  • in reply to: Unwrapping the Hype: Is the Yeti Dog Bed Worth it? #4077

Definitely agree on the price of the Yeti bed, it’s steep but oh man, my Border Collie absolutely adores his own personal cloud. I did feel the pinch when I bought it, but considering how much he loves it, totally worth it!

I’ve also ran into the drying problem after washing it. Feels like it takes furever (pun intended)! I tried blow drying bits of it which seemed to help some, but overall still a lengthy process. Maybe it’s the trade-off for that plushness?

One thing for sure is that pesky fur doesn’t stick to this bed as much as it did with other cheaper variants. Anybody else noticed this too? Might be just me… 🤔

So I’d say if you can afford the Yeti and don’t mind the drying time, go for it! Your pupper will thank you!

Although the cleanup is also a massive pro, I was initially so worried about how sturdy the thing would be – turns out it’s pretty much bullit-proof! It’s survived my hyperactive niece bouncing around on it multiple times. annd let me add – she’s not exactly feather-weight! 😅

Reviewing these past comments though, anyone tried one of those Coolaroo dog beds? They seem pretty similar to Kurandas… wondering if they’re as durable.

By the way, anyone tried those bitter apple sprays to discourage chewing? I heard they could help. An alternative could be trying dog furniture with tougher materials. Kuranda dog beds are pretty robust – they say “chew-proof” but we know better don’t we? They’re elevated off the floor too which Bella finds less appealing (annd less chewable!). Would be interested to hear if others have found any good solutions to save our beloved dog beds from thier gnawing doom. 😉

About cleaning, yep spryaing with an enzyme cleaner post-vacuum does wonders. Sometimes I even throw in a bit of apple cider vinegar into the mix, also helps keep pests at bay. Has anyone else tried this?

Definitely the most durable, comfy bed we’ve ever purchased for our fur boy!

But I wanted to ask if anyone else found difficulties cleaning theirs? Bella has quite the talent for getting everything mucky in no time annd while it’s held up great so far, any tips for easier cleanup would be appreciated!

A snugly blanket definitely helps, she drags her tattered ol’ blankie everywhere around the house (you bet it found its way onto this bed too!). If your furball isn’t warming up to it, turning their favorite chew toy into a pseudo-pillow might be worth a shot—I tried this on Maddie during our trial period with the new bed. Thankfully it seemed to highten her interest in it.

Have any of you folks try an orthopedic bed as an option? I’ve ben hearing rave reviews about them especially for senior pups. While there’s no one-size-fits-all, they seem to cater to dogs’ specific needs better and more comfortably – just food for thought!

Also, I’ve found that a cozy blanket on top can make it feel snauggler for them (even if they end up half off the bed 😆). Anyone else try any ‘softening’ techniques or do your dogs simply learn to love the firmness?

Just want to chime in on this Squishmallow dog bed discussion. I’ve recently purchased one for my Goldie, Bella. She usually rips apart anything soft or fluffy given half a chance, but somehow… she adores this squishmallow bed and treats it like her baby – no destructive behaviors at all!

I agree with some previous posters though. While it’s super cozy and definetely gives our four-legged pals a good night’s sleep, washing these types of beds can be a real pain. Any tips on the best way to clean them?

Also, out of curiosity (and because Bella might need a backup one day), are there any other similar styled beds available that dogs seem to love?

Amara (my pooch), normally shrugs off most beds after a week max, but this is kind of her comfort oasis now. It’s not only adorable but washes well too, was quite a surprise when it held up so well in the washer. So yeah, that’s a pro-tip: it’s incredibly durable despite the cutesy appearance.

One thing I noticed was that some reviewers had concerns about the stuffing getting lumpy over time, but so far ours is still plump and comfy – maybe we got lucky or our Amara isn’t as rambunctious as some pups out there lol

So, anyone else have positive experiences with thier doggo refusing to part from their Hello Kitty heaven or it’s just my princess being overly picky about her throne?

On the flip side though, cleaning it was kind of a hassle. The cover takes forever to dry once you’ve washed it, so maybe having a second cover on hand wouldn’t be such a bad idea? Just something to keep in mind for those debating between models.

As for you Chloe fans – retrievers do love their space! Can totally see why an Orvis makes sense for them sprawlers!🐕‍🦺🛏

So Cuddles has been lounging in it since she was barely bigger than a shoe. And she adores that bed more than anything else! What I love most is how super easy it is to clean, and so far it’s held up great despite some destructive puppy teething moments. 😂

For anyone looking for a fun alternative, check out the Star Wars dog beds too – they are just as comfy and adorable! 😉🐕‍🦺

So, Buster loves his Hello Kitty bed? Does it stay cool enough during the summer and warm in winters?
