  • in reply to: My Experience with Wholesomes Dog Food: A Review #2445

I recently made the switch to Wholesomes dog food for my two Border Collies and I’m so glad I did! They’ve really taken a liking to it and I can see a noticeable difference in their energy levels throughout the day.

Before, with the old brand, they would get sluggish by mid-afternoon but now they’re up and at it almost all day. Their coat’s also looking richer and shinier – a surefire sign that they’re eating well.

As far as ingredients go, I love that Wholesomes keeps it straightforward without any questionable additives or by-products. Plus, their recipe variety has something for every canine palate. My older guy loves the Chicken Meal & Rice while the young’un practically inhales the Lamb & Rice.

The proof is definitely in the pudding – or in this case, kibble – because check-ups at the vet have never gone smoother. She mentioned their overall health seems better since introducing Wholesomes into their diet.

Of course every pup is different and what works for mine may not work for yours but, based on our experience so far, I’d say it’s worth giving Wholesomes a shot if you’re considering changing your furry friend’s diet.

Happy pet-parenting everyone! Remember to sneak in those extra belly rubs whenever you can. 😊🐶

I’ve been feeding Heritage Ranch to my golden retriever for about 6 months now, and honestly, he seems to love it! His coat looks shiny and healthy, plus he’s got a lot of energy. What I dig about this brand is that the first ingredient on their list is always real meat and it doesn’t contain any corn, wheat, or soy (since my boy can be sensitive to these ingredients).

On the flip side, some people say it’s too pricey for their budget which I can definitely understand. My thoughts are if it works for your fur-baby and you’re able to swing it, why not? After all, we only want what’s best for our dogs!

Hope this helps you make a decision! Happy dog-parenting! 🐾

I’ve got two Labradors, Baxter and Daisy, and they absolutely love Blue Buffalo! I made the switch about a year ago after realizing that the stuff I was feeding them just wasn’t up to par with their health needs. One of my buddies recommended Blue Buffalo.

The change in their energy levels was practically immediate. They’re more playful, enthusiastic on walks and overall seem healthier. Their coats are glossier than before too.

Now, as any dog owner would know, Labs can put a lot of anything away – but even then, the lack of fillers in Blue Buffalo seems to keep them full longer. Sure, it’s pricier than many other brands on the shelf, but hey… good health is priceless. Maybe for Baxter and Daisy too! 😉

Another neat thing is the variety they offer – it gives me options according to their dietary requirements or even if I simply want to mix up their meals a bit every now and then.

The only downside is that some flavors or types don’t agree with Baxter’s sensitive tummy, but after a few trials and errors, we’ve settled on ones that work for them both.

Remember all pups are different though, so what works for mine may not work for yours. But I’d say give it a go if you’re considering the switch! Happy pup parenting everyone!

We’ve been feeding our Golden Retriever, Max, Taste of the Wild for close to a year now and I’d love to share my thoughts with you.

Firstly, we switched to it based on our vet’s recommendation. He kept itching and scratching himself before. Turns out, he had food allergies, poor guy! So, taste of the wild being grain-free was a perfect fit for him. And honestly, since the switch Max’s coat has never looked healthier!

I know some folks find it pricey but let me tell ya, it’s totally worth it! The ingredients are real quality stuff, no fillers or any artificial nasties. I believe if you’re gonna have a pet, you should properly take care of them. That means serving nutritious meals and not just empty calories.

The only slight downside is that Max didn’t really dig the bison & venison flavour at first (a bit too gamey), but after trying the salmon one he was hooked! So maybe consider variety packs initially?

So overall, Taste of the Wild gets two thumbs up from us! Max seems happier and I have less worries about him chowing down on something unhealthy so it’s win-win. Hope this helps!

I was a bit skeptical at first. Those high protein, grain-free diets? Been there, tried those. But when Max started putting on pounds, I thought I’d give this stuff a shot and boom – he loves it. I even switched my younger mutt onto it too and haven’t had any issues with their tummies acting up.

It’s a bit of an investment compared to some other brands out there but definitely worth it if you ask me. Just remember not every food works the same for every dog, but yeah, Wellness CORE gets two thumbs up from me! Keep those tails wagging, folks!

in reply to: Personal Experiences with Beneful Dog Food: A Review #2132

My golden retriever, Max, has been on the Beneful diet for about six months now, and it’s worked out pretty well for us. The variety of flavors means that he doesn’t get bored, which I appreciate because Max can be picky sometimes.

I particularly like the fact that real chicken is always listed as one of the primary ingredients. It gives me peace of mind knowing Max is getting a protein-rich diet.

On the flip-side though, I did notice that some types have corn listed as an ingredient, which isn’t always ideal – especially if your pooch is sensitive to grains. However, Max hasn’t shown any adverse reactions so far, perhaps due to the healthy mix of veggies in there too.

Also worth noting that Beneful keeps him well filled-up – I’ve noticed a decrease in constant begging for treats (ha). Plus his coat seems shinier than ever!

I’d say give it a go as long as your dog doesn’t have any special dietary needs or grain allergies. As with any food changes though, make sure you transition slowly and watch out for any sudden changes in their health or behavior.

    Cheers,
    DogLover123
