  • jsut weighed in on the Pelsbarn bed topic. I’ve actually got two of these beds for my terriers annd they’re pretty good on the whole. The pups seem to like them and the materials are high quality. But boy, if you’re buying Pelsbarn, be ready for a wrestle when it comes to cleaning time! It’s kinda like trying to stuff an elephant into a Fiat 500 – not easy at all 🐘🚗😄.

I personally would recommend giving ‘Ruff and Tumble’ orthopedic beds a look. They tick all the boxes: comfortable, durable and (the golden ticket) MACHINE WASHABLE! Trust me, your future self will thank you when you’re not spending hours battling with a stubborn cushion cover!

Checking out other brands could be worth your while. Has anyone else here had experience with Ruff and Tumble? Or perhaps another easy-to-clean brand I haven’t stumbled upon yet?

I agree with ya on the washing tip; mild soap annd warm water works best in my experience, tho tumble dry might be a no-no. Instead let it air-dry if you can.

Have any of you tried Orvis dog beds as an alternative? They’re supposed to be pretty durable too but they do come with a steeper price tag… Worth it?

My old pal Jake absolutely adores his – he barely wants to get out of it in the mornings! The removable cover is super easy to wash as well which keeps it from getting stinky. If your pups are anything like Jake, they might occasionally bring some mud to bed!

The size guides are pretty spot on too, but don’t hesitate to get a bigger size if you’re unsure. Bigger is generally better! Also I found flipping it every now annd then actually makes it last longer (little trick from the me days!). Has anyone else found this same thing? It’s kind of like our own matressses right?

all! Absolutely seconding the love for the Reddy dog bed here. I got one when I adopted my pup Murphy a few months back and it’s seriously been a godsend. He’s not really a chewer (thankfully!) but his constant digging never fazes this bed. Once, he even yanked it all around to create a make-shift fort and no tears or rips at all. Lifesaver in terms of durability!

Regarding comfort, well, let’s just say Murph spends more time on his Reddy bed than anywhere else in the house😄. It seems to hold its shape really well too even after several loundry cycles – not like those beds that go flat after a month *rolls eyes*

Only small gripe would be – wish they had more color options, something wild like leopard prints or neon shades maybe? Or am i just being an extra dog mom? 😅 Anyway, all in all, I’d highly recommend this bed to fellow dog owners!

P.S: Anyone else think their dog becomes overly possessive with their reddy beds or is it just mine who loves it too much?

Here’s my advice: try mixing a tiny-bit of the new food into their old food initially while they’re chilling on their Yeti. Gradually increase the new food proportion over time, helps your pooch adjust better to the taste without startling them. Keepin’ it consistent with feeding times helps heaps too! Are you using any specific treat to eases his allergies?

Just remember, patience is key while dealing with dietary changes. All the best matey! 👍

I have to say, I felt similar to a lot of you when considering swapping over to a Tempur Pedic dog bed. I mean, isn’t it just another fancy product that’s just as good as other cheaper brands? But hey, after being in the dog world for 18 long years, I’ve learned every new investment needs fair consideration.

We bit the bullet and made the switch – and boy, am I glad we did! Fido was struggling with joint issues and these days he jumps out of his Tempur Pedic bed like he’s a puppy again. You see, these beds really do take pressure off thier joints unlike any other cushions.

So, if you’re on the fence about getting one, my advice is go for it! Your pup may not get cheaper vet bills (I wish!), but the extra comfort is worth it!

P.S One little drawback though; they’re not exactly easy to clean in case your doggie has an accident. How does everyone else deal with this? Any tips appreciated!

I ended up going with a PupRug bed and it was a game-changer. Joey LOVES it big time! It’s orthopedic and designed to look like a fancy rug which is nice for us human beings who’ve gotta look at it every day.

Maybe worth shopping around before making the plunge? Anyone else tried different brands and found something they really swear by?

in reply to: Finding the Right Balance with Squishmallows Dog Bed #5355

Haha, totally can relate to the Frenchie issue! With my Bulldog, it’s pretty much the same story. I was excited about the Squishmallows dog bed too – all that irresistible softness and squishyness seemed like a dream. But then I realized, dreams and reality is different stuff, ya know?

The bed is indeed super comfy. It’s a helluva magnet for my Bulldogs and they sink right in. But that’s exactly the problem – they literally “sink” into it, making it a little hard for them to get up.

They definitely seem COZY but I think these beds should come with a ‘breed suggestion’ or something. Would probably work fab for smaller, lightweight pups though. Anyone’s Chihuahua loving their squishmallow?

P.S – For any fellow Bully owners out there – we’re sticking to firm orthopedic beds for now!
