I absolutely agree with the tip about adding an old t-shirt. It sure works like magic. We tried that alongside introducing the new bed – Instant hit! Contented sighs all round.

Just a quick tip from my side: make sure you buy the right size. They are bit pricey and it can be a real bummer if your pupper doesn’t fit just right.

Anyone else find the need for frequent washing with these beds? I sometimes feel like it gets bit smelly quicker than our previous ones. Could use some advice on that!

Recently, we thinkin’ to switch our lab Max over to a Barney bed. Read through numerous posts here and gotta say, kinda unsure about the overwhelming positivity. Our guy is pretty picky when it comes to his sleep spot so I’m just worried he won’t like the new change.

Anyone with fussy dogs has success with it? Also curious if anyone experienced any issues about the filling getting clumpy after several washes?

I’ve always been bit partial to Big Barker beds due their longer warranty and good reviews. Could be another solid alternative to consider for anyone stuck in decision limbo like me. Anyway, thoughts on the above guys?

Have you guys tried the Kong Chew Resistant Dog Bed? A little pricier but Sunny hasn’t made a dent in this one so far and trust me she’s given it a good go! Any other chew-proof suggestions from you seasoned dog owners out there?

guys, I’ve got an 8-year-old Golden retriever at home that absolutely adores his Pendleton bed. The comfort and cozy level? Top notch, no argument there. The design is also quite stylish and fits well with our interior decors. However after a year of use, i’m starting to notice some wear and tear, especially on the corners where Sam (my doggo) likes to chew. Maybe it’s just my guy being a heavy chewer, but has anyone else had this problem? Perhaps any tips on how to make these beds last longer? I really don’t want to switch brands cause Sam’s in love with this one.

annd as for the wobbliness, yep had that problem too at first. Woulda thought Daisy was trying to do staircase slalom with all the sliding around! Turns out I had kinda bungled the assembly (not an IKEA mastermind), but after another go, it was rock solid. So my advice? If yours is a bit on the wobbly side, give the instructions another glance. Might just save your wood floors from getting scuffed!

Anyway, still curious if anyone’s tried their other products, cuz this one’s pretty neat so far. To those on the fence: you got my thumbs up!

From personal experience, when you’re washin’, just be sure to unzip it slowly and take out the stuffing carefully so it doesn’t end up everywhere – bit messy otherwise, eh? And also – cold wash! Works best, I reckon.

However, does anyone else find that these beds aren’t the most chew-resistant? Sammy chewed through the corner within a week and I had to sew it back up. Anybody got any tips on how to deter him from gnawing at his bed? Or perhaps suggest another tough bed more suited for avid chewers?

in reply to: “Why I swear by the Petco dog bed for my pooch” #5585

A big part of why I think some dogs might dig this bed more than others could be down to the stuffing – it’s memory foam and some breeds just adore that extra bit of support for their joints.

As for choosing the right one, it really depends on your dog’s preferences. Some love the cuddler style while others prefer pillow-style dog beds. If you’re planning to get one, probably look at what kind of spaces your pooch usually chooses to rest or sleep – does he/she like snuggling into small areas or sprawling out on open spaces?

And btw, do keep an eye on sales, because with Petco beds being pricy, you can save some serious $$$ if you catch a deal! 😉

Anyone else had experiences with other dog bed brands? I’d like to compare some alternatives too.

I too made the switch to Casper beds for my pups couple years back, and I gotta say they’re all over it like bees to honey. They seem to realy love the memory foam, can’t fault them there!

However, I’ve also noticed some wear and tear, but frankly, after regular machine washing and roughhousing by energetic Labradors who treat it as their wrestling ring…it was expected. I liked the point about the durability compromise for that cushy comfort.

I guess my advice would be to mabye limit the wash frequency if possible? Not ideal, I know (dogs will be dogs afterall). But seriously check out those couch style beds for durable alternatives. Has anyone tried those with success?

    Peace out ya’ll!

there folks, I gotta jump in here annd sing praises for the Squishmellow dog bed too. My aging golden retriever, Bailey, absolutely adores his. He’s got a case of arthritis and this bed has been quite easy on his joints, which is a huge win in my book! Not to mention the durability mentioned – totally stands up to Bailey’s love of rough-housing with his toys while lounging. Money well spent, if you ask me. Anyone else find that their pets are sleeping longer or more deeply with these beds?

in reply to: Barney Dog Bed Transforms Feeding Time! #3924

Oh, how I wish the Barney Dog Bed was around when I first brought my Westie home 14 years ago. It’s such a great idea – combining comfort and feeding station into one spot. Makes meal times a breeze, especially with how messy my little furball can get! And let me tell you, it’s saved me so many times from stepping on kibble barefoot in the morning… 😆

Kinda wish they had a model that includes a water bowl though – anyone know of something like that?
