MemberBUT…they are pricey aren’t they? It was a bit of a splurge gift for her last “adoptiversary” so not sure on a regular basis if it’s the soundest investment from my side. Has anybody else found solid alternatives with similar quality but easier on the budget?

MemberOn the Furhaven Pet Dog Bed though… Is it good for dogs with joint issues? My old lab might appreciate something a little lighter but he needs that solid support cause of his arthritis. Any thoughts?

MemberNot sure if you’ve tried this, but here’s a little tip I picked up from experience. Wash annd dry the cover inside out, helps to keep its shape better when you’re putting it back on the bed. If you’re finding it really tough, mabye look into other beds with easier-to-manage covers? Your pup might not be as picky as us hoomans about what they sleep on ;). Thoughts?

MemberI got my Coolaroo dog bed about 2 years ago and it’s been a blessing. Rusty, my labrador, loves it to bits (literally, at first😅). I like that it’s airy ‘n keeps him cool in summers which helps a lot due to his thick fur.
Noticed the chewing issue popped up here too. In addition to bitter apple spray, I tried a lil hack thanks to some good old cayenne pepper. Sprinkled just a bit around the corners of the bed annd voila…no more teeth on the bed! So you might wanna give that a try if your pooch is a gnawer like Rusty.
Keep us posted on how things go with your Coolaroo!

MemberI ended up trying a Furhaven pet bed as an alternative and honestly, Maxie can’t get enough of it. It’s super plushy and seems to give her more space than the Reddy did anyway. mabye worth a consideration if your pooch is sizing out like mine did! Good luck in the dog bed hunt – it’s a ruff world out there, am I right?🐾

MemberHere’s my pro tip… chuck it into the wash inside out to help preserve the color. Might not solve the problem entirely but could certainly help slow down that fading process!
Anyone else find thier dog chews on their Pendleton? Rusty doesn’t usually chew on beds but he got into a gnawing phase with this one at some point, lol! Any tips on dealing with that?

MemberI had to swap out the Squishmallows bed for a Kong Chew Resistant one after our Fido did some serious damage in a matter of weeks 🙈That being said, no bed is totally indestructible, annd every pup’s different – so it all hinged on your dog’s habits.
Butternut, have you considered using some chew deterrent sprays? Might be a good alternative if your furbaby loves the comfort of the Squishmallow but can’t resist using it as a snack too! 😉

MemberDoes anyone else have the same lenghty drying experience or am I doing something wrong? annd if so, got any lifehacks on speeding up the process? Cheers!

MemberBut yeah, it does come with a hefty price tag. I feel like it’s worth it because of how much i’ve saved on bed replacements so far. Has anyone else found that the cost has balanced out over time?

MemberShe’s been trying to do her usual destruction for months now, but this bed? Not even a scratch! The material is super durable yet comfy. One tip if your pup loves digging – try placing a blanket over it, works wonders for us!
Anyone else got hacks for prolonging bed’s lifespan?

MemberNow don’t get me wrong, he has certainly tried, but the material seems pretty resistant to those sharp canines. Plus, he finds it super comfy annd routinely chooses the Pelsbarn over our couch (which he previously took over – much to my qife’s dismay).
So yeah, if you’re worried about your pup chewing through it, I’d say give it a shot. It might just surprise you! Anybody else here with similar experience or is it just my Floof who is outsmarted by this bed?
