MemberAlso, on another note. Has anybody tried washing these yet? Had a minor spill (ah, the joys of puppy training!) and not quite sure how’d they stand up in the washer. Would really appreciate any advice you guys have – first-time dog owner here!
PS: To previous posters who were complaining about size issues: try getting one size larger than what’s recommended. Worked so much better for us 😉

MemberThat said, you mentioned your Frenchie has a chewing issue. So here’s my Q- do y’all think the Squishmallows bed will hold up against a chewer? Bella isn’t much of a nibbler so it hasn’t been an issue for us (touch wood!). Any insights? Or should @PawsomePal consider another more durable option?

MemberThat said – and I’m gonna have to disagree with a few folks here – if your Frenchie is a chronic chewer, you might wanna reconsider? No matter how comfy the Squishmallows bed might be, if your little guy gets through it in a fortnight… well, let’s just say he won’t be the only one crying! Maybe some durable chew toys along with the bed could help curb that chewing habit though – saving both the bed and your sanity! What do y’all think?

MemberI had to swap out the Squishmallows bed for a Kong Chew Resistant one after our Fido did some serious damage in a matter of weeks 🙈That being said, no bed is totally indestructible, annd every pup’s different – so it all hinged on your dog’s habits.
Butternut, have you considered using some chew deterrent sprays? Might be a good alternative if your furbaby loves the comfort of the Squishmallow but can’t resist using it as a snack too! 😉

MemberI gotta agree with some of ya here about the Frenchie issue though. Our little guy has been more of a bed muncher than Benny ever was! I ended up trading out the Squishmallow after he managed to rip through one corner. Now we’re team Kong bed here.
Still, for non-destructive pups? Can’t go wrong with a Squishmallow. Super cushy and comfy for their snoozes. But for those doggos with strong gnaw-tendencies you’re better off looking elswhere. Any others who’s had similar experiences or different takes?

MemberHaha, totally can relate to the Frenchie issue! With my Bulldog, it’s pretty much the same story. I was excited about the Squishmallows dog bed too – all that irresistible softness and squishyness seemed like a dream. But then I realized, dreams and reality is different stuff, ya know?
The bed is indeed super comfy. It’s a helluva magnet for my Bulldogs and they sink right in. But that’s exactly the problem – they literally “sink” into it, making it a little hard for them to get up.
They definitely seem COZY but I think these beds should come with a ‘breed suggestion’ or something. Would probably work fab for smaller, lightweight pups though. Anyone’s Chihuahua loving their squishmallow?
P.S – For any fellow Bully owners out there – we’re sticking to firm orthopedic beds for now!

MemberOn the bright side, it’s proving to be pretty resilient despite his antics. Make sure you give it a good fluff up after a wash, they bounce back nicely. Has anyone tried the larger sizes yet or do they have similar mishaps lol?

MemberI do agree with some comments saying that its an absolute fur magnet tho’. The trick I found is just regular vacuuming, keeps it looking almost brand-new. Any other cleaning tips out there for these marshmallow-like beds?
