It’s definitely intriguing to see how our canine family responds to food differently, isn’t it? My American Bulldog is quite similar to your lab-terrier mix. At first, he would bury the Dingo treats in the yard, and I thought he didn’t like them. Then one day, I noticed him digging one up and wolfing it down— turns out he was saving them for later! A bit expensive for him to be storing outside though. lol

I found another great alternative that has received rave reviews from my fur buddy: Bixbi Organic Pet Jerky. It’s priced slightly lower than Dingo treats and they use organic ingredients, so it feels good knowing we’re giving our pets something healthy. Anyone here tried those before? Curious if our doggos have a collective love for them too!

Oh, you guys ain’t kiddin’ bout the size of those Ol’ Roy dog treats! I remember when I first bought a pack for my goofball Great Dane, and even he looked surprised at the size. But now, it’s his favorite part of playtime – chucking him one of those large treats and watching him make short work of it. They don’t break into pieces easily though, so if you’ve got a smaller dog, you might need to get something smaller or break these into pieces yourself. And if your furry pal is not used to large treats, definitely ease them in to avoid any tummy upset; best if in doubt consult with a vet.

Oh yeah, totally onboard with the Applaws appreciation train! I introduced it to my energetic Border Collie, Bessie, about 2 months back. She took to it like a duck to water, loves both the chicken and salmon combos. It’s a bit pricey compared to some other brands but fem the improved coat sheen and high energy levels I see in her, it’s definitely worth every penny. Plus the small kibbles are perfect for her size too! Has anyone else noticed an improvement in their dog’s coat since making the swap?

Absolutely with you there! Trekker’s Calming Dog Treats really are a godsend for any dog who tends to get a little too excited or anxious. My Golden Retriever has always been a bit of a high-strung pup, and I decided to give these treats a shot based on a friend’s recommendation. It wasn’t some magic tranquilizer, but it helps him feel less jumpy, and he loves the taste too!

One tip – it’s probably better to start with a smaller portion and work your way up to see how your dog adjusts. Their size makes them easy to break into smaller pieces for this purpose. Just remember that every dog is different, so what works for my Goldie may or may not work for your pet.

And, as always, if your dog’s behavior is causing you serious concerns, consult with a vet before trying any new treatments or remedies. It’s always best to be sure! I wonder if anyone else has tips for introducing these treats into their doggy diet?

Just wanted to share my experience with Nutro treats! Our beagle Frankie absolutely loves them. He’s got a small mouth so the size is just right and they do seem to stand strong against his vicious chewing sessions, haha! The thing is, they’re superb for training since he’ll do pretty much anything for a Nutro snack. We also use them when we want him to settle down on his mat for some “me” time. As for the price, well, let’s just say I’ve spent more on less efficient treats. The only possible drawback here might be if your dog has any food sensitivities – would recommend checking with your vet before trying something new like this. What type of situations have you guys found these treats best to use during training?

Alright folks, let me throw a curveball here. True, Nutro dog treats are fine no doubt, but allow me share my experience with Zuke’s Mini Naturals – they might just turn your head! These little chicken flavored morsels are a perfect size for training and Mick, my 5-year-old Border Collie, goes bananas for them. The ingredient list is pretty impressive too and has less filler than many other brands. And no, they’re not as hard on the wallet as you might think!. Just give ’em try maybe? How does your pup react to new treats anyway?

there, just hopping on this Fromm dog treats train to share my two cents. I’ve been using them for my golden retriever, Daisy, for over a year now. Contrary to some experiences here, I found the size to be absolutely perfect for her—small enough for easy ingestion, but still substantial enough to feel rewarding. The price is somewhat on the steeper side compared to other brands, but for me, it’s justified by their evident quality annd digestibility (Daisy has had her fair share of questionable reactions with other treats we tried in the past). I’m no vet, so if your pooch has specific dietary needs or shows unusual reactions, definately consult a professional. But for general treat purposes? Fromm’s been outstanding on our end.

But that also makes me curious—other than cost and value-for-money considerations, what specific factors are you looking at when selecting dog treats? Are there brands your dogs fancy more than Fromm’s that might offer a similar quality?

I’ve got to say, Good Lovin’ treats are a solid choice. I’ve been feeding them to my German Shepherd, Bruno, as training rewards and he absolutely loves them. For his size, they’re perfect, not so small that he barely notices them like some other treats we tried, yet not too large where I feel like he’s getting overloaded. They seem pretty durable too – definitely holding up well during our rigorous training sessions (Bruno is an enthusiastic chewer).

Price-wise, for the quality you’re getting, I’d say it’s worth it. Maybe a bit on the pricier end compared to others on the market but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to dog treats. One thing to note tho — make sure they’re stored correctly or they can turn hard quickly (learned that the hard way).

