A tip tho – have patience when setting it up. It was quite an adventure trying to get all those foam pieces settled just right. Anyone else had fun with that part?

From personal experience, be sure to measure your dog when they’re laying down fully stretched out. That way you ensure enough space for them to strech, sprawl or roll – as they do . And yeah don’t forget about washing – ease of cleaning is a must if your pal is anything like mine.

Has anyone tried any alternatives? Costco or Amazon maybe? Their prices seem real competitive but what’s the appreciable difference in quality… or lack thereof?

But I gotta disagree a bit on the feeding in bed part. Learned it the hard way that crumbs and leftovers attracting ants and such isn’t fun at all, especially when you find’em crawling over your pooch’s favourite snooze spot. What worked for us was setting up a nice cozy feeding point right next to the Yeti bed, so Fido doesn’t feel like he’s missing out on comfiness during chow time.

Also has anyone tried those nifty elevated food bowls? We recently switched and it’s apparently improving digestion for our little pal. Now each mealtime looks like: dash from Yeti annnd straight to the bowl stand—just can’t decide which he loves more!

What are your guys’ thoughts on that? And any other mealtime hacks you’d recommend? 🙂

But yeahhh, the Carharrtt – big thumbs up from me and an even bigger one from my canine compadre!

One thing I’d point out though: the cover isn’t super durable, Daisy’s claws poked a few holes after a few months. An extra cover was a good investment for us – maybe check into that when you order? Has anyone else had trouble with their cover? Or got any smart solutions?

Also taking alternate bid suggestions cause Daisy might need one for our living room too. Cheers everyone!

The Kong Chew Resistant is definitely durable and stands up to some serious gnawing (trust me, George has gone through his fair share of beds), but I feel it doesn’t match up on the comfort level compared to Tuft and Needle’s.

I’d say if your Oscar is a vigorous chewer, maybe the Kong might stand up better over time compared to Tuft & Needle. But for a good balance between coziness and durability, T&N hit the nail right on the head (at least in George’s case). Don’t know about others but so far no signs of wear or tear here!

Hope that helps somewhat? Anyone else with more experience on Tuft & Needle vs Kong?

in reply to: Making the Switch to Barney Dog Bed: A Game Changer? #3990

I totally get what you’re saying about the protective thing though. Tank has certainly become quite possessive of his Barney bed. Even plays gatekeeper when the cat gets too curious!

Have any of you experienced any color fade issue though? Wanted to know if it’s just us or if anyone else noticed that too?

folks! So, I finally took the plunge and got my old golden retriever Jasper a Barney bed. Let me tell ya, he absolutely loves it – napping right now as I type this ;). Someone earlier mentioned about its orthopedic benefits, 100% agree with that. Plus, its memory foam is top notched!

Chuckles aside, tbh I was a doubter at first – switching from our old reliable to something, well…fancier? But seeing him comfortable in his new bed made it all worth it. Can’t put a price tag on your best buddy’s comfort, right? And if you got an older dog like mine you’d appreciate the extra support Barney bed provides.

For those of you still sitting on the fence like I was – jsut go for it! It’s definitely a game changer, especially if your furry friend is on the older side. I only wished I’d switched sooner.

ps: Does anyone else have any great bed recommendations? Always love trying out new stuff for Jasper.

What we did was to give it a couple of weeks to break in, and sure enough Beethoven started warming up to it. Now he absolutely loves the thing and hogs all of it too hahah.

On another note, anyone try those heated pet beds? I hear they’re great for older dogs with arthritis but not sure how safe they really are. Interested if anyone here’s tried ’em out and what your thoughts were? This old man Beethoven could certainly do with some heat during the cold months!

in reply to: Yeti Dog Bed and Its Impact on Fido’s Feeding Time #3714

But anyone remember them old-school raised dog bowls? The ones that promised better digestion and all that jazz? I always wondered if they have more impact on feeding habits than a fancy bed.

Also, has anyone tried the Yeti dog bowl with their Yeti bed? Just curious… 😉

in reply to: Any Kuranda Dog Bed Owners Out There? #6232

Been using a Kuranda dog bed for my old lab Molly for about 2 years now and she loves it. The raised platform is perfect for her hips and I can really see how more comfortable she is. Can be a bit tough to put together at first, but the durability stands up to her scratches and chewing. 100% recommend it if u got a big, old pup like mine.

Anybody have trouble with their dogs not liking the bed initially? Molls was a lil hesitant at first too, any tips to help ease ’em into it?

Ever consider a homemade option though? Made a few myself from old blankets annd pillows—cheap and comfy as ever! And if your doggo loves chewing as much as mine, who cares if they tear these ones up! 😄

And to those of you considering the purchase, think about this: how many beds will your pup eat through in the time the Yeti might last? Worth tallying up those bucks before dropping the big ones on this beast of a bed!

Anybody else try their hand at homemade solutions? Or found any other brands that withstand the test of time (and teeth)?

Now about the Furhaven, solid bed with its own merits, but my golden just seems to take to the Sheri bed more. Might be due to that special “dirt and hair resistant” bottom it has – really works wonders!

And hmm.. the Snoozer Cozy Cave? Haven’t quite tried that one out yet. Anyone have any firsthand experience or inputs about its durability, particularly with larger dogs?
