MemberI actually got my fur baby a Petco dog bed a few months back. She’d been getting grumpy on her old bed– probably coz it was close to 7 years old! Can’t say I blame her.
Initially, she seemed to quite like the new Petco one– took to it instantly. I thought we had hit the jackpot and all was smooth sailing… until about a week later when she started chewing on it. Seems like she likes the taste as well but in an entirely different way.
And DIYing? Well, I tried that once with my older labrador, had some old cushions lying around the house. Thought it would be an easy hit– comfort with familiarity– you know? It worked for a bit after I spent countless hours stitching together—to only have him tear it apart a day later.
Not saying Petco or DIY is bad, maybe it’s just me not picking up on what my dogs actually wnt. But yeah, Im back here at square one—looking for another dog bed. Anyone tried Chewy’s or Amazon’s dog beds? Something good happened there?

MemberYes, L.L.Bean dog beds are decent for sure, no questions about that – durable, comfy and look great. But they may not always fit a pup’s specific needs. Sometimes, depending on the size/breed/age of your furry friend, you might need to look into other options too.
For instance, my old golden retriever prefers elevated bed because she has arthritis and it’s easier for her to step on/off the bed that way – L.L.Bean didn’t have what we needed in that area. After some hunting around we got a Coolaroo Elevated Pet Bed and it’s worked wonders for her.
So while L.L. Bean pet products are solid in general, it’s also worth considering alternatives according to you dog’s unique requirements. Anyone else got any breed-specific bed recommendations?

MemberWhat I really appreciate is how durable these are; cleanups are a breeze even with the hairiest of buddies (looking at you German Shepherd!). For those of you worried about the price, let me justs ay it’s definitely a solid investment for your furry pals’ happiness and comfort. IMHO, every penny spent here is worth it when you see your pup snuggle in for their afternoon nap 😉

MemberAnybody else notice a cut down on thier dog’s shedding with this bed though? My buddy seems to leave less fur around since we switched to Yeti – am I imagining this or can a more comfortable sleep really control shedding? Would love hear your thoughts!
