  • in reply to: Making the Switch to Barney Dog Bed: A Game Changer? #4002

About the old t-shirt trick – totally works like a charm! I’ve also used an old sweatshirt of mine on chilly nights. Acts like a bit of a warm hug for our furry friends.

But here’s an idea: why not try a heated blanket? There are pet-safe ones out there really work well during winter months. Plus, they come wtih safety features that automatically switch off after a certain period. Has anyone tried these yet? jsut curious to know if you guys had any experience with them.

Just chimin’ in here – my Terrier mix has a Barney bed that’s held up pretty darn well for about a year now (knock on wood haha). She’s a little on the lighter side though, so maybe the weight of our pups has an impact? For those having trouble with durability, have you thought about checking out the “PoochPlanet” line? definately found them to be sturdy, plus they are eco-friendly which is always a win in my book.

Folks who’ve tried PoochPlanet, how’d it go for your pups?

there fellow puppy parents! I gotta say, I was a bit skeptical about the FunnyFuzzy Dog Bed at first. But that all changed once my Golden Retriever, Mr. Fluff got his first taste of it – he most definitely fell in love! We got Mr. Fluff from a shelter and he used to have trouble relaxing before we found this lifesafer, it’s super soft and cozy…I have never seen him so peaceful.

While the velvety beds are undeniably soft too, they did not stand a chance when put next to the warmth of the FunnyFuzzy. No other bed have managed to please Mr. Fluff like this one does. And guys let me tell you something else, if your pup is like mine and loves chewing everything in sight, then you’ll be pleased to know the Fuzzie holds up great even under those ‘tough love’ situations!

Keep in mind though, every dog is as unique as their owner so you gotta find what suits your fur baby best. Give them some time to test out each bed till they find their personal cloud nine. Anyone else has any hints on transition period when swapping out old bed for the new one? Oh and don’t forget: treat yourself with some quiet time when your darling dognaps on the Fuzzie! Can’t recommend it enough.

Used to have StrictlyComfort beds, and while they did the job fairly well…nothing can beat how soft and snug the FunnyFuzzy ones are. Not to mention, he seems less bothered by his arthritis since we’ve switched. Possibly because it’s excellent with weight distribution?

And absolutely agree on velvety doge beds —they’re fab too. Especially if your furry friend prefers sleeker textures. Every doggo has their preference 😉

Just a sneaky tip: Add a machine-washable cover to make cleaning easier! Trust me; It saves so much time and keeps the bed nice ‘n’ fresh.

Have any of y’all tried heated dog beds? Wondering if that might be a comfy wintery alternative for Marley… Any thoughts?

there fellow dog enthusiasts, I totally agree with your experiences on the FunnyFuzzy dog bed. I grabbed one a few months back for my Golden Retriever, Charlie, and let me tell you, he’s been hogging it like there’s no tomorrow. I haven’t seen him this glued to a bed since…well, ever! But here’s the funny bit – lately I’ve been catching my cat, Whiskers, sneaking into it when Charlie’s not around!

Has anyone else noticed this cross-species appeal? Or is Whiskers just an oddball? Maybe we oughta start a “my cat stole my dog’s bed” thread! 😂 But seriously though – high paws to FunnyFuzzy for designing such a highly coveted comfy corner in our house. It’s so good, every pet wants in on the deal! Just beware of the potential pet-bed battles brewing at home folks! 🐶🐱👍

in reply to: Discovering Comfort with the Tuft and Needle Dog Bed #4336

Been using the Tuft and Needle dog bed for my golden retriever Sammy for about 6 months now. Definitely a thumbs up! It’s super comfy (Sammy seems to love loafing around on it), durable and easy to clean – a lifesaver when you have a shedder!

I’ve never tried the Kong Chew Resistant but considering Sammy is more of a sleeper than a chewer, the comfort factor with Tuft was more important for us. That said, anyone got some thoughts on how these beds fare overtime? Do they stand up well to multiple washes? Cheers!

But here’s the question, has anyone tried washing theirs yet? The cover says it’s removable and machine-washable, btu I’ve had bad experiences before where the bed gets totally out of shape afterward. Any tips on how to do that without ruining the bed? Would love to hear your thoughts.

    Cheers!

Well, I gotta say I was in the same boat, thinking the Yeti bed was just another overpriced piece of fluff. But boy, wasn’t I wrong! With my 8-year experience with pups, I can confidently say it’s one of the top dog beds out there. Sammie, my golden retriever, loves that it stays nice and cool (despite her best efforts to heat it up with her constant nap schedules).

As for cooling mats, we tried that route for our bulldog Buster (ripples of wrinkly skin aren’t the most breathable feature ya know), but he didn’t take to them too well. mabye he just liked the cushy comfort of a bed more than a mat.

So yeah, if you’ve got some dough to spare, the Yeti dog bed is one investment I’d vouch for. If not, maybe try looking for other bed designs with breathable materials—they work wonders too. Just goes to show, not everything expensive is overhyped, eh? Anyway, anyone got good recos for fun dog toys? Sammie found hers and Buster’s stash and it’s destruction city over here…ugh dogs!

As for the cleaning aspect someone mentioned earlier, I haven’t had any huge issues with it. The cover comes off pretty easily and we jsut throw it in the washing machine. But yeah, it is a bit of a pain to get back on… lol! Does anyone have any tips to make this easier?

in reply to: Any Kuranda Dog Bed Owners Out There? #6242

For any newbies considering this type of bed—don’t let the ‘elevated’ design put you off. It’s surprisingly beneficial as it keeps dogs off cold floors and helps with air circulation. If your fur buddy is hesitant at first, mabye add their favorite blanket to make it look inviting.

But hey, while Kuranda beds rock, they aren’t the only decent ones out there for pups who prefer not to snooze on the ground (anyone else got a primadonna for a pooch?). The Coolaroo elevated pet bed is another great option that won’t drill too much of a hole in your wallet if you’re tight on budget. It’s pretty sturdy and just as easy to clean as the Kuranda.

Hope that helps guys ‘n gals! Baxter sends his woofs 🐾
