ParticipantHa! It’s almost like our stories are eerily similar. Danny, my stubborn Beagle mix, would turn up his nose at nearly every raved-about “premium” kibble I’d set in front of him. Until Nature’s Promise found its way into our home, that is. I’m still not sure if it’s the size of the kibbles or the specific blend they use, but it apparently hits the mark for Danny!
Notably, considering its quality ingredients and Danny’s devouring speed, it has quite a reasonable price point. However, I did have to let Danny grow accustomed to it slowly (in around 1 week or so) – stuffed with some of his old food first. For all those dealing with fussy eaters out there, patience might realy be key!
Also just curious – anyone else observed a difference in their fur babies’ coats after feeding them with this? Slightly glossier maybe? Or is it a by-product of my wishful thinking? A consult with a vet made me aware that certain foods might do that.

ParticipantDefinitely appreciate the honest review on Nature’s Promise Dry Dog Food! My older beagle, Max, isn’t one to turn his nose up at much, but this stuff he genuinely loves. I was most impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the dog-friendly size of the kibble – easy for Max to eat while being supportive for his dental health. Admittedly, it’s a bit pricier than what we were using before, but seeing Max’s improved coat and increased energy level? Totally worth every cent.
My advice would be to not be too abrupt when switching your pup’s food though. We introduced Nature’s Promise gradually over a week, mixing it in with his old food and that seemed to work well. Too fast of a transition can cause tummy troubles, so keep an eye out for that and consider your vet’s advice if needed.
Has anyone else seen a visible difference in their dog’s coat after switching to Natures Promise? Or found any retailers offering it at a more competitive price maybe?

ParticipantAh, Merrick dry dog food, a tried-and-true staple in our household too. Been using it for my wonderfully stubborn bulldog Barry for nearly four years and I got to say this stuff is pretty solid.
I mean, who’d think they’d put blueberries and sweet potatoes in there? But Barry munches away happily every mealtime and keeps his energy levels high. Despite being a bit on the pricey side, I reckon the nutritional punch it packs is totally worth it. You get what you pay for, don’t ya?
If your pups’ tummies are good with grain-free food, then hey, by all means let them enjoy Merrick’s. But if you’re ever concerned about their diet or any changes in behavior or poop—then it’s time to have chat with your vet. Nothing beats professional advice!08/12/2025 at 9:16 PM in reply to: “Turning a New Leaf: My Wellness Complete Health Dry Dog Food Review” #6471fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantI feel like I have to chime in here with my experience using Wellness Complete Health dry dog food for a bit over a year now. I initially bought it because of the high-quality ingredients listed and the not-so-steep price point, but it became apparent overtime that it didn’t suit my beagle, Toby. Nothing alarming – no unusual weight gain or loss – but he seemed less excited at meal times.
Every dog is different, of course, so maybe other pups might take to this product better than Toby did. However, I recently switched to another brand with a grain-free option and there’s been a noticeable change – Toby now eagerly awaits dinner time!
Anybody else had a similar experience? Like, has your pup showed less enthusiasm while on Wellness Complete Dry Dog Food? And if so, were you able to find an alternative that was more palatable to them?
As we all know though, when your pet’s behavior drastically changes (especially with regards to food), it might be worth a quick chat with the vet to rule out any possible health issues.
08/09/2025 at 11:08 AM in reply to: My Personal Milk-Bone Dog Treats Review: A Tale of Satisfaction and Tail-Wagging #6726fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantInteresting to hear about everyone’s experiences with Milk-Bone treats. I’ve been giving them to my border collie, Shep, for about a year now. He’s pretty selective with what he eats (quite the treat connoisseur, if you will), but he really seems to enjoy these! One thing I’ve noticed is that the biscuits are bit on the larger side for him – do they come in different sizes? Also, anyone found an effective way of breaking them into smaller pieces without making a mess? All the tiny crumbs drive me nuts!

ParticipantTotally agree with your review. In my 15 years of dog-ownership, I too have seen how much the pups love their Milk-Bones. Just last week, when my Retriever mix, Bonnie, saw me reaching for the box, her tail went wild! For their price and size variety, you really can’t beat these treats. But I’ve noticed that they can get a bit crumbly if not stored properly. Has anyone else experienced this? And any tips for better storage to keep them fresh longer?
fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantI’ve found that while the price can seem steep, the value of Wet Noses dog treats really shines through in their size and durability. They don’t crumble apart like many cheaper alternatives, so they’re great for training as you can break them into smaller pieces. From my experience with many a eager tail-wagger over these 16 fruitful years, I’ll say it’s definitely worth investing in high-quality treats.
However, does anyone else feel the shape of the treat could be slightly rounder? My goldie seems to struggle with the current design sometimes. But again, this is just a small nitpick from an otherwise huge fan! How are your four-legged friends finding the size and shape?
06/19/2025 at 2:48 PM in reply to: “Authority Dog Treats Review: A Savory Delight or Not Worth the Bite?” #7158fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantJust to chime in here, I too have found Authority Dog Treats to be a hit with my Lab, Bella. They are durably made which is great as Bella loves to chew and these treats keep her entertained for a while. Regarding size, they’re perfect for larger breeds like labs but might be a bit much for tinier pups. As for price, it feels fair considering the quality.
From an advice perspective, if you have multiple dogs with different sizes at home, it could be helpful to break the treat into parts accordingly to suit each dog’s size and dietary needs. Always remember though that with any new food item, it’s always good to introduce it gradually into your dogs diet and consult your vet if you have any concerns about adverse reactions or allergies as each pooch is different!
Anybody has experience using these treats for training? I’m wondering how well they work in that field.
05/20/2025 at 2:48 AM in reply to: “Bocce Bakery Dog Treats Review: Incredibly Tasty or Just Hype?” #6658fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantCouldn’t agree more about the Bocce Bakery treats. My terrier, Beans, could possibly be their biggest fan! What gets me is not just the taste that she loves, but how balanced they are in terms of size. Perfect for training and they don’t crumble easily like some other brands so it’s less messy too! And let’s not forget about the fairly reasonable pricing. I’m noticing dividends in Beans behavior since adopting the ‘one-treat-for-job-well-done’ strategy with these treats. Wonder if you folks have any other training tips or tricks that work well with these wonderful Bocce treats?
05/19/2025 at 4:44 PM in reply to: Experiences with Triumph Dog Treats: A Comprehensive Review #7345fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantOh boy, how good are those Triumph treats really! I’ve been treating my Cocker Spaniel, Lucky, with Triumph morsels too. And yes, they come in a convenient size but I’ve found them to be a little tough for Lucky’s gentle bite. Does anyone else have this issue? His adorable yet utterly confused face while trying to gnaw at them is priceless though! Have you tried soaking them a tad bit before offering to Fergus and Reggie? Might make them a tad easier for our furry companions to munch on. Would love to hear your thoughts!

