Oh absolutely, I can’t rave enough about Aldi dog treats myself. My little terrier mix, Mikey, gets so excited the moment he hears the crinkle of that bag – I swear he’s got a sixth sense for them. At only a couple of dollars a bag, you just can’t beat the affordability annd Mikey sure doesn’t seem to mind taste either! But don’t make my mistake tho; avoid leaving the bag anywhere within snout’s reach. Found out the hard way when Mikey ended up finishing an entire pack on his cheeky ‘dinner date’. Anyone else have their pups stage a steal operation or is it just my mischievous furball?

Absolutely on board with you guys about Applaws. I projected my swap for my two Terriers, Pip and Taz, approximately a year back and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The protein content is just perfect for them, keeping them full and their energy levels optimal.

Henceforth, we’ve had numerous compliments regarding their healthy weight and glossy coats at the dog park! Still can’t get over how much they love it, even after a year – talk about consistency. And for anyoen wondering about transitioning slowly, took me around 10 days to fully swap out the old brand. All well except for minor tummy troubles towards the beginning.

For those concerned abotu price, I find it quite reasonable considering the quality and balance that Applaws provides. Plus point; the packaging lasts pretty long as well (a big plus if you are feeding multiple dogs). But as always, every dog is different, so keep a check on their behavior while swapping foods should be of profound significance- if anything seems off, better consult your vet.

Ever tried mixing in a bit of wet food to change things up? They appear to love that slight variety! Or is there another brand you guys found worked well in combination with Applaws?

I’ve got to echo the praise for Trekker’s Calming dog treats here. Introduced ’em to my high-energy Jack Russel, and srsly, the change was like night and day. For those looking to try them out but aren’t sure about sizing, they break apart pretty easily so you can adjust to your doggo’s size. Plus, they’re rather durable and don’t crumble like some other brands we’ve tried. Best part? Good value for the price as well. Remember though, every pup is unique, so what works wonders for some might not give the same results for others. Always a good idea to start slow with any new treat or food!

Couldn’t agree with all of you more on Trekker’s Calming Dog treats! Our lab, Rusty used to get really anxious during car rides. We decided to try these treats and the change was amazing – he’s more relaxed now. They’re perfect in size too, not too big, so Rusty doesn’t have a problem chewing them. And I absolutely appreciate the fact they’re made from natural ingredients, puts my mind at ease about what I’m feeding him.

The only small downside is their slightly steep price, but honestly, it’s worth every penny considering the calm it brings to our otherwise chaotic trips. Always suggested to every fur-parent out there dealing with similar issues! Just remember that each dog is unique; what works for Rusty may not work for your pooch. So always keep an eye on how your dog reacts to new food or treats and don’t hesitate consulting with your vet if needed!

I completely see where you all are coming from. Bought a pack of Pet Pride treats for my golden retriever, Charlie, thinking I was getting a bargain. However, Charlie would turn his nose up every single time. They just seemed too hard for his preference compared to our usual soft treat selection. He’s not typically too picky when it comes to snacks but with these Pet Pride treats – it was a total miss! For those trying to save a some cash on dog treats, I’d suggest spending a little bit more on known quality brands or even making homemade treats. It can save you the hassle and your dog might appreciate the extra effort too!

Oh, absolutely agreed on the Happy Hips dog treats. I have two Dalmatians who are known for their love for food and they just devour these so eagerly. I specifically love the size – they’re quite substantial, making them great rewards for training sessions. Plus, they’re pretty durable too! They don’t crumble easily unlike some other brands we’ve tried before (won’t be naming names and souring this post though!). The price may be a touch above average, but considering the high quality and how much my Dalmis adore them, it’s a value in my opinion.

Just a word of caution to those introducing their furries to these treats: maybe start off with smaller bits until you’re sure their digestion handles it well. Even though my dogs have cast-iron stomachs, I always take a cautious approach with new food items.

I’d definitely recommend any dog-owner out there to give ’em a go! Curious to know – do any of you guys use them as meal supplements occasionally or strictly stick with them as treats?

Experience: My Fido absolutely loves these Stewart dog treats! He’s a tough one to please, but from the first bite, he seemed to be utterly smitten. I appreciated that they are made of 100% pure freeze-dried liver – it appeases my penchant for healthier treats. They’re sized perfectly for his medium-sized mouth and he can chew through them smoothly – no worries about choking.

Advice: One little tip is that they do have a strong aroma—akin to real liver. If you have a sensitive nose, be sure not to leave the bag open too long!

Question: Has anyone tried using these as training rewards? I’m starting obedience classes with Fido soon and wondering if they’d make effective motivators.

Agreement: I completely agree with the original poster about the price; they run a bit pricier than some other options on the market. However, seeing how much my pooch enjoys them, I’d say they’re worth every penny!

Alternative: For those looking at more budget-friendly options, Zuke’s Mini Naturals Dog Treats could be a good alternative. They’re smaller in size but work equally well as rewards or simple treats. I’d love to hear anyone’s take on them vs the Stewart treats!

Absolutely agree with you about Happy Hips dog treats. I’ve been using them for my golden retriever, Simba, for about a year now and he practically does backflips when he hears the bag crinkle! The size of the treats is just perfect, they’re big enough to keep him satisfied but small enough so that it doesn’t ruin his meals. They hold up pretty good in durability too, not like some other brands that would crumble just from being in your pocket. These are worth every penny if you ask me.

Now this may sound weird, but I noticed that they can make your fingers a bit greasy after handling them. A good old-fashioned napkin comes handy in such times, nothing too concerning though!

But hey, have any of you guys tried their Duck Jerky flavor? Would love to hear thoughts on that!

Just wanted to jump in on this thread about Happy Dog Dry Food. I’ve been feeding my German Shepherd, Luna, this food for quite some time now and she absolutely adores it! She’s been thriving on it, and her coat appears glossier than ever. But I’ve noticed the kibble size is slightly larger compared to other dry foods. Has anyone else noticed this with their pups? Does your dog struggle to eat it or do they enjoy the challenge of bigger kibble pieces? Love to get some feedback on this aspect!

Totally get where all of you are coming from with the Alpo Prime Cuts dry food. I have a Beagle named Daisy and she wasn’t a fan either; barely even sniffed it before deciding to walk away. From a dog owner’s perspective, I did appreciate the size of the kibble pieces – not too small, not too big, seemed just right for medium-sized pooches like mine. But at the end of the day, palatability matters a lot when it comes to food, right? Luckily no health issues noted but quickly switched to another brand after Daisy’s reaction. She now enjoys Hill’s Science Diet Adult Advanced Fitness formula and seems to absolutely love it! Always remember what our dogs prefer can sometimes be trial and error. If your pup is finicky about this one, maybe consider trying another option. And if there are any digestion problems or pickiness that worries you, definitely worth checking in with the vet’s office.
