitter experience there but we learned our lesson. 😅 Anyone else had issues with their fur buddies loving to chew their beds or is it just me? 🤔 But yeah, go for it! Smaller beds for sure. Maybe just invest in some sturdy chew toys while you’re at it? 😉

I totallly agree with what some of you’ve been saying about the material quality, it is top notch and I appreciate how easy to clean they are, especially with my hairy trio. But y’know something I haven’t seen mentioned yet? It’s their durability. These beds hold up well over time and can really endure those feisty diggers – talking from experience here!

My only tiny gripe would be the price. Could be a smidge more affordable for us multi-dog households…but again, in terms of quality and longevity, it sure seems worth it.

Ever given thought to making your own DIY dog bed though? Did that while waiting on delivery once & it was kinda fun. Plus, had all the control over customization! Anybody else ever tried this? Would love to hear your crafting tales!

From personal experience, be sure to measure your dog when they’re laying down fully stretched out. That way you ensure enough space for them to strech, sprawl or roll – as they do . And yeah don’t forget about washing – ease of cleaning is a must if your pal is anything like mine.

Has anyone tried any alternatives? Costco or Amazon maybe? Their prices seem real competitive but what’s the appreciable difference in quality… or lack thereof?

Like, I found some dandy beds that my labs love but didn’t quite appreciate the hefty price tags. Any good alternatives recommendations you guys might have? Also any insights on when they offer sales? Could use some budget friendly options here, cheeers!

I totally feel ya on the hunt for the perfect PetSmart dog bed. Been there! My golden, Max, he’s a particular fellow when it comes to his sleeping quarters. Initially got him one of those plush donut beds from PetSmart but it lost its fluffiness pretty quick and he didn’t seem comfortable anymore.

Then we tried the Top Paw Orthopedic dog bed and I gotta say, Max seems to enjoy it much more. It’s a bit pricier, but hey, anything for our fur babies, right? The memory foam holds up well and he seems to sleep better on it. Anyone else have experience with the Top Paw options?

And while we’re on the topic of beds, anyone ever take their pup to PetSmart to try out some beds before buying? Maybe that could be a good approach to consider?

    Cheers,