ParticipantMy Personal Experience with Bocce Bakery Dog Treats
Our Labrador, Max, absolutely loves these treats. They’re a great size for him, not too small and not too big – jsut perfect for rewarding his good behavior. I’ve also noticed that they don’t turn mushy or crumble easily compared to some other brands we’ve used in the past. Price is a bit steep but perhaps becuase of the wholesome ingredients used. I’d say they’re worth it because my dog not only enjoys them but seems enthusiastic during training sessions, especially when he knows there’s a Bocce treat involved! Also, they seem pretty QC consistent; we’ve never had a questionable batch.
As a tip, use these treats as high-value rewards for more difficult commands or new trick-learning. You may find that your furry friend gets extra-motivated!
Just curious—has anyone tried using these treats for agility training rewards? Would love to hear experiences!
05/10/2025 at 3:35 AM in reply to: My Honest “Pedigree Dry Dog Food Review” after a 3-month Trial #6493fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantAbsolutely spot on about the size issues, folks. My Jack Russell, Pippin, has had some trouble with Pedigree’s kibble size as well. Obviouslty every dog is different, but for smaller breeds like ours, this food just seems a bit too bulky. I feel like they could certainly stand to make a ‘small breed’ version of thier recipe.
As a workaround, what I’ve started doing is soaking a portion of the kibbles in warm water before feeding Pippin. This softens the food making it much easier for her to manage annd digest. And actually if you’re facing similar size issues with your pup, this might be worth trying until you find a more suitable brand or they hopefully release smaller sized kibble!
But remember guys, if you’re ever unsure about a diet change for your four-legged friend or observe any discomfort or unusual behavior after meals, always best to consult the vet. They can give great tailored advice to suit your specific lil’ buddy!
On balance though, I’d say Pedigree dry dog food isn’t such a bad shout for bigger dogs – friends of mine have labradors and these big guys have no problems whatsoever with it! But for those of us with smaller caninecompanions, definitely something to think about when choosing pedigree as an option.
05/07/2025 at 3:23 PM in reply to: My Honest “Pedigree Dry Dog Food Review” after a 3-month Trial #6488fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantI’ve got to chime in here with my 18 years of experience under my belt. The size of Pedigree’s dry dog food may indeed seem a bit big, but here’s the flipping side of the coin: at the day-end, it’s all about the munching style of your wiggle butt. I have a sprightly Shih Tzu named Buster who loves taking his sweet time chomping and savoring every bite, while my other furball Bella just inhales her meals! She’s a chunky Labrador with a heart as big as her appetite. For Buster, smaller kibble was best while Bella took to Pedigree quite naturally. Remember, it’s about what suits your pup’s preference and eating habits. Always consider their comfort while feeding. And yes, if there are any serious food intake or digestion concerns, a vet consultation is the way to go; better safe than sorry!
fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantI’m in agreement with you folks regarding the NutriSource treats. My German Shepherd, Max, is a picky eater but he definately took a liking to these. At first, I too was surprised by the cost annd the size of the treats, but they’ve proved their worth over time as I noticed not just how much Max enjoys them, but also their effect on his coat. It’s looking shinier than ever! And given that Max is a heavy chewer, it’s a bonus that these snacks are quite sturdy and don’t fall apart easily.
The pricing may seem steep initially, especially compared to some other brands, but I think the overall quality and benefits make it worthwhile. Just remember everyone’s experience may vary and always consider your pup’s specific needs.
Out of curiosity, has anyone tried switching between flavors regularly? Wondering if this might keep things more interesting for our fur friends or if routine is better.
fluffyfurbuddy1938
ParticipantAbsolutely endorse what’s been said here about Open Farm Dry Dog Food. I switched my 6-year-old husky, Luna, over to it a couple months back and both she and I couldn’t be happier! She’s always eager at meal times now and the kibble size is prefect for her, not too big, not too tiny. Price-wise, it may be a bit on the premium end, but given the high-quality ingredients, I believe it’s worth every penny. Just as with introducing any new food though, don’t forget to gradually mix it in with your old dog food to help your dog’s digestion adjust. Anyone else notice their dogs having improved coat condition after switching?
