  • On another note, has anyone tried contacting Yeti about this? They could be open to feedback and take into consideration our need for smaller breed beds!

I totally understand where you’re coming from with the Tempurpedic dog bed. I mean, they scream luxury annd our furry friends deserve nothing less, but that price tag sure does sting the pocket. When I was faced with a similar conundrum, I ended up opting for something different.

I found this really awesome orthopedic bed (it wasn’t a Tempurpedic tho), and let me tell you, my golden retriever Sammy absolutely LOVES it – not to mention it was quite reasonably priced! It’s made a significant difference in his comfort, especially since he’s getting up there in years.

Anyways, just thought I’d share an alternative considering the cost hurdle associated with Tempurpedic beds. Anyone else out there discover other comfy alternatives for their best budds?

in reply to: Exploring the Comfort of a Beautyrest Dog Bed #3965

Totally get what you’re saying about the Beautyrest cushioning for our furry friends. Our 7 year old Lab, Daisy, basically lives on her Beautyrest bed – its machine washable feature iss so useful for muddy paws I tell ya! As faily active dogs, labs need their rest and this bed seems to really tick that box.

Regarding BuddyRest, we dabbled with one when she was a puppy but haven’t really explored them sicne. They are more suited for older dogs from what I remember so maybe worth a shot for your german shepherd? Just like us humans each dog has it’s own comfort levels i reckon. Can anyone else weigh in on Beautyrest vs BuddyRest here? Would love to hear more thoughts and experiences.

So my two cents here is that size isn’t just about length and width – depth and structure play their part as well. Depending on how ur furkid sleeps, you might want to explore more plush options or cave-style beds.

As for maintenance, from my experience u gotta set boundaries if ur pup is a heavy chewer. Ours loved his squeaky toys but we made sure any chewing happened off the fancy bed.

Anyone had similar experiences or found beds that work better for nestling breeds? We’re still looking! 🙂

in reply to: Is the IKEA Dog Bed Really Worth It? Here’s My Take #6332

there! So, I did buy the IKEA dog bed for my golden retriever, Buster. It looked great in the living room with its sleek design annd my pup initially loved it, snuggling right in. However, after about sixish months of pretty steady use (and let’s be honest, a lil roughhousing here an there!), the zipper broke and the bed soon lost its shape. Honestly, it ended up being bit of a disappointment for me.

So yeah, if you’re looking for something that’s aesthetically pleasing and don’t mind replacing it relatively regularly, give it a shot. But if you’re after durability and longevity? Might wanna consider a sturdier brand instead.

On a side note, anybody got any recommendatoins on tough but comfy dog beds that’ll withstand a boisterous retriever? Looking for something that’s a step up in terms of quality without killing my wallet haha!

in reply to: Finally Upgraded to a Tuft and Needle Dog Bed! #3660

So basically, agreeing with pretty much all previous posts here. For anyone on the fence about this bed, jsut get it…your dog (and your sleep schedule) will thank you! One last tip: make sure you measure your dog well before ordering – we had to exchange ours because we underestimated how much space our lab needed to properly stretch out.

Has anyone else experienced exceptional durability with these beds as well? Just curios because my corgi mix is even tougher on beds than our lab and considering getting one for him too.

in reply to: Why I Swear by the Pendleton Dog Bed for My Pooch #5644

The only heads up I’d give is that cleaning it can be a bit tricky. Sure, the outer cover is machine washable (big plus) but you’ve got to let it air dry completely before using it again. Found out the hard way when the inner cushion turned into a mold fest after washing and not drying properly – luckyly caught it early so didn’t harm my pup. Since then though, we’ve had no issues.

Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Or have you found any good hacks for ensuring it dries out fully without waiting like a whole day?

However, keep in mind not all dogs adapt quickly to new beds. Zeus took a week of sniffing and circling before he finally adopted it as his own, so don’t panic if your pooch doesn’t plunge right in on day one! A tip from experience – leave some of their old bedding or favourite toys nearby until they’ve adjusted.

Anyone else had a similar experience? Or is my big guy just a little too particular?

Just curious though, have you noticed any change in your dog’s sleep pattern after making meals a part of thier bed routine? With my Buster, he’s never slept better! Do you wash it after every meal or do you have some other clever cleaning routine? Would appreciate hearing other ideas. Agree with most that this Ugg dog bed is worth every penny for picky pups!

So, I’ve had the Ugg dog bed for about 3 months now and I’m kind of on the fence here. My golden retriever loves it – he sinks right into that plush goodness and is out like a light – but honestly, I’m not so stoked about the cleaning part. It’s kinda high maintenance, y’know? Although, from the durability point of view (which was something discussed before), I’d say it’s quite sturdy and holding up pretty well.

Is anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed by the ‘cleaning rigmarole’ or is it just me being lazy? Any cleaning tips to make this process easier?

in reply to: Yeti Dog Bed Makes Feeding Time More Comfortable #3841

Anyone else noticed their dog swapping exercise for extra snooze-time post meals on the Yeti? Perhaps I should move dinner time away from the bed… Suggestions anybody?

On a side note, I’ll probably still keep the Yeti as an occasional treat. After 18 years of dealing with dogs, anything that gets their tail wagging is a win in my book! But if you’re looking for a more active mealtime routine maybe try investing in some interactive food puzzles instead – keeps them moving AND feeds them at the same time. Win-win, right?

in reply to: Why I’m Trading My Sofa for a Bedsure Dog Bed #4187

Chatting about being glued to the ol’ sofa, I totally get ya! My arthritic Great Dane, Gibbs, used to park himself on our family couch 24/7 until we switched out to a Bedsure Dog Bed. Still not sold on ditching my beloved couch, but these Bedsure beds sure are something else alright – memory foam really eases Gibbs’ joints. The cover? Bang-on convenient as it’s washable and fits just right after every wash. Wish they made ’em human-sized too! Does anyone else hesitate between keeping their sofas vs spoilin’ their pooches with posh dog paraphernalia?