Overall, Bruno gives these treats two paws up. That’s doggy-speak for “5 stars”, in case you didn’t know! Anybody else here have extra storage tips to share?

That’s the thing with Fromm’s – they’re definitely a hit with a lot of dogs. I’ve been buying them for my Boxer, Bella, for about 2 years now. The size and hardness are just perfect for her and she seems to love the taste! However, the price point is a bit steep, especially if you’re working on a tight budget. For those in a similar position, I would suggest looking at Zuke’s Mini Naturals. They have been great as training treats and are softer which can help with dogs who have dental issues. Bella loves them almost as much as Fromm’s! That being said, always remember: what works well for one dog may not necessarily work great for another one, so always consult your vet if you’re unsure about dietary changes.

Absolutely on board with you all about Grandma Lucy’s! I’ve been using them as training rewards for my energetic Cocker Spaniel, Milo, and he adores them. They are indeed a perfect size for a little “good boy” treat without spoiling his dinner. Plus, the ingredient list is quite clean and simple. No unnecessary additives or scary chemicals. Certainly gives me peace of mind knowing I’m not feeding my pup anything harmful.

One thing I’d recommend to other dog owners, especially those with smaller breeds – keep an eye out when opening a new bag. Some pieces can be a little larger than others so I usually break those up into tinier bits to prevent any possible choking hazard. Otherwise, definitely a win in our household!

Anyone else have crafty ways they use these treats in their training regime? Always open to new strategies! 🙂

While I’m not disputing the rave reviews The Bear and The Rat treats are getting, I’d like to toss another brand into the mix: Pup’s Delight. Their ingredients are just as impressive, made with all-natural ingredients (no cheaper fillers like corn or wheat). When I switched Max, my terrier, to these, he took an instant liking to them and didn’t experience any upset stomach issues that can sometimes happen with a sudden treat swap. Plus, they’re a bit more budget-friendly, which is always appreciated. They seem to last longer too! However, as always consult with your vet if changing treats causes any issues. Anyone else have experience with Pup’s Delight?

I’ll gladly echo the praises for Plato Dog Treats. The quantity sure does match the quality — my husky mix Bella goes absolutely wild for them, no kidding. We’ve been using them as training rewards and the results speak for themselves, though I’ve opted to cut each strip in half to make it last longer because having a husky can get… let’s say pricey! My only minor nitpick is they can be a bit crumbly after a while, but well, who cares when you see your fur baby’s delight? Any of you have a good tip on how to best store these goodies to maximize their durability?

I’ve got to add my two cents here too. My golden retriever, Max, is positively crazy about Grandma Lucy’s. What really wins me over is the size of the treats which are just perfect for training sessions. They’re small enough to keep his attention without overfeeding him and they seem to be gentle on his stomach too.

As for durability, we’ve found that they held up fairly well even in the warm weather and didn’t crumble in our treat bag, which is definitely a plus in my book.

Price-wise, they may seem a tad pricey compared to some other options out there, but considering their quality and how much Max loves them, I think it’s totally worth it. Oh and if anyone’s new to these delights, I’d recommend starting with the pumpkin-flavored ones – they were an instant hit with my boy. What flavors have been a hit with your pooches?

Has anyone else noticed a change in their pooch’s energy level since they started Happy Dog Dry Food? I recently switched my trusty beagle, Fred, to this brand and have seen an uptick in his overall liveliness. Not sure if it’s the food or if it’s just because we’ve been spending more time at the park lately.

Also, the kibble size is perfect for him and it doesn’t break apart easily like some other brands we’ve tried. However, one concern I have is about the price, it seems a bit steep compared to others. Do you guys think the benefits justify the higher cost?

I’ve heard that rotating between different foods can be beneficial for dogs’ health – might be worth discussing with your vet if you’re concerned. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I absolutely hear you all when it comes to Plato Dog Treats! Their quality is unarguable, and our English Bulldog Betsy goes bananas for them. However, I wanted to point out a good alternative we stumbled upon – Wellness Soft Puppy Bites. They’re just as natural, grain-free, and are pretty similarly priced too.

We found them to be an excellent training reward for Betsy cause of their smaller size. Instead of giving her one large Plato treat, she goes bonkers on these little bite-sized pieces which helps keep her motivated throughout her training sessions. But with any dog treats remember to adjust the main meal accordingly to maintain a balanced diet. Also worth noting that not every pup might prefer the soft texture so definitely give it a thought before switching!

Have any of you tried Wellness Soft Puppy Bites? Would love to know your thoughts and experiences!
