12/20/2024 at 5:46 AM in reply to: Looking for a Comprehensive Heart to Tail Dog Food Review? We’ve Tried it! #2394
FriendlyCorgi4647
MemberNow onto the real question… did my fussy eater Spike enjoy it? Honestly, can’t say it was love at first sniff for him. He was definitely suspicious of the new kibble in his dish. Took him a few pokes with his nose before he actually started eating it, but once he began, there were no stop-offs till the bowl was licked clean.
Over the course of a couple weeks of using Heart to Tail, I’ve noticed Spike’s coat looking shinier than before which speaks volumes about the nutrition quotient, given that we’ve made no other changes to his diet or routine. Also important to note is that there has been no trouble in the digestion department (fellow owners of sensitive-stomach dogs would know what I’m talking about).
Price-wise, it’s competitive with other premium brands out there – not too heavy on your pockets if you’re just trying it out or planning on long-term feeding.
Bottom line: It wasn’t an immediate hit but now seems to keep Spike happy annd healthy and really, that’s all one could ask for. If you’re considering switching up your dog’s diet, this one might be worth giving a shot. Just make sure to transition gradually to avoid upsetting your furry friend’s stomach. Hope this helps!

MemberBut do keep an eye on your pooch when you first make the switch. My girl had a minor upset stomach for a day or two but settled down nicely once she got used to it. Every dog is different though, so just watch out for any changes in their behavior or digestion.
annd as always, check with your vet before making any drastic changes to your dog’s diet. They know your fur baby better than anybody and can give the most personalized advice. So yeah, overall it’s a thumbs up from me for Blue Buffalo 🐾👍!

MemberThe ingredient list is really impressive too. Love that it’s grain-free since grains aren’t exactly part of a natural dog diet anyway. Plus it incorporates bison and venison which are great lean protein sources for pups. Max seems to really dig the taste, and trust me, he can be picky. That said, I guess the taste wouldn’t matter much if it wasn’t doing him any good but clearly, it does.
We’re about two weeks into the switch and no upset tummies so far, thank goodness! If anything changes down the line, I’ll make sure to share an update here.
By the way, price-wise it leans more to the high-end side but given that you’re essentially investing in your furbaby’s health, pretty worth it in my book. Just grabbed another bag off Amazon yesterday; their prices seem fair compared to other retailers.
So yeah, count me and Max as fans of Badlands Ranch dog food for now! Would certainly recommend giving it a shot if you’re thinking about making a switch.
Hope this helps anyone on the fence!
Happy tails everyone 🐾🙂

MemberJust remember though, every dog reacts differently to different types of food so what works for Sammy might not work for your pup. It was literally a trial and error situation in my case. But definitely worth giving it a shot if you’re thinking about it! Keep us posted 👍🐾

MemberSo funny you brought up Merrick dog food, my golden retriever, Bear, has been on Merrick for about 6 months now. I switched him over because of the grain-free trend and their great variety in flavors caught my attention.
Bear’s coat seems healthier and shiner, he’s got a lot of energy as well… guess that’s normal for Retrievers though haha! The high protein content really suits his active lifestyle. He especially loves the Texas beef flavor – I swear Bear would marry that bag if he could!
However, it is a bit pricey compared to other brands with similar nutritional content out there, so might not be everyone’s first choice if they’re on a budget. Also, make sure to transition your pup onto this new food slowly to avoid any upset tummies.
In short, Merrick has been really good for us but remember that every dog has different needs and preferences. Keep an eye out on how your dog responds when you introduce any new food.
Hope it helps! Have fun taking care of your furry one!

MemberJust wanted to chime in on the AvoDerm conversation. I’ve got a temperamental Bulldog – George. Picky eater and sensitive skin, that’s my boy for ya! We started out with regular foods from the grocery store but they just didn’t cut it. Vet actually recommended AvoDerm. I was skeptical at first, like, avocados for dogs? Really?
But wow, what a difference it made! His coat is now impressively shiny and soft – never seen him this radiant. Plus, his stomach issues are practically gone! You could tell he feels so much happier and healthier, like a weight has been lifted off those broad shoulders of his.
It’s a bit more expensive than your everyday dog food but honestly, seeing George doing so well makes every penny worth it. If any of you’re struggling with dog allergies or diet issues, I truly advise giving AvoDerm a shot!
Stay pawsitive everyone! 🐾🥑

