MemberHere’s my query though – any of you folks noticed your dogs heating up a bit on this bed? Don’t get me wrong, I know Jack’s got energy to burn, but he seems a tad warmer after his snoozes. Could be just his age, but thought I’d see if anyone else had sailed that boat?

MemberYeah, @FriskyOwner – the cover isn’t fully removable but we’ve managed to keep it pretty clean with spot cleaning and a lil’ vacuuming now and then. Also, we throw a blanket over it which helps a ton!
I guess, one tip would be, if you’re really worried about potential messes (say, with pups or older dogs), maybe try using a waterproof cover or liner underneath that blanket. Anybody tried that already?

MemberHowever, despite the high quality, I wouldn’t exactly recommend feeding your past on it. It kind of defeats the harmony of the bed being a place for relaxation. Plus, meal spills could be harsh on the fine fabric – trust me, we had an unfortunate incident with some leftover steak bones.
But for occasional treats or kibbles? Oh sure, no harm done! Thoughts anyone else?

MemberOn the flip side, anyone have thoughts on Big Barker beds? I’ve heard they are orthopedic and made to last, thinking that could be an option once my other boy, Jake (a tough jawed Rottie mix), needs an upgrade from his indestructible Kuranda bed. Any personal experiences?

MemberBut yep, you’re on point about the sly stitching they’ve done on the sides. Guess what? Just a fortnight in and my girl found her new chew toy there 🐕🍖!
As an alternate, got my eyes on this “Perfect Dreams Memory Foam Dog Bed” now. Anybody given that a try? Would be great to hear some hands-on reviews 👋📝!

MemberP.S: Anyone try out the furhaven pet bed covers as an alternative? Splurged on one last week. We’ll see how it fares against her claws!

MemberI keep hearing about the ‘Friends Forever Orthopedic Dog Bed’, thoughtss?

MemberHowever, we gave it a shot and lo and behold, Buster couldn’t have been more in love with his new snoozing spot. He took to that bed like a duck to water! It’s not only cozy for him but also seems pretty durable – a major plus as far as big dogs are concerned.
That being said, have any of you tried out any other themed beds? I’m considering getting another fun one for our second pup. Or should I just stick to what works and get another Hello Kitty masterpiece? 😉

MemberQuick tip though – if your pup IS a serial gnawer, try introducing some chewable toys? They act as a wonderful distraction and keeps ’em occupied for ages! So mabye that could help prolong the kife of your Kong bed too?
Anyway, anyone else had any success with getting their dogs to favor toys over bedding? Or is Kong’s reputation as indestructible a bit of an exaggeration?

MemberI guess what makes it a winner for her is how soft annd cushy it is – It’s not called ‘squishmellow’ for no reason, beleive me. One unique aspect I’ve noticed is this thing doesn’t lose its shape over time, like some cheaper beds do.
One thing to remember though; they are a bit on the pricier side. So maybe consider if your furry friend will appreciate the extra comfort before diving into buying one? Or hey, even try out the bed yourself. No judgement here. 😉
As someone replied earlier about cleaning being a hassle with these beds? Well…I didn’t find that to be true. It comes apart pretty easily and you can just chuck the cover in the washing machine – job done!
Never thought I’d be so passionate about dog beds but here we are! Hope my insight helps you make your decision 🐾
