MemberPost: Oh boy, I couldn’t agree more with you! I got my Bichon Frise, Daisy, a fringe dog bed about a year ago and she is absolutely in love with it. The soft fringes actually give her the feeling of being snuggled up next to another pack member, or so my vetrinarian told me. The fabric holds up well against her little paws too 😂 . Just an insider tip : if your pup gets over-excited with the fringes and starts tearing them apart, just some bitter apple spray should do the trick. Has anyone else tried these beds with bigger breeds? Expecting some larger than life stories! 😉

MemberI noticed someone mentioned double the dogs equals double the… mess? Well, with my trio there’s always gonna be a bit of chaos, but honestly – no more than when they each had their own beds. Might juts be my group though.
If you’ve got a super picky pooch or one that realy values their alone time, you might want to consider getting separate ones. But overall big thumbs up for the Plufl bed from me annd my pack. Is anyone else loving how ridiculously easy it is to clean these things???

MemberA piece of advice from my side, get a size larger than you think you might need. They seem to shrink a bit after washes – or maybe it’s just that our fur-bestie has been growing; hard to tell sometimes😅. Barney will swap out if your size doesn’t fit perfectly though, top-notch customer service there!
Anyone else got tips for keeping the bed fresh smelling without excessive washing? Always up for some tried-and-tested wisdom!

MemberBut I couldn’t agree more on keeping the dinner schedule consistent – it’s key. Learned quickly, though, not to mix bedding and feeding locations. That was a ticket to crumb city…and let’s not talk about potential bug issues.
As an alternative, we got Buddy one of those puzzle feeders. Keeps him mentally engaged at meal times and the food stays out of his royal resting place. Worked a treat for us! Anyone else try these brain-game type feeders? My boy just can’t get enough of it.

MemberFor those having issues, maybe check if the bed size is right for your pooch? As per my vet, mismatches in bed sizes can lead to discomfort annd might be the reason they’re rejecting or tearing up thier new beds. Anyone else notice this correlation?

MemberBefore that, we were constantly changing beds cuz he’d chew them off or they’d get super flat within weeks. MyPillow seems to resist his love of chewing annd stay puffy longer.
Anyone experimenting with other beds that work well for chewers? Benny is a Chewasaurus Rex when he gets going…
Mighty curious, any of you tried sprinkling your dog’s bed with calming essential oils? Lavender maybe? Did it make any difference? Benny seems to dislike any smell on his bed so far but maybe we just haven’t found the right one haha! Would appreciate insights! Cheers!

MemberI’m curious about the Kong Chew Resistant bed mentioned earlier tho. How does it stand uo against some serious chewing? Bruno can be pretty relentless when he gets one of his “chewing moods”.
Also wondering on the comfort level…Bruno’s 7 now and getting slight arthritis, so a comfy bed is crucial for us. Is it worth swapping our current setup?

MemberGoldie was standing on it more than sleeping on it in the beginning lol. Took her about three weeks until she started to “sink” into it. What a sight! Anyways yes, just give it a bit of time and your pooch will likely get adjusted to it.
And as an alternative – if you’re really worried about this whole stiffness thing, you could always try those waterbed style dog beds. We previously had one and let me tell ya, Goldie loved that thing! Any other fur parents here who’ve tried waterbed for their dogs? How’s your experience with them?

MemberJust wanted to chime in on the Tuft and Needle dog bed discussion. We’d been through many a bed here, before we got Max his Tuft and Needle one about a year ago. He’s a bony old labrador, always had trouble settling in for his naps due to discomfort.
I can’t tell you how much of a difference this bed has made! It’s got the right amount of firmness, y’know, doesn’t just collapse under him like some of the fluffier beds do. Seen significant improvement in how comfortably and long he sleeps now. Plus… total bonus… it’s crazy easy to clean up!
Anyone else find the cleaning process this simple? Or am I just really bad with other beds? 😂 Anyway, highly recommend this bad boy to anyone with dogs dealing with joint or comfort issues.
P.S. @GoldenDaneLover44 – have you tried removing the cover and washing it separately like the instructions say? Makes it so much less daunting.

MemberHate to hear you’ve had issues with your Pendleton; could be a dud as you suggested? reaches out for virtual hug You might want to consider reaching out to customer service to see if they can sort things out?
Anyway, any other dog owners facing the same issue or we have a rare iceberg here?

MemberBUT – a word of caution here. For those with shedders? You’re gonna have your work cut out, trust me! In my case, the clean-up became quite the ordeal. Even with regular vacuuming, some weeks it’d like a fur storm hit our living room!
I see some of you recommending Kong Chew Resistant for heavy chewers annd I wholeheartedly second that. Maybe we got the odd one out, but ours has lasted about a year now with barely any damage! Seems more durable too – might be worth considering as an alternative if your furbaby’s also part piranha.
Any tips on handling the fur situation though?
11/02/2024 at 7:39 AM in reply to: Why I Love My Brindle Dog Bed: A Tale of Comfort & Durability #4354LoyalMutt1554
MemberNow I’ve tried various brands over the years but recently switched to a Brindle Dog Bed and folks… it’s been a game changer. This bed has withstood all her nighttime activities without compromising on comfort one bit. Nyla seems more relaxed now; maybe it’s because of the orthopedic memory foam filling doing wonders for her joints.
As for those stuck between two brands, I’d say consider your dog’s quirks and needs first — if they’re anything like my Nyla, you might want to give Brindle a try. It may not be the cheapest option out there but hey, can’t put a price on our fur babies’ good sleep and happiness, right? Anyway, that’s just been my experfience… anyone else found it stood up well (or not) under heavy use?

MemberJust wanted to throw in my two cents on the Yeti dog bed. I’ve had mine for over a year now and my labradoodle, Max, loves it! It’s super durable, easy to clean and definitely have stood up to Max’s endless digging attempts. I know it’s a little pricier, but if you consider how often cheaper beds get destroyed (been there done that), I think it pays for itself in the long run.
One small tip though: If you get one, be sure to introduce it properly. When we first got Max’s Yeti bed he didnt want to go near it (maybe beacuse of its new smell 🤷♂️). So we spent a week playing on it together and leaving some of his favorite treats till he asociated the bed with good times.
Has anyone else experienced this initial resistance?
Cheers!

MemberThe calming shag fabric seems to really make him feel comfortable whenever there’s a thunderstorm or loud noises (fireworks are not his friend). He just burrows himself into the donut shape and next thing we know, he’s snoring!
I’ve seen some folks complain about washing it though. Word of advice: follow the washing instructions. We learned the hard way after trying to tumble dry it on high heat – took ages for it to get back to its normal fluffy state!
Overall though, no regrets at all with this purchase. Totally rate this dog bed! Anybody else have washing stories or tips? Have you used any other beds that compare?