MemberI did notice though it took Max a couple days to adjust to the new food, so don’t panic if Fido doesn’t take to it right away 😉 It’s a big menu change, after all. All in all, highly recommended from me and Max both! Who else has had good (or not-so-good) experiences?
10/01/2024 at 3:53 PM in reply to: “Black Gold Dog Food Review: A Dog Owner’s Honest Opinion!” #2420FriendlyCorgi4647
MemberOne thing I’d warn you though – transition slowly if you’re going to try it. We jumped right in at first, and that was one rough week (no pun intended). After speaking with our vet, we learned that any major diet change should be gradual to avoid upsetting your pet’s stomach.
Aside from that hiccup, Black Gold is working great for us. Also appreciate that they use natural ingredients without unnecessary fillers. Bit on the pricy side, but worth every penny for Archer’s health. Good luck with your choice! 🐾
09/22/2024 at 9:18 PM in reply to: “Weruva Dog Food Review: A Game Changer for My Picky Eater” #2799FriendlyCorgi4647
MemberI did a little digging – turns out, Weruva uses actual meat chunks rather than “mystery meat”. How refreshing is that? Plus, they use human-grade ingredients, which made me feel pretty good about feeding it to my fur-baby.
The only teensy snag you might hit upon is its price point. It’s pricier compared to some other big-name brands. But hey, considering the quality you’re getting and seeing how my Fido gobbles it up, I’d say it’s worth every penny.
Anyway, juts remember – every doggo is different and what works for Fido may not work for yours. But if you asked me? Totally recommend you give Weruva a shot! Your pup might just thank you with some extra tail wags 😉.
09/13/2024 at 1:17 AM in reply to: My Honest Taste of the Wild Dog Food Review: An Adventure in Canine Nutrition #2024FriendlyCorgi4647
MemberI’ve been feeding my fur baby the Salmon Flavor of ‘Taste of the Wild’ for a year, and I have to say he loves it more every day. His coat’s never looked better—super slick and shiny, and you can tell he’s just bursting with energy. The ingredient list was what sold me. Chock-full of proteins and fruits/veggies.
Just a warning though, make sure your dog is good with the ingredients. My neighbor’s Lab had a bit of a tough time adjusting – upset stomach, loose stools…you know the drill. Always best to switch dog foods gradually over a week or so.
Though it’s a tad pricier than run-of-the-mill kibble, I think its worth it considering the top-notch ingredients they use. But of course, that’s subjective…we all got our budgets to keep up with!
Any-who, hope this helps! Your pooch might just love it as much as mine does!

MemberOne thing I noticed though, he seems to have more energy throughout the day. Could be the high protein content in their food or maybe it’s just all the quality ingredients they pack in there. We tried the Sweet Potato & Fish Formula first – a big hit! Now we’re on the Bison & Sweet Potato one, another clear favorite.
Price-wise, I won’t deny it’s on the steeper side compared to some other brands, but honestly seeing Max thrive like this? Worth every single penny. The only downside with switching his diet was a little bit of a grumpy gut at the beginning but increasing it slowly seemed to do the trick. And as always, make sure to check with your vet before making any major dietary changes for your pooch. Happy feeding! 🐾
FriendlyCorgi4647
MemberOne thing though – the kibble size can be a bit big, especially if you have a small doggo. But you could always go with their breed-specific formulas.
The ingredient list is decent too, meat as the first ingredient, which is excellent (we all know how important that is), annd it doesn’t use corn as a filler, another plus point.
Although, I have to say, while my dogs don’t have sensitive stomachs, I’ve heard from some folks in our dog park that theirs had a tough time adjusting to Eukanuba at first- so just something to keep in mind if your pup has a sensitive belly.
Price-wise it’s kinda up there compared to some brands but hey, our fur babies are worth every penny.
At the end of the day, it’s all about what works best for your pooch. All the best food exploring!

MemberI’ve gotta say, I was a bit skeptical at first, buying Nulo. Pricey stuff compared to the usual chow, am I right? But the poodle princess at home had got a lil’ sensitive tummy issue and my vet suggested I try something new. Switching her diet to Nulo has made such a difference!
First off, its grain-free – you know how you feel about those midnight tacos, right? Imagine that with dogs and grains. So, that cut down on her tummy troubles. Plus, it’s high in meat-based protein – a total win-win for my little carnivore.
Within weeks of the switch, she’s happier, way more active, and her coat is shinier than ever before. On top of all that – it’s made in the USA! Can’t quite get over how much she loves the salmon & peas flavor – it’s like 5-star dining for dogs.
It’s turned out to be worth every cent seeing her so healthy and playful again. Go for it if your fur baby has tricky dietary needs or if you just want them on a healthier food choice. Just be prepared to see empty bowls super quick! 😄
FriendlyCorgi4647
MemberHealth-wise, I’ve also seen some positive changes. Her coat appears shinier and she just seems more energetic overall. There’s less filler and more real protein in Instinct food which is what you really want for your fur-baby.
The only downside? The price tag is not pocket friendly! But if your budget allows, I’d definitely recommend giving it a whirl at least once. I mean there’s no harm trying it out once right? Be sure to gradually introduce any new food though, you don’t want to upset their tummies. Just my two cents!
