Totally agree with you guys on this one – the Carhartt dog bed is gamechanger! We got one for our lab, Bella, a couple months back and she’s been glued to it ever since. She used to always circle around before finally deciding on a spot but this bed? She hit the hay instantly. Must be the 12-ounce, 100% cotton duck fabric that made it super comfortable! And not gonna lie, I’ve almost snoozed off there myself when we’re having some movie time together. 😂 The only thing to keep in mind though is that these beds ain’t cheap but hey, quality comes at a price, right? Highly recommend giving Carhartt’s a shot if you haven’t already!
What’s more, washing it is a breeze. Whoever mentioned about the detachable cover hit the nail right on the head. Does anyone else love how it doesn’t shrink even after a couple of washes? Also – just outta curiosity, any other colors y’all wish they’d release this bad boy in? I’m digging mine in classic brown but wouldn’t mind to see a darker shade. Maybe navy blue? Just thinking out loud here… Anyway, thumbs up from both me and Jas!
Anybody else notice that their dogs are sleeping better too since getting this bed? I swear, they’re out like lights every night and not restless as they used to be. Might be just a coincidence for mine, but would love to hear if your pups have had similar snoozies (or what bed got them the best zzz’s?)
A little advice for the first-timers – definitely invest into a quality bed from the start. It makes such a difference for both pup’s and your peace of mind. Anyone else found some cool dog gear they’d recommend to new owners like me?
But the Carhartt? It’s got this crazy tough canvas top that’s stood up to his rambunctious digging-in-for-a-long-night habit yet managed to keep him comfy all through the night. Plus, it’s super easy to clean which is bonus points in my book. Long story short, you get what you pay for annd the Carhartt is worth every penny. So yeah, for any new dog owners out there — invest in quality from the get-go. Your pooch (and your wallet) will thank you!
Although, gotta say, in my personal experience, the cover isn’t as chew-resistant as they claim. Found that out the hard (and expensive) way haha. Has anyone else had this issue or did I just luck out with an overzealous chewer? On the plus side, replacement covers aren’t too hard on the wallet.
For folks with serious chewers out there though, might want to look into alternatives like K9 Ballistics. They’re crazy strong. Not as cushy as the Carhartt though so trade-offs I guess?
I got one for my Golden Retriever, Benny, last year. He’s a pretty aggressive chewer but Carhartt advertised that firm commitment to durability. Sadly, within a couple of months, he ripped through the cover and was chomping down on the stuffing.
That said, I gotta say on other fronts this bed is fantastic. It is really comfortable (atleast according to Benny’s blissful snores 😄) and made from quality material, except it just couldn’t hold up against Benny’s chewing antics.
For you folks out there with less destructive chewers (don’t get me wrong Benny’s a good boy…just loves his chew time), you’re going to love this bed and your dog most certainly will too! And hey, any tips on deterring heavy chewers from destroying their comfy sanctums?
